I don't think Fans HATE Jesse Lingard... that's a pretty strong word. He gets paid a lot of money but doesn't seem to contribute anything to the team. He has been so poor recently it's not a surprise to see him linked with a move away... he has looked bored and distracted all season. He did really well a couple of seasons ago and its a shame he never built on that. If he stays I want him to find a way past his issues and start producing, if he leaves, I really hope the club replace him with someone good.

True. And I would LOVE him playing for someone else

“He’s Man United through and through. He’s a red, he’s got a great attitude and a great work rate,” Solskjaer said. “You can criticise anyone about anything but for me as a manager, I have to look after these boys in the good and the bad times. It’s great to work with him. I had him in the reserves; gave him his debut against Burnley. It’s good to see him back to his old self.”

I actually find this depressing to read. If he at this stage hasn’t realized Lingard shouldn’t be a part of MUFC first team, Ole shouldn’t be manager. RVP is 100% right.
Its pretty obvious that he doesn't consider Lingard to be the number 10 he wants to go forward with. He is trying to motivate all of our players because it can literally only help us to have confident players. What else he is supposed to say?

On the subject of Lingard being sold he isn't completely unmarketable. We are only 18 months past a world cup where he was a starter and playing pretty well for a team that reached the semi-final. I don't see him going to another PL club but it certainly wouldn't surprise me to see an overseas team take a gamble on him.

Hahaha, you do realise that means for alot of the clubs staff to do actual work to find a good player? and then for Ed Woodward to prepare a bid? then consider it? then negotiating?

That could take months at the least.

I would say that 18 months is a bloody long time in the football world. I, for one, cannot remember him playing or how he did. I seriously doubt that other clubs look at his performances for us in the last couple of seasons and think "but he was allright in the World Cup", and therefore go for him.

But okay, he has been linked to Leicester and AC Milan so far (although not necessarily true), so maybe he does have some sort of name outside Manchester.

No hate for Jesse, he just don't cut it. For a 27 year old playing for an elite team, his performances should be so much better. Should be a leader driving the team forward considering the homegrown element and how he's grown up with the club. The 0 assists 0 goals for an ATM is a damn joke!

JLingz you gotta go!

I find it really hard to like Lingard. He just comes across as a right prick and if he played for another club we would be giving him all kind of banter/abuse.
For me, he sums up everything that has been our downfall this last few years - bang average, well over paid and ridiculously overrated. Even in his decent patch, I doubt he would have made a top 6 side in the league.
Fair play for him for his charity work but I feel that is the least many players can do.
Even without replacement, I’d be happy for him to go to another club.

If he would take a wage cut could see him being useful to a Bournemouth/ Norwich/ Watford type team especially as they have injuries currently though I'm sure he wont do that also what do we reckon he would cost could they afford him?

What will happen is off the back of us slumping to some rubbish boring defeat with 0 shots on target, we will get the "excellent news" that JLINGZ has signed a new 4 year deal, accompanied by a photo of him and Ole grinning together! They may even be dabbing or moon walking

Hate is such a big word... i dont hate him but i do hope he leaves the club. Whatever he does after leaving doesnt concern me at all. Hopefully i will just forget about him.

What i do hate is seeing his name in the line up. You know he isnt going to score and you also know that he is going to ruin multiple attacks... it is just not fun :(

Why do you state such things as if they are facts? I can't remember anyone who's played with him has had a problem with his attitude, in fact many players who have played with him has praised him for his attitude and mentality and for being a positive influence in general. The only person I know of having a problem with Pogba was Mourinho, which is hardly an indictment of a player's character.

And when has he not wanted to play for our managers?
You don't really believe all these "injuries" that come up every time transfer rumors start?
I am not saying Mourinho is a great guy to get along with, but you can see Pogba has attitude problems. There are games when he just walks the pitch, it's not news. For all the talent he has he'll never fulfill it if he carries on like that.

Nah, they absolutely do. Just look back a few months at the posts about his social media antics. Either they genuinely hate him as a person, or we've got some posters who have trouble expressing themselves without resorting to bile.

I hate how every time he steps onto a football field he has a stinker, not just any stinker but the stinkiest of stinkers.

I think he's already signed. The club are holding off for 'the right moment' to announce it. The interview he gave recently was orchestrated to feather the nest a bit. I'm not saying he doesn't he have issues but it was deliberate leaks I reckon.

Don't hate Lingard but hate the fact we have dropped our standards so low that an attacking player who doesn't score/assist for a whole year is still considered as a starting xi player. We should have higher expectations for players at our club and who don't perform should be dropped or sold. The minutes on Lingard are truly wasted.

I love watching the worst player in the league occupy our most important position.

If lingarrd starts against Norwich, i am not going over to the pub to watch it. Just fed up with him now. Cannot control the ball nor pass. Cannot do any fecking thing.

They have De bruyne and Silva and we have fecking Lingard.

Lingard is indicative of the rot since Ferguson left. A simply nothing player who would never have made it under ferguson. Yet every ten weeks at this club he makes a million.

Apparently ole thinks he is regaining some form. When interviewing our next manager, we should ask them what they would do with lingard, if the answer is anything other than get rid then dont hire him, whoever it is.

Play him few more times and we might start hating him the way opening post described. United number 10 can't even control football. Why are we even playing him? Why not try Gomes? Will he be as pathetic as Lingard is?

I hate Lingard, I hate him as a player and hate him as a person, I’m not gonna cover it up with long-winded excuses like others on here. Stolen a living as a footballer, absolute muppet in every sense of the word. Please do the decent thing and leave this club.

I’m not arsed about his personal life. I’m arsed about what he does on the pitch. The man is a joke! Absolutely ridiculous that he still plays for us! 100k+ a week! Think about that for a second... a week! I am 10 times the footballer he is! I got paid £100 a week! The guy is an utter joke!

He’s completely shot. He needs taking out the firing line until he can sort his head out. Maybe ole thinks the squad is too thin to do this but he’s a waste of a player in the XI.

Even if he is, at least he can develop seeing as he's only 19. His raw tools (technique, vision) are much better than Lingard's.

We all can see that this guy is stealing a wage here and yet our manager seems to keep persisting with him. A sackable offence for that alone, never mind the shit results.

I don’t understand the point of him. We’d be better off playing 10 men.
