Racism. From top to bottom.

Zlatan hit a nerve long time ago and the Swedish political establishment and the media couldn’t handle it. From Zero to hero and then back to this. I swear to God I saw this coming almost ten years ago. What the mob do more or less the same as the establishment, just in a different way.
Racism?

He has faced more than his share of racism, but what is happening now is not racism. This is the type of hate you can only get from people who used to love you. The racists have always hated him.

Zlatan can't do it on the pitch any longer so he needs the attention. He's also got a massive chip on his shoulder for the way he was treated by Swedish parents when he was a nipper and wouldn't pass the ball to their kids. All Swedish kids parents follow their offspring from the sidelines and shout at the ref, the opposition and everybody else. Zlatan's old man wasn't there to back him up so he had to take the brunt of the "svenne" critism. That didn't make him change as he still got the same treatment from his older Swedish teamates when he came through at Malmo. He's always done his own thing and doesn't give a feck about the establishment. On top of that he still believes Malmo screwed him when they sold him to Ajax.
The other week he insinuated the Swedish national team manager is a racist. No secret Zlatan sympathises with the foreign contingent in Sweden which is understandable considering his childhood and background. He's just putting one over on his mother club. He's invested in a Stockholm club who have many foreign players and at the same time caused a sensation which is what he wants. Brilliant!

Zlatans statue has had its nose cut off today, its also been sprayed with silver, police investigating again. The artist who spent 4 years working on the statue is fuming after the latest attacks on the statue.

Police investigating.

Heading back to AC Milan per DiMarzio

#Ibrahimovic said yes to AC Milan between tonight and tomorrow, the club plans to define and close every detail for his return to the Rossoneri

Surprised he's going there given they're not in europe, aren't making the top 4 and will just bob around in mid table for rest of the season. Dosen't seem much of a project he can get his teeth into unless they sack Pioli and make him player manager.

For half a season he'd actually be a good pick up for Inter Milan considering they're looking as Giroud as alternative to Lukaku.

He'll be the starter in a top league at a historically big club where hes a legend. Why not at this stage?

Inter would hardly pay him peanuts.

He can go there, fire them to historic Scudetto ahead of Juve and also win them the europa if he fancies it. Lukaku might also learn to control a ball with his back to goal so all good in the long run. ;)

Joining Inter or even someone like Atalanta would be more interesting move for me.

Should go to Juve! And him and Ronaldo feeding off each other. Ibra has never won a CL, and Ronaldo lives football like he's never won one either.

(I know it'd never happen but I wish he'd go for Inter instead of AC from a personal preference)

Glad to see him back in Europe, will be very interesting to see if he can still produce after that injury and a couple of years in the states.

He loves Milan, as does his wife so this was always on the cards. Win win really as Milan are so fecking awful now they have nothing to lose and Zlatan will at least drum up interest in the club again.
Yes players like this means a lot to a club. He will hopefully score some goals, he will teach the younger talents what it means to be professional, and as you write it will drum up interest. Hell, the first thing I did when I heard about the transfer was to sign up to see Serie A for €20 per month, a league I find rather boring but I want Zlatan.

You're spending 20 per month just for Zlatan?

I’ve seen most matches with him since 20 years back and have no intention to quit now. As a bonus La Liga is also included which I miss not having sometimes.

Great news for football, shouldn't have gone to America as soon as he did.

Milan games have been awful to watch recently but I'll probably watch most of them while he's there

What a interesting career. Played for Ajax, Juventus, Inter, Barcelona, Milan, PSG, Manchester United and now he's going back to Europe at almost 40. I'm somewhat surprised he never reached Ronaldo's and Messi's heights given his talent and work ethic.

It's also amazing how strong of opinions people have on the league despite never watching it and knowing feck all about the league.
I have watched MLS, both live and on TV and it is utter shit. I don't watch it regularly because you must have either infinite amount of free time and be bored out of your mind, or you must have never seen real football to enjoy MLS on a regular basis.

Everythiny about MLS is shit - most players, pace, low quality of coaches, broadcast, you name it.

So, what was your point?

He was my favourite player in the world whilst he was playing for Milan. Like I could watch him all day type player.

However after his moves & him scoring that goal against England I really couldn't stand the guy anymore. I felt he became a bit overrated & egotistical for a career that was great but dropped down for the same selfish reasons. The way he plays is centralised & isn't very team coordinated in my eyes.

I didn't particularly like him at United either because whilst he was useful I felt he was stop gap for Mourinho to get Lukaku in and stop Rashford & Martial's development.

However - now I find him back at Milan a little bit of love has come back for him.

Weird.

Weird signing for Milan. Don’t see it going well.

His legs are gone, was a lot of games at LA where he did absolutely nothing. Even in the games he scored in he offered nothing bar the goals. Big step up from MLS to Serie A again. His finishing ability will still be there but think it’s a tough ask for him to do well. Hope I’m wrong as I do like him.

Going to a team that loses a lot of their games might not be the most forgiving environment for him.
If he was coming off the bench for a side that was consistently winning it would make sense but that won't happen at Milan.

Unless he does actually win games for them. This is Zlatan we're talking about I suppose

Zlatans statue has just been slayed in Malmö, the fences could not protect it, its a big story here. I am very curious about whats going to happen next. Let the vandals win and remove the statue completely?

Zlatan ain't merely aiming for what mere mortals aim to achieve. While other players struggle to get themselves a statue in any of the clubs they play for, Zlatan builds himself a statue and then gets it destroyed, all by himself, in the same lifetime.

Different kind. Only gods could do this.

Zlatan is a legend. I wish he could have spent more of his top-form years with us. Would have been a new Cantona.

He gave us everything he had when with us and treated the club with utmost respect. He gets nothing but a respect back as a professional, a top player, and superb human being.

They should just build it in Stockholm, close to Friends Arena. People in Malmö are too sensitive.

Is that a sweden shirt over the head? Meaning what? He's not Swedish enough?

Yes, its a blue shirt with the text "Sverige", which is Sweden in swedish. I assume there is a racist motivation partially, or someone wants to create an impression thats its about Zlatan not being swedish enough and thus racially motivated. Considering the right wings upswing in sweden, it can not be ruled out completely. The main focus for the right is to blame all problems in sweden on the migration and also all crimes that takes place in sweden is the fault of foreigners etc.

The attacks on the statue and the building is investigated as "Hatecrimes".
