Since the 7th of May 2018 Liverpool have only lost one premier league game
As much as I hate to say it, they deserve their success and should win the league. TAA & VVD aside they are bang average but it just works. Klopp is head and shoulders above Guadiola.

Feck me I was sure this was incorrect and thought must be may 2019... but you’re right. Impressive stuff really.

Mane, Firmino and Salah are "bang average"? I'd hate to know what you think of our front three then because none of them would get into Liverpool's starting 11.

Just learned that Fernando Hierro, playing as CB for Madrid scored 21 goals - in a single season. Never knew that, that's a mindblowing record for a defender.

I’m pretty sure that he played in midfield that season, as an expansive box-to-box. Koeman impresses me more if talking about scoring from a CB role.

Alisson, Robertson, Salah, Mane, Firmino and Fabinho are disappointed with this post :(

Danny Ings is the second top scorer in league this season, more than the likes of Kane, Mane, Salah and Aguero. Crazy considering his tally from the past 4 or so seasons and how woeful Southampton have been.

Mane, Salah and Firmino are widely acknowledged as one of the best forward lines in world football but yeah they're 'bang average'
Whatever gets you through the day I suppose

Ronaldo and Messi earned more/almost as much money on Instagram than playing football?

Not surprised by Ronaldo, didn't know Messi had so much free time to waste

AZ Alkmaar are regularly mugging PL clubs off. Or they have some insane ability to get below average strikers to have an impressive scoring record for them.

Sold Jozy Altidore to Sunderland for 10 million. 1 goal in 42 games.
Sold Vincent Janssen to Spurs for 17 million. 2 goals in 31 games.
Sold Alireza Jahanbaksh to Brighton for 17 million. 2 goals in 22 games. (That too in last two games)

This is truly incredible. Not sure how accurate Transfermarket's stats are but according to them Altidore's stats are even worse:

Premier League – 2 goals in 70 appearances
Eredivisie – 39 goals in 67 appearances

My guess: a combination of moving from top club in a league to a weak club of very different league + high scores in games are very common for Eredivisie and scouts drooling over "stats" need to use more of their brains?

I thought that Kim Kardashian is the most famous, not her sisters?

My wife is watching it, not me. I swear:nervous:

Sir Alex Ferguson only won 2 European Cups
Should have had an extra 2... very unlucky to get knocked out vs Dortmund in the SF. Very unlucky to get knocked out vs Leverkusen, and probably the most guaranteed one we lost was when Porto knocked us out at the last minute in the SF, if that didn’t happen we’d have most probably gone on to beat Monaco.

Surely he means when Liverpool signed them they weren’t world class and have performed much greater then expected or possibly under Klopp they are greater as a unit then they would be as individuals

TAA was hardly WC when he was still in the Pool academy.

What’s unbelievable is that Mancity has spent half a billion on defense and it still has the likes of Otamendi and Walker in it

Bernardo Silva has scored more goals at Old Trafford in the last two games, than Jesse Lingard has in the last two seasons.

Yeah the Porto one we definitely would of gone on to win in my opinion, Scholes had a legitimate goal ruled out as well.

Porto knocked us out in the Round of 16, not in the semis ffs. :D A lot could have happened in the later rounds, but you definitely can't be sure that we would've won it. Porto went on to beat Lyon (who topped a group with Bayern), La Coruna (who beat defending champions Milan 4-0 in the quarters) and Monaco (who beat Real Madrid in the quarters and Chelsea in the semis, a team we were trailing in the league).

Losing to Dortmund and Leverkusen those years before sucked, but those finals against Juve and Real wouldn't have been easy too.

This must be like Nelson Mandela’s funeral in the 80s ... honestly don’t know why or since when I’ve thought it was the SF and you’re the first person to correct me

Despite stagnating in his career since 2012, Jack Rodwell is still offered a contract by a Premier League club. Oh, and he's just 28.
Mason Greenwood is Manchester United's 3rd highest goalscorer this season with 8 goals (3 in the EPL, tied with Daniel James).

The Dutch league is known here for giving a lot of space to strikers, much more than for instance in Belgium. Strikers often flatter to deceive over there. Of course there were hits too, Luis Suarez, Ibra, Van Persie... but it was always obvious they were a level above the rest.

Solskjaer relegated Cardiff and left them 17th in the championship by the time he left.

He still has a better %win in nine months with Cardiff than he does in the nine months he's had with Manchester United since taking charge permanently (30% v 27%).

You could always flip that one around and say that United had some good fortune in both their wins (Bayern hitting the woodwork twice and being the better team in 1999; Lampard hitting the bar and Terry slipping in 2008). Although in both campaigns United were worthy winners based on their overall performances over the course of the season.

Disagree with Bayern being the better team in 99. People forget that we had Kean and Scholes both out for the final so on the day it was natural that they played better. But during the group stages we were clearly better then them. A last minute keeper error cost us a win at their place.

Steve Bruce was joint top scorer for United in 1990/91 season. Well in the league anyway. He had 13 goals in 31 games.
