This is the worst it's ever been. Worse than Moyes, far worse than LVG & Jose. 18 months ago we were 2nd with a 60odd% win rate, now we are 9th with a 27% win rate.

The owners & board are the same as they were when we were 2nd. How can any of you think Ole isn't to blame? He is taking us backwards.

If we stick by Ole, how can we possibly improve from here? What's the plan? I don't see us going big in the window, so what the hell are they expecting to happen.

What the hell do we do. Hope that Ole comes good, when he is showing absolutely no sign of it happening. That they spend even more money and most likely make the team even worse, if that is possible. The club is rotten from top to bottom. The whole lot need clearing out. Useless administrators, useless scouts, useless manager, useless coaches. They are USELESS.
So you think keeping a manager who drowning at this level is the solution? Sacking Ole doesn't mean we shouldn't solve other issues but he is the immediate problem and has to go. After that the Glazers have to bring in a competent and proven DOF to start planning our next moves for the second half of the season, the summer and the upcoming season. This is done.
Ole won't be here next season and rightly so because he's completely out of his depth. But the reality is that he's the tip of the iceberg. Stuff like "he's the dinosaur responsible for ruining our club" is nonsense and just shows that people still to this day haven't understood the underlying issues. The club has been ruined for years now thanks to Woodward and Glazers.

Poorly formatted post
I just looked at your next two league fixtures (Spurs and Man City) and think it's very possible that there's someone else in charge against Everton on 15/12.

If you take a couple of hidings then he is gone, right?
I reckon so yeah, regardless of the briefings to The Athletic. People forget how much publicity these next two games will bring - our sponsors and major shareholders are not gonna be happy when we lose both handily and are around 13-14th in the table going into the congested Xmas period. There's a VERY real chance we'll be in the relegation zone over Xmas. That will be too big of a risk, I see the board sacking him this time next week.

6 points from the relegation zone. 22 points from the top. Progress.
Terrifying. Worst manager we've ever had, in context.

Then they will deserve everything they get.
Yep. I don't believe it really mate. Moyes kept harping on about his 6yr contract and how he didn't fear the sack at all, talking about summer signings - 2wks later, sacked. LVG won the FA Cup - sacked the following day.

Briefings mean nothing.

They're all to blame. Just because people want rid of Ole, doesn't mean they think the rest isn't a problem.
If the fanbase was half as vocal towards getting rid of Woodward as they are towards every useless manager, maybe we wouldn't be finding ourselves in this position year after year. Where is the scrutiny on Woodward? If there was constant fan pressure (protests leading to strong media scrutiny) the club would have been forced to act one way or another. Either sack Woodward or hire a proper DoF. But our fans much rather prefer to use all their negative energy on the managers instead of the clueless clowns responsible for hiring said managers. Ole will be gone soon enough but Woodward will remain and continue taking the club further in the gutter as he has been doing for almost seven years. And the fans will be oblivious to it because by that point they'll be calling for the head of Woodward's next genius appointment.

I don't know why the board believes in him this much?
I would understand if it was Mourinho or LVG who have great cv and you know what you can get but sticking at all cost with this failed Cardiff "manager" is madness.

This is the obvious flaw in the masterplan. There is no logical reason for this to be the one we actually stick with and give the time to.

Anyone knows how much he's on ? Winston Bogarde was more useful to Chelsea and he didn't even play for years.

Probably the ‘worst’ kind of games if anyone wants him gone - we’ve been plucky underdog gameraisers for a little while, so these sort of fixtures suit us. Can’t see any batterings - close games score wise is what I’d expect.

It’s the relegation-bound teams of the world we mostly look embarrassing against.

I just feel fecking drained man. I have defended Ole up until now but i just cant do it any longer. Hopefully he walks before this gets any worse and hopefully he tells the whole world what a fecking bellend Woodward is. I felt bad for LvG when he was sacked after winning the FA cup, i felt bad for Jose when he did not get the backing he needed and i feel bad for Ole because he got thrown into a job he did not have the skills to handle

These fecking players are getting on my nerves though. Why did they play with so much heart and passion right when Ole was appointed and now cant even seem arsed? Getting paid million each year and playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world isn't enough? Its a fecking disgrace
Why has one game against Villa made you change your mind?, you said we were improving last week and now he doesn’t have the skills to handle the job.

I’d love Ole to walk and be able to telll it how it is but he’ll wait for his payoff and who blame him. Woodward will get away without any blame, especially if he is able to go and get Poch straight away.

One of the most ridiculous things is "we choose this rebuilding, domestic, young players phase" defence of Solskjaer, most prominent by Gary Neville. It implies that nobody else can do this and it is baffling.

99% of managers are doing this every year. If you are not manager of Barcelona, Real Madrid, City, Bayern, PSG you are constantly rebuilding and developing your squad. Feck it, Pochettino already did that in every job he had, in Espanyol, Southampton, Tottenham. To presume that only Ole is competent fot that and that we would need to change this direction if somebody else comes is just laughably wrong.

I love Ole for everything that he did, but this needs to stop. The rest od the staff needs to go also.

Self proclaimed 't0p reds' mate, who deserve mediocrity in all honesty. This run has really shown us the worst side of our fans. These deluded fans I'd argue are worse than the Twatter 'Ole out' from day 1 fans who get criticised so much.
Yes... fans who want to support the manager are worse than people who were on social media wanting Ole out before he'd even started - I've heard it all now.

I agree with you on one thing though, this run has shown us the worst of our 'fans'. Spoiled, entitled and ashamed of nothing.

League games

14 Games
4 wins

No other stat is needed to make it clear that is unacceptable, Manchester United should not only be winning four games from fourteen. On top of that poor record his next two games are Spurs and City.

