Heading over to NY next week so would love to fit in either a Nets or Knicks game.

Anyone know if it's generally cheaper to get tickets early or wait closer to gametime on stubhub/seatgeek?
I think usually it's cheapest on game day, but I don't risk that when I go.

When it comes to Knicks games I usually find tickets cheaper when I get the tickets earlier. The longer you wait the more expensive it is. I usually use stub hub.

Like what I'm seeing from Houston lately. Far more balance to the team, way more distribution and a conscious effort to get Capela more shots. Now if they can just convince Russ to stop shooting so much.

Kuz is going to get traded.

Also, what's the big deal with resting/rotating in the NBA? For me, Kawhi is a genius. Clippers will be heavy favourites (in my book) to win it this year, and a big reason for that is how well rested George and Kawhi will be.

Obviously there's the chance they don't get the same chemistry as LeBron and AD due to playing significantly less minutes together, but they'll still be great and have a phenomenal defensive unit on the court. They're heavy favourites.

Why don't more players rest/rotate/load manage?

Probably after all stars game if the pelicans are still in for a playoff push.

If they're out, might sit out till next year so he can get that ROY.
When/if they can fix his gait. Not going to have a long career at the top regardless. Retired before 30.
Cheers. Heard some rumours he even can start against the Bulls and already had practice on the floor.

He has a heavy frame and will be a struggle to stay fit with that accelerated growth but would be interesting to see him in action this season.

The Pelicans have chance for the PO's, 8th place is up for grabs, but need to build a momentum. All winnable games this month apart from couple against Celtics and the Nuggets.

Pelicans will play Zion this season. They sold a lot of season tickets on the hype of Zion. They'd be making a lot of people angry if they just sat him all year if he is ready to go (which it sounds like is getting closer).

In the few vids I saw from him in training he was nowhere near ready to return. He needs to slim fast.

Giannis and Luka are my frontrunners for MVP at the moment
comfortably. wonder if Atlanta still think Trae and Reddish was worth it . also could you imagine how much better the Suns would be right now too? Mavs deserve all they're getting right now.

Madness

Giannis and Harden are the frontrunners for MVP. Or more specifically, Giannis is the frontrunner and Harden the only guy with a case for deserving it more

Luka is basically a worse version of Harden right now. He's a novelty and also 20 years old, but that shouldn't matter when it comes to MVP

Agreed. Harden is more deserving of MVP at this point than Doncic is, and even he is not particularly close to Giannis. Doncic might actually have a case for the most improved award, which will be extremely close and between many players this season (Brown, Siakam, Ingram come to mind too).

Luka is MIP hands down right now. There's really no question about it

Don't really know about second year players winning that award. You are supposed to improve significantly in your second year.

We're talking about a guy going from fringe all star to MVP candidate here. How is that not a significant improvement :D

I know, it's just all players are supposed to make a leap in second year. When players into their third or fourth year suddenly explode, like Siakam last year, it's more of what the award was supposed to be about in the first place.

Thunder have been great this season. It's not completely unexpected though, the team with current roster was always too good to tank and they have a better record now than they had at the same stage of last season.

Paul still have some mileage, Gallinari had a fantastic season last year but has actually not been that great this year, SGA is a big talent, Adams is a decent center and they have a ton of young athletic guys drafted recently. It may hinder them long term to stay good and not get a good pick but they have an absolute ton of future assets and I won't be surprised if they opt to trade them for a ready now player in the upcoming months (like Beal) instead of planning for a long rebuild.

LeBron has been rested plenty of times in his career. He missed the entire finish to last season to 'allow his groin to heal' (which would have 100% not happened had they still been in playoffs race) and did not care back then.

What? Which second year player is supposed to make a leap to MVP candidate?

The award is about who improved the most, not about which player went from nobody to all star. It's just rare to see players as established and as good as Doncic making that kind of leap in one year

Doesn't make any sense. Unless they can trade for a superstar, they're better off just riding this group into the playoffs and rebuild through the draft.

I'm not saying players are expected to improve from All-Star to MVP level in second year, nobody is expected to be near All-Star in their first year either. It's just that significant second year improvement is pretty common, and in Doncic's case he was already starting from a very high level too.

Doncic's improvement is anything but common though. And again, whether it was to be expected or not(NOT! VERY MUCH NOT!) he's still the most improved player in the league, so he should get the award. His only competition is Devonte' Graham, but again, MVP candidate

He also said "If I'm hurt, I don't play, but if I'm not, I do" which fits that narrative. There's no point aggrevating a groin injury if there's nothing left to play for. He isn't injured right now so doesn't need to be rested in his view.

Is Leonard's approach the sensible thing to do? Yeah, sure. I dislike him for it though, which is probably irrational.

My MVP ranking so far would be:
1. Giannis
2. Lebron (very close 2nd)
3. Doncic

Lebron is mighty impressive in this new role.

In other news, Jazz are starting to look great.

Has more assists and rebounds per game, better field goal percentage but yea a worse version of Harden ;)

Giannis for MVP, then Luka, LeBron and Harden.
