He's said today he wants to manage in Europe again.
I suppose England isn’t in Europe then
He also said that while in Argentina, just to clarify what he meant.

He also stated that he doesn’t need much time to recover

I know, I was replying to someone who asked if there was a chance he’d want the Argentina job.

I have some questions about Pochettino because i really didn't pay much attention to his work at Tottenham. So if any one cares to answer them.

1) Can Pochettino work without a DOF

2) Is he capable of leading a rebuild successfully and why do people think so.

3) Is he the type to clear out the deadwood. I mean will he come here and renew Pereira's contract because he's from the academy.

4) Is he in charge of transfers. And if he is what's the success rate.

5) Can he give the hair dryer treatment when needed.

6) Are his ingame tactics good. Can he adapt when we're in a losing situation

7) I also heard he doesn't often make early substitutions. How true is that?
1) He prefers total control.

2) He is good with rebuilding from with in the club, his transfers have the same hi and miss rate as most managers.

3) He will kick out those who he deems incompatible with his philosophy.

4) See above.

5) He isn't the hairdryer type.

6) That's one of his major weaknesses in my opinion.

So I'm certainly no expert on Pochettino, but over the past several years I've obviously seen quite a few Spurs matches.

I think he's quite clearly a better manager than Ole who would get better results than Ole.

However, I'm not sure I'd be completely happy with the team he builds either based on what he did at Spurs.

I'm not sure about the defense he used and he tended to use a physical player in DM which is a lot like Mourinho did.

Ultimately despite still having concerns over what he may like to have in his team, I think he'd get us more points and could see him getting us in the top 4. So I can only see it as being a good thing. But I'd probably prefer someone like Ten Haag

Will be the summer, could be a long list of clubs wanting a club, Munich, Real, PSG, my money is on PSG.
Guaranteed Ligue 1 winners. But look what happened to Emery

If he wants to increase his stock, Utd should be on his radar and we should make contact

Definitely I agree I have said before if given time he will definitely turn you around, but all I see on here is "give him the money he cant refuse", you will need more than money to convince him, can Woody sell it? An adult version of Disneyland simply wont cut it.

1) Can Pochettino work without a DOF - Yes he did at Spurs

2) Is he capable of leading a rebuild successfully and why do people think so. - Yes because he did at Spurs

3) Is he the type to clear out the deadwood. I mean will he come here and renew Pereira's contract because he's from the academy. - Yes he cleared out several experienced players at Spurs who he didn't want

4) Is he in charge of transfers. And if he is what's the success rate. - About average, hit and miss

5) Can he give the hair dryer treatment when needed. - No idea to be honest

6) Are his ingame tactics good. Can he adapt when we're in a losing situation - Not great, he is very fixed on a system and tends to not adapt depending on the opposition

7) I also heard he doesn't often make early substitutions. How true is that? - This is true, often I found myself screaming at the TV for him to make a sub prior to 70/80 mins when he tended to do them.

I’m not sure the hairdryer treatment works anymore. Players have so much power and money, they just move on

I really don't know why he doesn't float my boat - the only time he did was back when he got the best out of players like Dier & Wanyama in a 352 - ever since, his football is a bit bland and Mourinho like with the 'art' coming from a few players like Son.

I wouldn't complain if he arrived but neither would I see him as a second coming from what I have seen so far. Really do prefer some of the managers abroad like the Ajax one doing well in the CL.

Guess you missed Jurgen Klopps last year at Dortmund. They were complete garbage.
And by what you’re saying Poch’ first four seasons at spurs should basically be ignored.

I don’t really get people questioning Poch, all these straw man arguments, about how Spurs were top 4 before he came, about him not winning a trophy, the last 18 months etc etc.

Before Poch came to Spurs the last time they finished in the top three in the league was 25 years ago.
He finished in the top three with Spurs three years in a row playing a very good brand of modern football, developing young talent. It’s fecking obvious that he’s a great coach, under him players like Walker, Alderweireld, Eriksen, Ali, Son, Vertonghen, Dembele, became elite Premier League players. I don’t remember many big clubs bending over backwards to sign any of these players six years ago.
It’s no easy feet finishing in the Top 4 of the Pl four years in a row. Only Man City have done it, spending about twenty times the amount Spurs have in that same period.
I’m just staggered that people think he wouldn’t be a good fit.
I don’t even care about the lack of trophies, what this club so badly needs is not the odd cup win, we need a good footballing coach, someone who with time has proven emphatically that he can mould and develop a team to a high standard.