This could be an horrific situation come Saturday night and as much as I love Ole it's 100% time to look at another option, Wilder, Dyche and Hodgson are pushing weaker squads with just as good a results as Ole and that's just not acceptable.

because he is giving them what they want to hear with the United way and youth and the badge. They hope he will turn out to be Fergie and change the sacking culture with a cheap long term employment.

Perfect manager for the owners. With him they don’t have the pressure to be successful as large parts of the fanbase would still support OGS if we’d finish 15. Perfect job for OGS - No targets to meet, no ambition & no pressure, because the league table "will look after itself".

Well don't tar everyone with the same brush. I've no issue with people criticising Ole as a manager when done with respect, but you have to understand that a large section of our support (myself included) will support a united manager until they are no longer the manager. This isn't about being a top red, it's just the way many of us were brought up. I'm an out of town united fan and I get to OT about once per season on average. My first United game was away to Southampton in 1987. I was a kid but I learned a lot about the culture and the dos and don'ts of being a United fan and have learned more over the years and I've made a few pals along the way who are die hard united fans whose dedication to following the club is admirable, passionate and humbling. Many of those would choose to support the manager - especially this manager due to his status as a legend of a player with whom they have a relationship built over watching first-hand his entire playing career.

Ole is a man who turned down pay increases elsewhere to stay at United and even turned down a pay increase when signing a new contract. He deserves our support and our respect.

We have issues but even with those issues we have done and are better than this. The issues need to be solved for us to operate at our true level of potential but that doesn't mean we can't demand improvements.

To exhibit how awake fans are to the issues look at how the DOF thread ran on nothing but fumes. It still has to be done but surely we can't keep an inept manager because of just that.

Sorry, where was this? Because Ole was getting 0 offers other than United, nor will he when this bad experiment is ended. As a player and club legend he will get all the respect in the World, but as a manager he deserves 0 respect because he has not earned that. Nor will he if we are being realistic.

Sounds like they're almost obnoxiously giving the fans what they want.
Our fans deserve it to be honest. At some point this cult like worship we have of our managers needs to stop. This isn’t exclusive to Ole of course, it’s been going on since Moyes and I’m not sure what it will take to make so much of our fanbase realize that just because someone is our manager it doesn’t mean that if we give them a 20 year contract they will turn into Sir Alex.

Because the improvement i thought i saw vs Norwich and Brighton turned out to be nothing. I thought we had looked slightly better since Liverpool, but it was just random it seems. One step forward and one step back

If Villa had robbed us like Palace did and we preformed really well it might have been different, but at the end of the day they deserved the point as much as we did and that is just fecking depressing

For some strange reason he still has the players and hasn't lost the dressing room yet.

The tactics are non existent, but the players still put a shift in - whether or not this is enough and the quality behind it is another matter.

When the heads drop and they want him out(like under past managers) things will get really ugly, especially during the busiest time of the season.
This is one of the key reasons i stood by him for so long. This whole thing just leaves a bad taste in my mouth really. Granted they have not downed tools yet, but they sure as feck dont seem focused and sharp either.

He's not lost the dressing room, the players are still playing for him, but they look clueless, I see no real plan. I think they probably want him to succeed as much as the fans, but he's simply not up to the task, he never was, its not his fault really, the blame is the board for going with him.

Irrespective of whether we think he should go or not, I think we all know the owners will act. I think it’s very doubtful we will get anything from the next two games which will leave us just outside relegation zone at half way stage of the league. They will panic at that and all this talk of trust and cultural reboot will be out the window -he’ll be gone. So, my guess is, a week today and that will be it.

A DoF and new coaches maybe? If the owners decide to keep him they have to do something, because this clearly is not working out too well

Also we need massive January spending. If we dont spend in January they are clearly just talking bollocks

Just give him the job for life then, he scored against Bayern in stoppage time. Rename the club and stadium after him.

Some are getting desperate. There are cracks and doubts appearing

Surely, and I mean surely, we aren't still at the stage whereby people are having trouble differentiating Ole the player and Ole the manager? I mean, one was a very good player who became a club legend. The other, is a really poor manager who has no business managing at the top level. When he inevitably leaves pretty soon, I will just remember him fondly as a player and forget this whole management experiment ever happened.

People say he's the worst manager in the league and on first viewing, that looks a crazy statement. But when you delve further, you could argue that he is literally the worst manager and the league and he's managing a club with aspirations to get back to the top. Not a lot of sense here.

It likewise can be argued that those who point all issues to the manager deserve it by an equal amount. That's 4 managers now that have failed since Fergie retired, when will the main focus be directed at the overlying issue?

There is no single overlying issue. The manager isn't good enough, the squad needs additions, our board aren't decisive enough. There are multiple issues, but an manager who is nowhere near good enough is certainly not going to be part of the solution.

One possible reason is that the players are ok in a situation like this with zero expectations? I mean no doubt players like Pereira and Lingard will put a shift when it means they will get brand new contracts on a salary they won’t get anywhere else, on top of constant game time and no consequences if they are shit as the planning(or lack of it) means no competition for their spot..

Its quite obvious, to me.

He enables their mediocrity. He refuses to make them accountable for their failings. Of course a weak, spineless squad are going to rally around a manager who constantly justifies their combination of below-par performances + massive salaries.

They think they've died and gone to heaven with this guy.

Human beings deserve a certain level of respect anyway. Ole deserves respect even when being criticised. It's really not that hard to understand is it?

People calling him Golem and the like? You think that's acceptable?

He's been in charge for a calendar year and after drawing at home to relegation fodder, who deserved everything they got, the best he can come up with it "the boys are closer to winning games than losing them".

Spoken like a true participation trophy winner. One of life's participants. He would look out of his depth managing someone like Sheff Wednesday
