Please now Ole turn that performance into Everton at home and then after that.

No point us playing like this and then dropping points to shitters.
Stop being so idiotic. We aren't winning the league this year, the team will be prone to losing games it shouldn't, that's called inconsistency and to be expected given the lack of quality depth and inexperience in the squad.

But what we have seen plenty of evidence since OGS arrived that his teams are capable of beating the very best teams and playing some very attractive and fast football. Consistency will come with more correct incoming signings, and time on the training ground, eliminating inconsistencies from our approach.

This season is a free pass, I expect a solid top 4 delivery next season, and really challenge for the title year after that. I'm signed up to that program: it's progressive and as fast as we can go, given our start point, resources available and level of competition.

Moaners and critics are those who have totally unreasonable and unrealistic expectations. I'd suggest they concentrate on their own Football Manager careers on their PC and not bother with the real thing.

#OleIn.

Again the players came out to do it for Ole, and you love to see it right?

All the s-t people have said about him being a PE teacher, not up to it. In four days he's beat Jose and Pep. How'd you like them apples?

If the board backs him, provides more depth in midfield, more competition in forward areas, Solskjaer will be a success.

BELIEVE.

You've obviously never actually played football if you think we could continue our first half performance
As I said, I am not talking only about today. We do it every single time. I am sure we could try to cross the halfway more often.

I said if he lost both he should be gone, he won both so i'll eat my crow on that. Just frustrating that see us win matches against Spurs and City but drop points against Bournemouth, Sheffield and Villa, games we should have won and had we won would be sitting 4th 2 points ahead of Chelsea

Huge couple of wins, struggle to see him doing particularly well in the longer term but might manage to salvage something mildly respectable this year if our improvement continues. Still a bit wary though that our overall downturn in form means that suddenly a couple of wins on the bounce are perceived as some great turnaround...but a win away to City is superb no matter what way you look at it.

I admit I was one of the fans that wanted Ole out before Spurs and City games but fair play to him getting this squad of players up for both games. Smashing performance from all the players. He needs 3/4 windows to get in a good squad. Just hope the board back him. We were great to watch in 1st 25 mins, devestating on counter attack but we do rely on teams that open up. I just want us to mix it up and punish teams that sit deep cuz this is where we struggle. This part needs addressing. Confidence sky high now in this group of players let's not ruin it by not beating Everton.

Only team to have got points from current team in 1st spot (lets not mention whom!)

Have also beaten the teams currently in 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th places.

If we had brought Fernandes we would probably be well inside the top 4. All we need is that player to unlock defensive sides.

Overall you have to give credit to Ole. He is doing the best he can with what we have. Yes some questionable game management and taking the safe option which many managers do, but can often bite you, but you have to allow a certain amount of learning on the job.

Idiotic? Who said anything about winning the league? Stop making shit up.

Read what I said it’s pointless if we don’t build on these games. We dropping points to Villa and co which we shouldn’t be doing. Conceding soft goals. We didn’t just drop points to Villa and Sheffield United. We were outplayed for most the game.

Yep. The inconsistencies are fine for now (IMO). As you've said, having a young squad sort of allows that happen. But, the wins against the big sides is where Ole and the squad show their strengths. That seems to be where we are the most consistent.

Is it too much to ask for people to get behind this man?

Jose and Pep taken out in 3 days. Time to start taking him seriously.

Now he needs to be backed in the window. All his signings we great again tonight.
If we manage to improve our chance creation against the lesser teams I'll be fully on board. I'm hoping the return of Pogba could solve some of these problems. Let's be honest, without him we do not really have an attacking lineup that's much better (if even better at all) than teams like Leicester, Everton and West Ham.

YESSSS Ole beating Jose and Pep within a couple of days with kids on the pitch with some awesome counterattacking.

That’s Manchester United right there folks.

I’ve been repeatedly mentioning the little positives that are there amongst a tough season but this squad is threadbare compared to past managers and Ole is somehow beating the bigger teams.

A few quality additions and let’s start beating the low block lesser teams.

Get in Ole lad!!!!
Ole has had some tough results and really this will be a tough season with lots of growing pains. Ole is a romantic appointment who gets the culture and wants to promote youth.... is it flawed thinking? very. But then again a fancy new manager throwing loads more dosh at the problem was also a huge risk. So Ed has pinned his hopes on Ole performing a miracle.

Not seeing any other option I was happy to back the Manager and players to gut things out and give us the miracle we need. After the last couple of performances it does allow me to renew my faith. Our young players and patchy squad with the ex manager of Molde are taking on some the absolute best managers and teams in football and winning.

Let's see where this takes us.

Credit where credit is due to Ole in the last two performances. I think he exceeded everybody’s expectations. When we play games where we should counter attack, our team is brilliant.

What would win me over totally is to consistently win the games where we don’t have the option to counter attack and where we have to come up with other tactics.

No its not pointless. I'm not sure if you understand how team evolution in any industry works?