I’m tired of either clueless or rigid coaches. A lot of United fans just want some good football again. Im sick and tired of seeing a clueless team out there every fecking week because of our horrible horrible coaches. A lot just want to see United look like a functioning team again, a team with an actual plan and style and if there are people denying Poch achieved this comfortably for most of his reign at Spurs than they’re fecking idiots to put it bluntly.

Absolutely stupid to judge him based on the last 18 months(which his team btw still managed to drag themselves to a top 4 finish and Cl final, something that’s a pipe dream for this current United). I mean seriously, people are turning their noses up at that with the absolute monstrosity that is this United team under Ole which is more likely to finish this season in the bottom half. Good grief..
Poch didn't improve Spurs one bit the first 2 seasons in terms of points - the qualify of the other teams around Spurs dropped so they improved 1-2 positions on the table. Then he had one season (the first and only season in his career) where he did exceptionally well - and I admit it, they were REALLY good then. And as I have said time and time again - if this was the time I was judging Poch on - I wouldn't be negative. But it has been downhill ever since....and look what Spurs look like today ? With Kane, Son, Eriksen, Alli, Ndombele, Moura.

Not judge him on the last 18 months ? And you are calling me a fecking idiot for not agreeing with you ? Not judge him on the last 18 months ????? Of course he should be judged on the last 18 months - he had the 2nd best team in England and drove them straight into mediocrity. It was straight off the Cliff, even more spectacularly than Mourinho did with United. And yes - he did drag them to the C.L - simply because the teams they competed against collapsed just as much. But things didn't exactly improve over the summer, did they ?

I am yet to hear one decent explanation why it happened from the people who want Pochettino as our manager. Some people use the word cycle - BLAH. First he took 2 years to turn Spurs from very good to excellent - excellent for one year, before nosediving into mediocrity. And on top of everything - leaving the club with Eriksen wanting out, and 4 defenders who aren't good enough. Is this REALLY the cycle you want for United ?

We are going to regret not appointing him as our manager. Top clubs act swiftly.

What about bring in Poch as the Manager and push Ole up to the DOF role? Ole has shown that he has a clear vision on how Man Utd should play, his recruitments have been good.. its the best of both worlds really. If I was Ed I would really try to explore this option.

Pochettino wouldn't work under a DoF.

If there's one thing rival fans should really have noticed, it's that he's moaned about stuff like that constantly for his whole time at spurs.

He wants full control, but shouldn't really have it as he's not got the ability.

It's Spurs. If he doesn't want to work under DoF then he can rule out working for any big club except United.

Every club have DoF and they are integral part of the set up.

As much as I like and rate Pochettino, the more I think about the idea the more sceptical I am about it.

I’d be concerned that it’s another case of right man at the wrong time. He’s been at Spurs for 5 years and surely now wants a bit of success. We’re not ready to win yet and I think that could be a big frustration for him, especially as he’s always beaten with the “no trophies” stick in the media.

We need someone to do for us the kind of job he did at Spurs (with some big trophies added) but maybe he’s not the guy.

I would rather we put our trust in Ole right now.

As did spurs and he didn't like it. He moaned until Baldini left, and then moaned until Mitchell left.

Man Utd haven't had a DoF before, so your assertion is flawed. Lots of clubs don't. Fact it's, he'll moan about it anywhere else, too.

Moreso at United, as Woodward seems to interfere more than DL did (certainly in the public forum)

Read that Everton are interested...
Would be ideal job for him where he could last as long in that job as he did with Spurs and if he led Everton to midtable the media would be giving him high praise once more. Everton well use to not winning any trophies also.

If he wants to be rated, clearly he has to take some team in lower lower league and win champion title.

Amongst footballing managerial 'Gods'
If he comes to United, there should be three players that should come with him. Kane, Son, and N’Dombele. Maybe even Ali, Winks or Forsyth. These players amongst a few other share emotional feelings for Poch and they will jump at the chance to play under him again, especially as United can double their current salary easily.
