I appreciate you replying, but in my opinion, you're an obvious WUM.

Your posts don't read as someone who actually cares about Man Utd, or is a genuine follower of the club.

I imagine that should the club employ a decent manager and turn a corner, you'll no longer be found posting here - I guess time will tell...
Thank you for your brilliant respons and that you could analyze what kind of supporter I am. But for your knowledge, over 30-35 years and have seen about 90% of our games since then. But really. trying to somehow put it forward that I don't care about the team is something I don't even have to comment.

Nonchalantly scoring the winner...
Here we go..

"I'm a better fan than you because .....(insert lameass excuse here)." How can you question someone's loyalty just because you don't agree with them?

You're embarrassing yourself.
It's not because @90 + 5min (or you) hold a different opinion than me - it's because the situation with Solskjaer and Glazers / Woodward is so far gone that anyone who looks at the situation and feels it worthy to argue the case for said regime on an internet forum is, realistically speaking, quite likely of being a WUM.

Oppo fans are desperate for OGS to stay... Utd fans aren't (even those who don't mind him staying).

Also, history has shown that pathetic WUM fans of smaller clubs like the dippers, Citeh etc can't resist pretending to be Utd fans during such times, as we saw with Moyes as well

But we'll agree to disagree, cheers!

They are just popping up these kind of posts. Without any meaning or reflection. We get it. You would love us to lose all the time so Solskjaer gets sacked. We get it. You would love to have it your way then actully supporting the team.

To even write this kind of post is just so nonchalant without even mentioning how long time they have been at the club. Impressive how low some of our supporters are going.
In all honesty that specific post is far from meaningless. There's a reason some managers do better than others and it usually tends to be experience and knowledge about the game.

Can Ole become a great manager? Maybe, I'm not in the camp where I only see the negative in all he does but is he comparable to proven managers? Far from it.

I can not understand the argument that apparently we are the only club in the world who would get better results with lesser experienced managers. That we have somehow proven that 'good' managers won't make it here, when the stats in football all around the world clearly prove the opposite applies.

"We tried proven managers and it didn't work" is the biggest pile of nonsense I've ever read. LvG and mourinho together averaged a trophy / season, a 2nd place in the PL + a FA cup final that we lost. I was thrilled when Mourinho got sacked because I couldn't stand the prick in the end but his experience and knowledge did produce 2 trophies, a runner-up spot in the PL and FA cup. You think Ole will achieve that by the end of next season? If you do kudos to you.

Oppo fans were desperate for Mourinho to stay too. Then guess what, soon as Arsenal and Spurs get rid of their manager, fans were all over him again and wanted him at their club. The situation with Solskjaer is not irretrievable...yet.

And you are putting fans down that have a different opinion to you, whatever you may say. You've even now just said they must be fake fans or wums. But that is your problem.

The only thing that should matter is how people think Ole is doing in this job. Not previous managers, not Cardiff or Molde. None of it is relevant. We should only be evaluating whether we think the job that is getting done is sufficient given the circumstances.

Many think he isn't doing enough, and many think he is. That's fine. Talking about all those other things is just rehashing old arguments that have been done to death.

I don't get this kind of thinking either. LVG and Mourinho didn't work out as we had hoped so we have to go for completely unproven managers. Solskjær has less points pr games than mourinho did in the season that he was sacked. So it's hardly accurate to say he's an improvement.

If by second, you mean not challenging for the league, and by win any trophies, you mean none of the major ones, then yes.
Its incredible how you'd dismiss everything just to defend our incompetent manager. Some of you lap up 5th at the same time as diminishing other much better seasons.

We’re in fifth.

Given the players we’ve had at our disposal in midfield this season, expecting a great deal more than that would be overly optimistic. We’re about par for the course given the quality of players in the squad.

I find him extremely irritating. He's looks and sounds like a clown. I cannot believe it has come down to this. I would have preferred to remember Ole the player rather than Ole the manager.
I suggest getting off social media, because they feed off of your emotions. Unless of course, you find it enjoyable to be irritated. Which isn't exactly uncommon... many folk find that it makes them feel alive, or gives them purpose in life

This I don't understand either, I'm actually still in the Ole in camp since I have zero faith in our CEO, I rather see us continue this current re-build, but I would like a DOF to oversee it. But to defend Ole for his achievements on the pitch as a manager is very odd. We're fecking terrible.

