Pretty sure CDPR said they're done with Geralt. I think The Witcher books have loads of side stories and mini stories so they have plenty of other material to work with.
And that's a good thing. I certainly don't want any more Geralt. He's had this time.

My dream would be a prequel, from the time of the first Witchers.

That would be cool.

I'd also love if they made a game where you played as a Sorceress, plenty of potential there given their powers.

That could work, too, though they're not as unique as witchers - it'd feel a lot more like generic fantasy if your character was simply a mage. But the world itself, with clever writing, could carry the concept.

Hope they make more Witcher game with Geralt. It'll be great to play as him on next generation hardware.

I feel this may be more spin offs than a Witcher 4 e.g. the Gwent game.

However, if they do make a Witcher 4 on next gen, it would be absolutely incredible.
I think it’s more of a, 5-6 years from now, there will be another big game in the Witcher lore/world, but not necessarily have anything to do with Geralt.

Probably on the lower end of that timescale, right? The announcement was aimed at investors letting them know CDPR is expanding staff to work on multiple projects at once so there’s not long dips on big rollouts.

Hmm, perhaps.

Even if they boost their staff, I think large timeframes are natural.

There is going to be just under 5 years between The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, for instance.

Let's say 4 years. I don't think I'd do go much lower than that.

More like 4 years between Blood and Wine and Cyberpunk (B&W while only a DLC was almost 30 hours long, which is almost a game), but point stands. Games have become so big and detailed, that they need 5 years or so to be developed.

It's funny. Witcher 3 is in my top 2 of all time and I've never played 1 and 2. They're playable only on PC right?
Sure. TW2 looks and feels kind of similar to TW3. TW1 looks its age but it still has beautiful scenes due to great attention to detail and nicely assembled gameworld, and it plays completely different to the others. It's still tied with TW3 B&W for my favorite in the series, but I doubt whether it can have the same effect for players who started with the third.

The Witcher 2 s mechanics feel very constricted after the Witcher 3. I couldn't go back to it to be honest. At least I got pretty far. TW1 was superior in a way bc the restrictions in it made it feel more like a Zelda like rpg. Story wise though they re both great as well.

Someone made a pretty good video where they stitched all the storyline cutscenes etc together so you can get caught up on the story preceding TW3. Might make ya appreciate it a bit more because certain characters make cameos and certain references are made in dialogs you otherwise wouldn't get.

2 is a fantastic game, but I'm not sure how well it's aged.

The only real problem I remember with it is the inverse difficulty progression. The tutorial and start of the game are a bit of a bitch, but by the end it's pretty easy.

Great story and world building. The atmosphere in the opening village, Flotsam, blew me away back in the day.

Anyone know how to "Destroy Whoreson Junior's Arena"? I'm level 19 and killed Junior ages ago. Something weird happened though where this quest (Gangs of Novigrad) and Get Junior got mixed up somehow. Anyways the guide thingy is having me stand outside the arena but there's nobody there? Used my witcher senses and don't see anything. Killed everyone in the casino and arena fecking ages ago. Wouldn't even mind failing the quest just to get rid of it from my list. Try talking to Cleaver but he doesn't say anything quest related. Any help would be appreciated.

Iirc Gangs of Novigrad is given to you by Cleaver and should fail automatically if you deal with Junior without going to Cleaver and taking his men along. Seems to be a bug with both quests.

Witcher 2 should hold up. Witcher 1 however, unless you're a die hard, might be a little bit dated.

After dropping in and out of this on about 4 different occasions, i've finally completed the main story.

Incredible game. There were some dull moments and some mandatory quests that felt points (I hated the small section with Uma at Kaer Mohren for example), but overall it was great. Story really gets good towards the end, and the Wild Hunt are cool as feck.

The two DLC's have arguably much better stories and I enjoyed them even more. They're better and longer than a lot of full games.

I am still sitting on the Blood and Wine DLC. Unfortunately I lost my save game somehow from when I completed the main game and the other DLC - which made me hesitant to start B&W because it wouldn't feel like "my" to Geralt. Guess I'm weird. Keep hearing how Blood and Wine is fantastic though - the first DLC was epic in its own right.

The controls are clunky as feck in this. Geralt moves way too fast on this, trying to loot stuff is a fecking nightmare.

Never understood the problem. Are you on mouse/keyboard or controller? Aiming with the mouse was always fine for me.

Definitely booting this up again after the watching the series, going for an alchemy + combat build.

I'm console. It's not great imo and there seems to be a lot of others who experienced judging by reddit.

I loved blood and wine. It added an entirely new world (their version of France: Toussaint). Honestly it was like a renaissance, especially once you left the dark and terror of Velen behind.

Well worth it.

Agree with this, the Toussaint area has a completely different feel to the rest of the game, really helps keep things fresh (although I have to admit I didn't get round to finishing Blood and Wine). Will play the whole thing through again in the New Year and finally polish it off.

I just did. Played through the memory Geralt and Yennefer in the tub and then Geralt practicing with Ciri. Also noticed that people are calling him "The Butcher of Blaviken".

Just entered White Orchard and had the conversation with Gaunter O' Dinn. I am enjoying this thoroughly in my second play through.

I got to the Bloody Baron some days ago, but can’t advance because I just keep playing Gwent.

How the feck do I beat the Toad Prince in Hearts of Stone? Can’t lay a scratch on him!!!

(Worth noting that after finishing main quest on PC, I started a new game from HoS on Xbox so that I could play in living room over Christmas period - point I’m trying to make is that I have all ability points to spend but no gear atm).

It's no help but I remember being an absolute bastard... Hardest fight in the game.

I think I got past it with a lot of Quen and a lot of traps, but can't really remember.

I thought the Toad and one of the other bosses in Hearts of Stone which I won't spoil were the hardest. Last boss in Blood and Wine was a bit of a bitch too.
