Agree, Ole cant do anything with this players. They are limited players and only great coaches are able to get great performances from limited players, Ole is not a great coach.

If we are going to persist with him we should buy 11 world class players, they may be able to hide Ole’s incompetence.
Would you class Jose as world class because he couldn’t get anything from them either

Can't say I am overly surprised, its the result I expected, I hate the fact that we are sacking managers like there is no tomorrow, and as much as of Legend Ole is for our club in regards to his playing career, and granted no matter the manager, they will have average players to currently work with tactics wise, Ole just seems so lost.

I struggle to see what the style of play is supposed to be? If we are purely dependant on counter-attacking then we are not doing very well at it, there is no leader on the pitch still, we got ripped off again paying 80M for Maguire.

The list goes on, but nothing will change, especially when you consider 73,000 fans watched that match in the stadium today, even though this United team has been poor for some time, as long as those numbers continue then, the glazers or Eddy boy have no reason to pull the trigger, Ole does not bring the same toxic atmosphere as Jose did, so that helps his cause a little.

This is a good point, those *ugly goals* Solskjaer talked about Martial getting at the start of the season were there for the taking today, and he wasn't there on his toes being alert, he was on the edge of the box standing and shrugging.
I mean, a lot if that had to do with the fact that both of our strikes had to drop very deep, just so that we could create anything, because of how absolutely hopeless our midfield has been.

I'm one of those that has held out for Ole, because he's Ole. But that's it now. We need a change. The man will always be a legendary player for us.
Part ways please because that reputation is being tarnished by the harm that he is now doing. We have to go all out to get Pochettino in and back him right away this January.
We’d have to give him 12 million to compensate for the hit he’ll take over taking an early appointment

What do we do in training? There were a couple of good balls into Villa's box but not a single near or far post run. It becomes laughable how clueless the players are.

Absolutely devoid of quality. Midfield pound for pound actually outclassed us. Do a combined XI of Villa and United and arguably 6 of our players on the field make it. We simply need better players
De Gea (although I rate Heaton)
Wan Bissaka Maguire Mings Shaw (Probably. Just.)
James Pogba McGinn Rashford
Grealish
Martial

By my count they'd get 3, maybe 4 if you chose Targett.

But yes, it's a bit poor, especially in the midfield.

Definitely won't happen.
Our board are slow to do anything.
We'll definitely have a new manager next Summer, but we won't know who until closer to the time.

Hes no choice but to play those two in our midfield because he let Herrera leave for nothing and chose not to replace him. Now we’re light in midfield.
Also he choose to sell Fellaini in what was an obvious PR stunt to get the fans applauding. But being the limited manager that he is didn’t bother to replace him.

This idea that it's about buying more shinier toys all the time surely has to be debunked now. Many on here laughed at thought of being linked with McGinn and Grealish and yet both bosses the game today. How many times does it have to be said, good players with a great manager will always do better. FFs we used to batter teams with the likes of Gibson in midfield.
Well, you say that...! On wiki it says Gibson played 31 times for United, I think those matches would be the winnable ones and he had more of a spine around him. Very different playing next to Carrick or Scholes and playing next to Fred! It has honestly got so bad that United has nobody in centre mid, and there isn't even an old guard to carry the younger players.

I think Grealish is a better player than Fred or Pereira. I don't think United should sign them, because they're not the quality of player the club should go for. That says even more about Fred and Pereira. Fred at least recycles the ball and gets about the field I suppose. I feel sorry for AWB and Williams, there doesn't seem to be a clear strategy for using the full-backs in the game.

Another terrible game. In last 2 league games we maybe put together 15 quality minutes. The rest was rubbish.

I really don't know what to think of Ole. I understand he has a very poor squad without any healthy central midfielders. But I'm also not seeing any progress in the way we are playing. I'm all for giving managers enough time, but how much is too much? On the other hand; what would any other manager do with this bunch of players?

The midfield has been a problem since Pogba retired. We coped with McT and Fred but it was only a matter of time before the lack of depth and the lack of quality found us out.

One positive is that we did score a point and as a result are back up to 9th!
Negative is that Liverpool are now 22 points ahead of us, after just 14 matches!

Out of interest, who would you have started in central midfield over Pereira? I don't mean that Pereira is good, obviously not, but what would the call be?
Who’s fault is it that we’re left with no option but to play Pereira? Ole let Herrera go and didn’t replace him, his reasoning was that he had McTomminay and Pereira who could play there. That’s on him to trust Pereira.

Mata and Pereira shouldn't be anywhere near our club much less on the team sheet. We have better young players than these 2. Getting ridiculous now, and time for change.