Hilarious he has said it as its rattled so many people
Our manager essentially said 'hey, at least we got dicked by City's A-team. I'd have made some subs but I was too starstruck!'

and you're shocked United fans weren't best pleased with that?

What if City set up their 'B-Team' in the return leg? What does that mean? Such a stupid comment from Ole. A club playing their biggest rivals set up their best team, Imagine that!?

If that latest quote from Ole is true about City respecting us because they played a strong team.....wow. Worst quote I’ve heard from a United manager that.

 hysterical. Where did he say anything about starstruck? In fact, what was so wrong about what he said. Pep himself mentioned something about having to respect our attack before the game. His comments were one of a sore loser at best, as he didn't want to admit we were poor.

Oh it's true. Check the previous page in this thread, a short clip is posted. We've gone places because City set up their best team in the league cup against us.

The difference between Moyes saying those sorts of things and Ole saying it, is that Moyes had a number of the premiership's top players in or around their prime at his disposal. Ole is essentially rebuilding the team with kids with a stupidly low average age, ridding us of the overpaid players leaving their prime, it's a completely different situation.

When he is saying something like that, it's from the viewpoint of someone that has this context behind it, whereas nobody that criticises him seems to be able to use context in any shape or form. He is not saying it meaning Utd the club, he is talking about the current Utd team he's trying to create. It's definitely not a great thing to say given what the majority of people will take from it, but some of the reactions are just stupid.

The problem we have is that even the positives are spun to be negatives under Ole. A lot of our players are playing quite a bit better than they did previously.

  • Rashford has gone up a level. He is now in the group of top strikers in this league. Europe even.
  • McTominay has vastly improved
  • Fred has gone from a collossal waste of money to a player that we can rely on
  • Martial is scoring and assisting and has a smile on his face
  • Greenwood and Williams are emerging and have been handled excellently
All of these things are real positives for this club, whatever happens. These positives have all happened under our current coaching staff, and there is no guarantee that any of this would have happened under different managers, but instead of giving any credit for this there are comments made that suggest they would be even better under a better coach. That we are actually hurting these players.

There is no doubt that I have been excessive in my defence of this mgmt sometimes, often because I'm so offended by the unfair and extreme criticism that they receive. I almost feel compelled to be a counter argument just to maintain some balance on here.

Any poster that was sensible enough to claim "there have been quite a few positives in the last 12 months, but I'm concerned that Ole hasn't shown enough tactical acumen to take us all the way" wouldn't be offensive. I could understand someone having that point of view.

This place has just been vicious though. Over the top. Every thread hijacked by it, and posters that have the nerve to still back this group and are willing to be patient are openly insulted. "Deluded" "a cult" "obvious WUMs" "brainwashed by Woodward" etc etc etc etc. Its created a massive divide that didn't need to be there.

The majority of the backers are here after every result. Keeping the faith, looking for positives. We always show up no matter what. It's not the same with everybody though. The post match threads after a good win are empty. People cant even bring themselves to congratulate the team or praise a player for playing well. They cant allow themselves to just enjoy it.

Beat Norwich - they are shit. Beat City away and Spurs - we can only play one way, a failure of the coaching staff. Beat Chelsea 4-0 - what about those chances they missed though. It was a lucky win. We were 5 minutes away from beating Liverpool. Zero credit for that. Never mentioned.

Lose to City however, and it's complete outrage. If as expected we lose to Liverpool, it will be the same. There is no perspective or balance to any of this. If we refuse praise because we are expected to beat Norwich, then the criticism should be equally muted because we are expected to lose to Liverpool or City right now. It wont be though. It's ironic that the people who call others deluded are themselves deluded enough to think that this squad is on that level right now.

The point of this post is to call for balance on here. If you are big enough to criticise then be big enough to call out a positive when you see it too. You can be Ole out and still be able to do that, and you can be Ole in and still criticise a performance.

So you don't think he deserved to be called out for saying that?

It's called paraphrasing. He was saying he took pride in the fact City needed their best players to beat us. If Moyes had said that, or Jose for that matter, there'd be a lot more outcry. He certainly wouldn't have people defending him.

True - sure is. I heard it last nigh on MoD.