First you need to be able to do your best. Demonstrate what your best is. Once you do that, the challenge is to be able to repeat that as much as possible. Eventually reaching a stage where you perform at your very best more often than not. That takes time, investment and empathy.

We will be outplayed and lose games we shouldn't this year, and I'll be fine with that, because I know at our best we can beat anyone.

Beat Chelsea home and away.
Beat City away.
Beat PSG away.
Beat Spurs home and away.
Only side to take points off of Liverpool.

And some still think he is crap...

We need one or two more players with good creativity and we will resolve our problems with low blocks.

Well done to Ole for turning it around. Can't wait to see this team with Pogba instead of Lingard in an attacking role.

Hopefully we can bring in a player or two in January which should set us up nicely for a 4th place challenge in the second half of the season.

If Woodward's really not keen on sacking Ole, he should back him in January with immediate effect. Can't just give up on season like that after dominating Jose and Pep in matter of days.

Decision is on board, but if they make a wrong one, the club can sink much lower.

Bloody hell.

Ole waving at Fergie, Gill and Sir Bobby.. and getting the thumbs up from Lady Charlton .

That made me smile..

I love how Gill is still around.. Bring him back.. feck off Woodward.
Dang, why does this remind me of the Rodgers' "How am I doing?" meme?

Chuffed for the team tonight. We had the chance to utterly humiliate them in the 1st half. Probably the best time to play them to be fair.

On the day when both players and manager did themselves proud your conclusion is only the manager is deserving of any credit.

No the players deserve more but it's a ole thread and we are talking about the manager who sets the tone

When we start turning up against any team that isn't in the top six, then we can say there's been some progress.

If we carry this form on until January then fair does, Ole will get the rest of the season it would seem.

It is pointless because he won’t be in the job longer if you think us dropping points to the smaller teams is going to mean he’d be here long term, Mr Potchetinnos number 1 fan.

Glazers care about champions league. Otherwise we would have kept LVG because he was winning big games too. But he wasn’t building on it against the smaller teams.

We not only dropping points to these teams, we getting outplayed by them. Transfers or no transfers, we have better players than all these teams, so should be more dominant regardless of the results.

why?

genuinely, why do that?

It was fair enough to want Ole out. Results were bad. Some people were unable to see beyond that, hopefully they will learn for next time.

let’s not divide. Let’s now welcome our fellow fans behind the reds... it’s fecking exciting isn’t it?

Really hope he gets backed in the January window. The bench we had today was really poor.

I've not been a fan of Ole and wanted Poch to be hired when Ole was given the contract but he hasn't been as bad as I'd thought. Still, we need creative talent to unlock smaller team defenses. I really hope he is able to add some depth in January for a top four challenge

Exactly, this is how an adult reacts, too many people on here desperate to score points against strangers on the internet. Let’s be united, we all want Ole to be a success, some are just more skeptical than others.
We’ve had a fantastic few days, everyone should just enjoy it.

Felt the same way. Not so much from a tactical standpoint, but rather the willingness of the players to get behind their manager in a very tough time. And that's what we've seen. If he's got the team behind him and they're able to rally like this, there's hope yet. I'm happy to eat my words and back him til the season ends. BUT Woodward needs to strengthen this squad immediately. THIS January itself.

Mr Potchetinnos number 1 fan. is sarcasm from @Damien I don't rate him at all. Regardless, what does that have to do with anything?

And no, OGS is not getting sacked this season, no matter what happens now. So better you get used to that, and stop whinging every time the team cant meet your unrealistic standards.

Meanwhile I'll enjoy watching our team evolve and improve ... its a great ride. You really should embrace it.

Unrealistic standards? Again stop making shit up. Which you seem to have a habit of doing, so well done on that.

It’s not unrealistic to expect us to dominate two newly promoted teams that we have better teams than.

Agree. Needs at least 3 in January to get us through 2nd half of season and then a good summer. 3 in January must include creative spark and a goalscorer. CM, Creative player and CF.

Ed MUST back Ole now in the January window. Go big for somebody in midfield.

It's clear to see that this team have a spark in them, they have the capability of performing like tonight in those first 35 minutes, we need the consistency now.

What we need to do is nurture this side, take the next step in order to keep the consistency we need and the quality we need to break down defensive 'lesser' sides.

We are sorted for now defensively, Bring back Smalling ASAP and add him into the mix.

Offensively our forwards could do with one addition but that can wait until summer.

Midfield, If we can get one, or ideally two, class additions in midfield in January we would see our consistency improve tremendously in my opinion. Ideally a DM and AM. A creator is a must to help us break down teams. Eriksen anyone?

Ole is getting a tune out of Fred, looks a different player, McTominay improving also, Rashford having his best ever season. Link up in attack and the speed of transition in the counterattack is electric.

I know there have been some real low spells but we've also seen what we are capable of and importantly we have felt like a Manchester United team when we do have the good spells. Those first 30 minutes today felt more like United than anything I can remember in the last 5 years.
