And how many of the 8 goals did he score ?
I think we had slightly better forwards in those days !!
Really? You think that our squad is at fault for this shitshow week in week out?
Brendan Rodgers took Leicester from mid table team to title challengers in just 9 months not a freaking year

Didn't watch the game last night, though after reading some of you here and watching MOTD last night, I think the main problem here is Ole. Remember back in the days when SAF did manage to let players such as O'Shea, Brown, even Evans look like world class when if they were in this team they would look average?
Ole doesn't have the ability to do this, and also he is not right with the timing of the subs. You can't bring Greenwood in after 82 minutes when you are drawing against Aston Villa. SAF would have brought him after 60min after seeing the performance of our front 3.

Ole is not good enough for such a massive entity like Manchester United, and even if he has won some nice games, I think his time here is almost over.

This club will stay midtable because that will be the standard of players we will sign. Sancho is not going to come here if he has the slightest bit of ambition, neither will any other young or near prime player. Now we know why he is targeting so many Championship players, it might work, but it might also send us further into the mediocrity abyss. Why would a world class player come here when they know the standard of coaching is abysmal.
Think you’re right. Sancho won’t come here because we won’t even put a bid in. Just like we never bothered to get a midfielder or two in, and even though Lukaku could’ve left in July, we didn’t do the deal until the last minute so we could say we didn’t have time to replace him.

They are asset stripping and not replacing, which makes me hope they aren’t far off selling, because we haven’t much further to go down before we start seriously diminishing in value.

Just seen Ole's post-match interview. Doesn't actually say anything. Just gives a precise of the game. I fear that's much like how training goes" "Right, Rashy and lads do some training..." It's like watching a party political broadcast. seriously, can't anyone at the club see the poor guy is so far out of his depth that he's drowning?

also just seen the Leicester game. the difference between their passing and ours is massive but also Vardy's running off the ball makes him almost impossible to play against while Rashford and Martial spend most of the game standing still

There in lies the problem, with all value of these big clubs it won't go down even if we aren't doing all that well. You could bet your buttom dollar that Utd in 10 years will have added value of what it is today. The only chance we have is that the Glazer's aren't bothered enough and would see cashing in now to be a good time to do so. But if we are waiting for the club to drop in valuation we could wait forever for that to happen.

France - can't win anything with Swedish turnips
Started slow and offered nothing after Villa scored until the equaliser.
Improved a bit in the second half, took the lead and give a soft goal away with Williams not moving up to play Mings offside.

Overall lack of inspiration and control of the game. Midfield has to control the game. Need reinforcements.

Disappointing not to move up to 5th and gather some momentum.

We have to get Poch. Strange to thing we need a managet that's just been fired by Spurs, but I'm sure he'd develop the team and coach them enough so we play cohesive football.

Ole is a hero of the club and it is a shame how it's heading, but we can't just keep him based on sentiment.

Best to go now before trashing his legacy. I'd prefer him to resign and say that he could never have turned the job down but that he now sees a club this size needs a coach with a bit more experience. This type of exit could see him redeployed somewhere in the club, which would be great.

Rashford - does he still think it was funny when he missed the ball and let it roll off the pitch instead of setting up a goal? It really winds me up when players do this. Why are you laughing? Why is it funny? It's not is it. Its not funny. You just cost your team a goal. Two in this case because Villa then went up the other end and scored as a result. Did the ball comically bounce up and hit you in the face? No. Do players burst into laughter when they miss a penalty? If a goal keeper fumbles the ball into his own goal does he start laughing? No, because it isn't funny, it's just shite. It isn't funny to be shite.
That was something my brother and I picked out yesterday. Some would file getting annoyed about a player laughing at a mistake with digging players out over social media antics but we were royally pissed off, doubly so when as you say Villa scored off the resulting passage of play.

You could argue it was a wry, almost disbelieving laugh that he'd made such a basic error but I must say us not scoring and then conceding didn't strike me as even a bit funny.