Speaking to Match of the Day, Solskjaer said: "When you play Man City in the Carabao Cup and they put their strongest team out, you know you've gone places because that means they respect us."

What a complete plank of a puppet. He is a puppet to Woody end of. He even tried to put some white wash on the fans chanting Woody out yesterday. He's is like an interior minister of Iranistan (as Uncle Donald would call it)

He's better off sticking to the inane "boys this the boys that" type of comment. OGS is just part of the Regime PR bullcarp who have now hired another PR man - an ex-tabloid one at that. This is Woody at play attempting to pump some smoke screen into the fan base. What a complete cock wanker.

Beggars belief.

Not the best comments I agree, but they are being blown way out of proportion... it's not like he said we needed to aspire to be like them. He simply said, Ha! they needed their best team to beat us... in the Carabao Cup! And all of a sudden everyone is talking about their team selection and his comments, and not about how poor we were. Took some pressure off the players after a bad derby defeat. I get that some people expect him to be tougher, harsher, and would prefer a more snide comment perhaps, maybe I do too sometimes, but the fact is his personality just isn't like that.

Basically took the words from my mouth. I'm not even up to 70% Ole in, but I always feel compelled to defend him against the obviously absurd and hyperbolic criticism, and once I do that, I am instantly put in that "Ole-in box".

It's all ridiculous and divisive for no reason.

No, you're deluded. Under Poch or any other competent manager, Rashford would have already scored 40 goals, McTominay would be starting for Spain, Fred would have won the world cup, Martial would be chased by Barca for 300M, and along with Greenwood and Williams, Gomes, Garner and other 5 youngsters would be starting regularly and in every post-match interview rips his shirt revealing the manly chest hair, scowl for a bit and announce he hates Ed and Glazers and wants to chase them out of the club with a baseball bat. And of course we would have 66 points from the 22 games. If you can't see this, then you are either deluded and stupid or you are being paid of by Ole ...

Anyway on a serious note, I've lost any desire to argue points with the posters in the football forum as its crossed the threshold of being irritating to being actually funny seeing people lose their shit for the smallest things and not seeing anything beyond their 2 degrees of point of view.

Some of us are just being realistic and recognising the hand that Ole has been dealt and the constraints he is working under. Others are entitled to their opinions which I respect and I would never derogatory comments about them even if they are big babies who can’t handle not being top dog during this challenging period of rebuild

Brilliant written. And you are writing exactly how many of us feel. Many of us who have been told we are delude, cluless, WUM, idiots and so on. Only because we stand by our club, by our manager, by our team. Only because we want the best for our club and because we are showing patience and understanding where we are, where we have been and what we are trying to achive.

But I don't think this will work on those who really have hate before there eyes. Solskjaer has burned bridges by those and there is no way back. That is why we have discussions about managers regardless of wins, loses or draws. That is why he will never get credit when he does things right. Because people that want Solskjaer out would find something else negative to write.

Sometimes I feel ashamed looking what people write in matchday threads and I'm amazed by lack of respect. Specially for our own players and managers.

Obertans #1 fan.
There’s been SO much to be happy with this season if you’ve wanted to.

Rashford has become one of the best talents in the world. We’ve not got two genuinely phenomenal young teenagers holding a place in the squad each week. Players such as McTominay and Fred have become cult heroes putting in great performances.

We’re managed by a top man who has made some great signings. We are higher in the league, with a lower age team and progressing further in the cups compared to when he was hired.

I understand people might think we can do better. But why do people use phrases like “clown” or talk about hating him. You just know they’re the same fans using names like “Rashford” or spending years laughing at Smalling and now pining for him back.

Supporting United can be so good. Get rid of your hostility and look for the positives. There are plenty.

We're fifth with a team right at the start of a rebuild, were still in all the cups, just, but there. With our best, most creative by far, player out for the majority of the season, so playing through the lines has been much more difficult, making games against the low block much more frustrating.

We're buying players that have hit the ground running, not enough of them yet, but a start. And it seems we're doing our homework, looking at personality and how they will mesh with the squad on multiple levels.

We're bringing through academy players who are being brought through right, not too quick, not too slow. And they are performing.

The deadwood is being sold and released, with those with the worst personalities out first

We have one of the youngest teams, including the manager, in the league and they are learning and learning fast.

