That Osasuna RB, never seen such a slow player pushing up for an offside. He's basically cost them two goals by playing La Real players onside.

2-4. Isak slots it in.

Massive save, but still a goal from the ensuing corner. Nice lob for the assist, fun game overall.

Edit: Osasuna gets a goal back. Avila has been sharp & dangerous today.

His goal record is very good, 10 last season for relegated Huesca and already 8 for Osasuna. One I'd like my club (Villa) to look at as you'd get him reasonably priced.

Can't be showing Atlético games anymore. Enough is enough. Can't expect people to pay to watch that team play. Hope Simeone is gone soon.

Nonsense. They are much improved this year and their performances much better than their results. Definitely still in the title race.

No idea why the referee allowed that Bartra goal to stand, obvious hand ball in the build up. Pretty farcical end to the game.

Referees are just ignoring the new law now?

Real game after Chelsea, excellent.

That run from Lobotka to set up Aspas
I admire your dedication mate watching Celta for 90 minutes every week, they're nearly as boring to watch as Atletico. ;)

La Real is where it's at this season in La Liga.

I haven't watched Celta for a couple of weeks now, to be honest. I do try to catch them for Lobotka, though!

I was just about to tag you actually! Bardhi is playing pretty well.

Good to hear. I did enjoy them a few years back when Sisto was having a good year on the wing. Might've been the season they got to europa semi finals and played Man. United.

Yes I like Bardhi. Lots of hidden games in bottom half of la Liga for prem clubs to blow 40m on in January.

Vinicius getting some starts again. There's a player there although he might need a loan to really develop.

The point of this sport is to put the ball into the net, not to hit the goalkeeper with it

Real Madrid crossing was very poor in the last 20 minutes.

One good one and Jovic very unlucky with header that came back off the post, Ramos couldn't get in the rebound.

More dropped points. Way it's going the title winner won't even make 80 points this year.

Madrid’s strategy of spamming crosses over and over is a weird one with Ronaldo gone.

I’ll take the dropped points, but hitting the woodwork 3 times oof, Bilbao are very fortunate.

Brilliant result for Barca. Madrid drop points at home yet again in a match they really should have won. Barca go into the new year with a 2 point lead.

That is a really difficult game out of the way for Athletic. Sevilla away after the break. :(Sigh!

This is all they seem to do in games now. Cross after cross for 90 mins. If they had Ronaldo for the last 2 games, they'd be looking at 6 points instead of 2.

Have been more impressed with Real this season over Barce. Although Barcas attack make them win most of the easier game even if they can be poor away from home. It is hopefully going to be a tight race all season.

Madrid have become a lot more solid defensively but their attack is really rather average. After Benzema, their next highest scorer in the League is Ramos with 3 if I'm not mistaken. They cross the ball and take a lot of shots but they really don't seem to be super fluid in attack. Barca have been absolutely awful away (improved since Messi returned) but their home form is brilliant. Madrid and Villareal games apart, they've not scored lesser than 4 goals in any league game.

Yeah people talking about crosses didn't watch this game did they? We could have scored like 6 in this one. Horrible finishing, bad luck and unai simon playing the game of his life

Says a lot when you finish a game with an xG of 3

True but Madrid’s lack of build up play hurts them. It’s crossing and praying. In the Barca match they did the same and had maybe 2 great chances despite having many more shots than Barca. Same with Bilbao today. On the counter, Bilbao’s chances looked just as good as anything from Madrid. Madrid just aren’t efficient enough in front of goal. It’s a season long issue.

I’m sure Hazard will help with the team play. And again, I agree you guys have been very unlucky today.

The problem isn't build-up, it's lack of finishers

Pablo Machín has been sacked from Espanyol after just 2 months in charge and 15 games in charge. Espanyol are looking for their 3rd manager this season. They're currently bottom of the table with 10 points, 5 from safety.

Espanyol are a total disaster this year, when did they last play in Segunda?

Always been one of those sides always in the top league since I started following Spanish football. Can remember Raul Tamudo scoring loads of goals for them in the early 00s and getting some Spanish caps.

Eww. I have fond memories of the guy, but I hope nothing but bad things come for him during his time with the budgies.

It's a good appointment. He's kept Gijon and Alaves up from desperate positions.

So I was looking into Getafe's stadium...why is it named after Alfonso who never played for them?

He's from that district of Madrid I think. Dosen't Fernando Torres have a stadium named after him aswell.

Have to say Getafe having another great season, point or two off top 4 again and doing well in europe. Surely Bordalas will get a bigger job next season.

Sure, he grew up in their youth system but is that enough to have a stadium named after you? It's beyond weird. My guess is some money and/or corruption is involved. Stadium was built in 1998 and he retired in 2005.

Kroos+Modric+Isco against this team is suicidal :nervous:

We need pace and energy here, that combination has not been good against crazy pressing teams for two years. Need Vini and Fede in there