I fear you might well be right, pal, whilst the game is awash with money as it is. We desperately need rid of this disease upon the club. All the work, that for decades has gone into making the club what it is today is going right down the pisser whilst these cnuts own it. A fecking disgrace that the FA sat on their hands and allowed this. They weren’t so slow to stop Murdoch owning the club when it looked like we might prosper from it.

Uncanny, that it happened twice within a week, only days after Chong missing a sitter seconds before Astana’s equaliser. You’d think there was a curse upon the club. There is, actually. In Florida.

But do you think we're justified in getting pissed off at the laugh? Players miss chances, and as fans what do we want the reaction to a bad miss/poor control be, self-flagellation? I felt a bit silly getting so pissed off to be honest, but then to have very poor control screwing a good chance for us, a laugh from Rashford, then them going down the other end to score a great goal just really got under my skin and had me ranting for a good while after the incident.

To be fair he cracked on and played a key role in our equaliser and I don't want to start reading into every microexpression from our players but I couldn't help but take the laugh as a read on our poor attitude to matches, when we should be busting a gut to get wins.

It might be symptomatic of worse things but really, I think we have bigger things to worry about than Rashford laughing.

Agreed. And that is what proper coaching and tactics get you.
Leicester city move the ball so much quicker than United and their general play is so much more adventurous.
The plain truth is that our quality of coaching is abysmal. Our players are as not fit as they should be and do not work anything like hard enough for eachother.
All this has got to change before we can start to turn the corner.

So? My point still stands. Ole didn't want to replace Fellaini and Herrera because he thought Pereira could do a job there.

And he's now paying for it.
Your point only stands if you believe managers always say exactly what they think when speaking to the media, which the Fellaini comments disprove. We've been heavily linked, from reliable sources, with a few midfielders over the summer, of course he wanted to add a player to our midfield. You hear this generic "happy with our squad"-ish comments all the time, it doesn't mean that's the absolute truth, there's just no point in throwing players under the buss.

We do. But you think this manager is the quality we need? Why? How?

I completely agree with people who say the squad isn't good enough and we need new signings, but the manager is possibly the worst of the lot.

I get where you are coming from but IMO there is some deep underlying issues at play.

We have had LVG and Mourinho and the football has been shocking. Mourinho is not a bad coach.

I know what Solskjaer said is not popular thing to hear as a fan, but I appreciate honesty a lot more than swerwing and making up excuses. Do we want him to do like Unay did, starts with "Good ebening" and then rehashes same old stuff when the team clearly is not doing well. Getting ponts against teams like Villa is not as easy for us as it once was, and no manager would fix it in 8-12 months. It will take a lot more time.

With no McTomany, or Pogba available, surely Matic would have been a better choice in midfield than Pereira or Fred against a team like Villa?

That midfield, containing both Fred and Pereira together has become a joke.

Generally I can understand what Ole wants to do longer term, but his refusal to use Matic when we are so depleted in midfield is a puzzle and with James putting ball after ball into the box and neither Martial or Rashford anywhere near getting on the end, he waits until the virtual death to bring on Greenwood, the only natural predator-in-the-box we have!

I wonder does Ole actually make a sub's decision on his own or is it down to a voting system with Phelan and McKenna on who should be replaced and when?

Villa should have been 2 up in the first half if not that offside call.
It was offside clear so it wasn't a goal was it, so they shouldn't have been 2 up. You might as well say, Utd should have been 2 up if a player got on the end of a cross, they didn't, so ifs buts maybes don't come into it.

Looked onside to me. Not sure why VAR didn’t interfere there.

He has to go.

It's been obvious for a long long time he isn't good enough.

It's December and we're 9th and we've won 4 games all season.

I'd hate to sack OGS - not because it's OGS, but because sacking the manager every couple of years is an admission of a club that's lost its way and is on a very slippery downwars slope.

But that stat says we can't carry on like this. Something's got to give.

I don't care whether it's the Owners, the CEO, the Manager, the Coaches, or the players.
