Meh sounds like a regen title from the old films. They had to change from the one word titles I guess, couldn't have another beginning with 'S' like 'Shatterhand' which was the working title. I think that sounds better now though.

It’s just a title.. Not the most creative title but whatever. I have faith that Cary Fukunaga can deliver a good movie.

Everyone would have lost their minds when "The Man with the Golden Gun" was announced.

It’ll always be Shatterhand to me.

“Shat-ter-hand (do doo dooo)
He’s the man
The man who shat in his hand!
It - wasn’t - planned”

Most, if not all the Bond films have plots taken from other films and the novels. Looks like he’s wearing his suits a size too small again and they have wheeled out the Aston again. Sky fall is the only Craig Bond I liked, Spectre was shocking in comparison.

I thought Casino Royale was excellent. Definitely one of the best Bond films.

Yeah for me it's the best bond film.

My favourite good/bad bond film though is Goldeneye . Mixtures between fantastic and pop.

Fantastic: Sean Bean. "I am Invincible!". Opening. The bond girl. Judi dench. The plot is actually good. The tank scene. For England James?. You have the same 6 minutes you gave me. The pen scene

Medicocre: music. Goldeneye itself (I like it but others don't).

The bad: Samantha Onotup. The "romance". The cheese.

Martin Campbell directed this and Casino Royalo. The best Brosnan and Craig bond films.

Looking forward to craig leaving as i have not liked his James Bond even though i enjoyed his non Bond films . He comes across as hating the role and it shows he is only doing it for the money . He is like the Jose Mourinho of Bond films

That said is it a done deal he will be replaced by Lashana Lynch ? That seems a really good move to me and would make the next films a lot more exciting to see

Goldeneye is a good shout. Would echo all you said above. Didn't know Martin Campbell was director for both. I like his work.

I strongly disagree. We’re taking about the iconic character of James Bond.

As much as I’d support a black woman in the role (if only to see all the right people’s heads explode) I’m pretty sure she’s just 007 in a supporting role for this film (i.e he retires at the start, she takes his number as a completely different agent, she dies, he takes it back at the end, etc....)

Really don't get this as its a fictional character that can be played by anyone.

It would be the same outcry if Idris took over .

Personally Lashana makes a better Bond than Craig does

James Bond can’t really become a woman though, that’s just daft.

What they’ve apparently done with this one in reassigning the ‘007’ code name to a woman works fine and is a cool idea, but you can’t just randomly decide that James Bond is now a woman. That’s got nothing to do with bemoaning “PC culture gone mad” or any of that bollocks, it just wouldn’t work in this instance.

Idris Elba would have made a great Bond if they’d cast him a few years ago, but he’s too old now. By the time they’re making another one he’ll be the same age Daniel Craig is now, and you want the next casting choice to do at least 3 or 4 movies.

To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if it's just hype and Lashana's character dies in this film .

Hasn't it already been established during the series that James Bond and 007 is just a code name and anyone can be that agent so it shouldn't matter who does it

As for Idris he should have gotten the role earlier but even so there's no reason he can't play the role in his 50s . I'm sure Moore and Connery were in their 50s playing Bond .

007 is an assigned code name, but not “James Bond” - or at least not to my knowledge.

Yea they were too old! The movies are different now too, it just wouldn’t really work, Daniel Craig is pushing it now.

Just get Keanu Reeves in, he can play Bond for the next twenty years or so easily.

The "00" is the section of agents within the MI6 / Secret Intelligence Service that have the license to kill. There are obviously other 00 agents, but the most well-known is 007 and the agent who happens to have occupied this agent number/code is James Bond. So yes, James Bond cannot magically become a woman, however a woman can definitely take over the agent number/code of 007.
