He's overrated for me I've seen a few games with him and he's very prone to mistakes doesn't positon his body well to defend in my opinion. If there's anyone we are looking at to Axe Lindlelof it should be Demiral. He looks one of the best young defenders in Europe.

We can sign Mohammed Salisu for 1/4th the price instead. But one player which looks really promising snd we should be targeting is Pau Torres, but will probably end up at Barca or City.

He has been poor this season making lots of mistakes and got dropped to the bench on a few occasions.

This isn't happening

He can't even get into the West Ham side due to poor form and it was the same yesterday against Sheffield United. If we did make a £45m offer in the summer window then West Ham might be regretting not selling him now.

So watching a player play football is not a rational reason to gauge if the player is good enough to play at a certain level?
No, making a deduction that a manager will always use the said player even if better alternatives are available, based on the fact that said player is used when no better alternatives are available, is irrational.

Even West Ham fans think he's rubbish you guys are nuts. I wouldn't pay £45 quid for him let alone £45 million.

Well Axel is injured and I do not view Bailly, Rojo or Jones as better alternatives so that is the reason why I made the post about Diop because I think he has the tools to succeed at a top club.

So how exactly does not having an alternative to Lindelof prove that “Ole will stick with Lindelof regardless of how shaky he looks”?

Because he has stated that his favoured partnership is Lindelof and Maguire and if he starts to chop and change then it will not be a good look for him as a manager so I think he will stick with him and hope he comes good.

I don't think things work that way. There s always a difference in what a manager may say in public and what he does privately.
If we re looking to offload Rojo and Jones or Bailly, we might need another cb considering how injury probe are our cbs

Diop is awful. Only mourinho wanted him as he loves a big strong runner

Made up nonsense, it makes no sense that the club would allow smalling to go out on loan and then buy this guy for 45 million when his attributes are no better than what smalling offered us.

Was linked under Mourinho so guessing it's just laziness.

Annoyingly they used to be very good.

Ten years ago, when Skysports broke a news story, you knew it was true.

Now you can genuinely ignore it because it’s always nothing
Actually Wan Basaka, Maguire and James was all reported by Sky sports first.

Before them though they was utter dross for breaking news.

What was the point in this conversation as I consider it a complete waste of time?

I've said for a while, Maguire will look closer to his price-tag if he IS the ball-playing slower paced CB rather than part of a duo with almost the same skill-set. He needs a physical, aggressive,e proactive CB alongside him. If things had turned out differently, Eric Bailly could have been a wicked partner for Maguire. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out that way. Someone like Demiral would do a job here.

I’ve been critical of Maguire up to now and think he needs to improve, but he’s miles ahead of Diop. At least we have a settled back line at the moment, Diop screams inconsistency, we’d have been cursing Ed etc if we’d have signed him when it was reported.