That's a good point, additionally Mata was supposed to be that link but Martial felt he had to drop into that position. There was a point where Martial dropped and Mata literally couldn't move to get into a decent space near him, it was just tragic.

The thing about this is that not one single person will be able to do anything with Fred and Pereira in the midfield. We will probably look better with McT. and Pogba if he ever comes back but to go through managers is pointless with this squad.
In the 8-2 we had Anderson and Cleverly ffs. But we had a brilliant manager

I’d have parted ways with Ole some time ago and would still be keen to do so if I thought the ideal next manager was available, but I do feel for him a bit in recent weeks.

Again tonight we did more than enough to win the game going forward, but our players wasted chances or failed to attack key areas of the box on dangerous crosses. It’s difficult enough to win matches, but especially so when your centre forward spurns a killer one. Look at the xG:

On the other hand, I am disappointed in us defensively. It’a not as if we are poor, but when you spend that much on defenders you expect to keep regular clean sheet and remain solid. That’a not happening though and the team seems complacent at key moments. Both Villa goals today are good examples. After a week of focus on this match for the first team, we let Grealish cut in and work his magic. Players should have surely known his qualities. The second goal is again down to the culture of the team. We score and from kick off Villa can stroll down the pitch and win a corner as our winger is not ready.

Where’s the leadership? That’s what I fault Ole on. I can accept that our finishing has let him down again and that we are going to struggle to control games whilst our midfield is so sparse. I can’t overlook standards not being set on the basics of the game though.

I see where you’re coming from, and I agree I think he’s got the shitty end of the stick taking on this squad.
Football is a results business though, the pressure will be on him and I can’t see how we beat Tottenham and City.
I have a lot of respect for Solskjær, but he’s not turning it around with this squad, and I doubt he’ll get the time to make more changes to it.
but Jose couldn’t turn it round with them either and he is a serial winner and had a fit Pogba .The players are the common denominator they are the week link it’s so plain to see . Poch got the sack at spurs to be replaced by the man who failed at United . We desperately need new players not another new manager

I know, probably not happening. But I think it should. Or this team is absolutely fecked. We've been shocking.

I can't be pragmatic about young team, injuries need another window and the rest. Apart from a prolonged bounce when he arrived we've been dogs**t he's done.

Felt the draw was a fair result. It was a difficult match, we were very poor in the first half and were lucky to come into the break at 1 1. 2nd half was much improved, we pushed for the 2nd goal and got it, it was very disappointing that we let the lead slip again.

It's the only game i'm confident. Just a hunch. I would love it if United trashed Mourinho.
It would be glorious, although it's a sad state of affairs when individual results mean so much for a club so used to title challenges.

I doubt we will spend in January.
Too many fans have some misguided faith in our board.
The board have screwed the fans over, time and time again, yet the fans still believe that they will do the right thing.
Agree, the board is a Glazer thing and they are the problem, United where a powerhouse and we would still be very strong if they had never arrived with their puppet Woodward. Not to mention the debt.

Just as well ole rested most the 1st team for the europa league last Thursday. You can see those few extra days off / lack of travelling worked wonders today.

We’ve become a mid-table club in less than 7 years. Shocking.

Can't blame that one on Ole, Herrera himself said that he was trying to get him to stay. His contact situation was fecked up long before OGS was appointed as a caretaker.

Ole won't get sacked because United will beat Spurs confortably. You will see a difference in players attitude against Mourinho. Then it will get back to normal shite
Agreed

Utd are the type of mid table side that will try and raise it’s game against Spurs & City, may see the return of 3 CB’s for those 2 games with us heroically drawing both and then revert back to substandard type against Everton & Watford.

Jose is a poor example because he’d clearly had enough.
I agree, if we get Poch in and keep these players we’ll be no better, but people aren’t happy with the results, which isn’t unfair.
We’re a long way from the top iregardless of who is in charge, but we’ve dropped too many points under Ole.

Given that BW started the game I take targett. Nevertheless, not surprised we didn't come away with the win.

Difference is if we had Fellaini we'd have won today. Ole out for getting rid of the big man.
Nice to finally find someone who appreciates Fellaini and doesn't see him as just a giant clod who stumbles around the field, elbowing people in the face.

It was clear the players abandoned Mourinho after que exploded the summer he didnt get the signings he wanted.

But lets not prettend Mourinho’s entire spell as if it was always like his last months, he did get this team to play way better than what Ole is getting.

There’s a difference between players abandoning the coach and the players being lost on the field due to failed tactics.