To be honest, I couldn't give a flying feck what he says to the media. He might have said it because he actually believed it, he might have said it because he wanted the players to think something, he might have said it because he wants the board to think something. He definitely didn't say it because he cares what the fans think, thats not his job and not his priority.

I think we're on the right track and I think that's down to Ole. We aren't there yet, not even halfway, but we do have a direction and I like where I think we're going.

Yes, not only a work in progress but a very young team. A few recruits still needed but really think the team management are making headway. Inevitable some teething troubles with development issues, particularly with young players and frustrating at times. Matic recently pointed out that one of the main things young players need to learn is constant concentration. That's what they need to learn to be consistent. Some players past their best or not the right fit have been and will be shown the door. Just hope Ole really gets the backing from the hierarchy. Can't say I'm quite as comfortable with their motives but for the first time since Fergie left, feel we are moving in a positive direction. Takes time for the work behind the scenes to manifest itself on the pitch consistently. Green shoots.

Don’t be a culturist with your humble crap. Was Cantona humble? Best; Ronaldo; RVP; RVN. There’s many players who haven’t genuine; humble and honest and been successful.
Please don’t fall for propaganda to identity players you don’t like. Jesse Lingard is hardworking and honest.
OK.
Thank you. I’m enlightened
More prima donnas then please.
Similarly to propaganda it turns out I must be easily influenced by you....oh no wait

Brilliant wum, as always @Wumminator

• Jan 2019 - 22 games played - 41 points
• Jan 2020 - 22 games played - 34 points

Jan 2019: We were no longer in league cup
Jan 2020: We have one leg out of the league cup, we're out basically

Jan 2019: We were in the Champions League knockouts
Jan 2020: We are in the Europa League knockouts

Jan 2019: We were already through to the FA Cup fourth round
Jan 2020: We are still in the third round

And considering your attitude from day one of Mourinho, I'm not sure you should be lecturing anyone that "Supporting United can be so good. Get rid of your hostility and look for the positives. There are plenty."

There was plenty to be positive about during Mourinho's first year too, still my most enjoyable since SAF left.

That said, you're right, there is plenty to be pleased about, but that shouldn't only be the case IF you like the manager which is it for you buddy.

Sure he was left with a squad that would not have won the league. But still it was a squad that was 2nd in the PL the previous season. Now he has culled it and we are struggling to make the CL spot. It is very easy to say that Woodward is to blame but Woodward is not to blame for the football we play and for culling the squad. Woodward may not pay for all the players Ole wants but either we have the worst midfield or we don't. If we don't then he could have got any decent midfield player and we will be better? Woodward is not going to mind paying a lot less than some of the players like Dybala etc. Now why didn't we buy Tielemans and the Turkish CB that Leicester bought? Their total cost was 64 million. Buying Maguire for 84 million has not changed our position at all so far. Smalling would have been the same. We should have used the sale of Lukaku to get two quality players.
You need top players to win trophies. Top players are not going to come unless you have an opportunity of wining trophies. That is why we need players who are better than what we have but not the absolutely top world class players who are not going to come anyhow. Donny Van den Beek is not going to come now. We lost DeLight too. What is this fetish with British players who are overpriced anyway?

Another one of these comparing to previous years posts. It’s pointless. Look at the here and now. We are 5th right now. Last year we where 6th or 7th. Our goal difference is probably far better this year two. We are still in the league and FA Cup and pointless comparison champs league /europa league progress. By the way ole was in charge progressing us from the third round last year vs reading. Ole has us heading in the right direction the whole squad, style of play, optimism is far far greater this year than previous in my view. Just this forum sadly is full of negativity. Nice to read some positive comments in this thread for once

No, I'm mocking Wummy making out we're having a better year than last year both in the league and the cups, which is blatant nonsense at this point. I'm also mocking my man Wummy because he wasn't positive one little bit in Jan 2017 when we were heading into the league cup final, we're in the FA Cup, had 11 wins in the league and were still in the EL (actually on our way to the final).

Being positive when things don't look brilliant should go both ways, it shouldn't be something you lecture others to do because you like the current manager whilst you'd be spreading negative hate if another guy you don't like was the boss.

Some of us are just being realistic and recognising the hand that Ole has been dealt and the constraints he is working under. Others are entitled to their opinions which I respect and I would never derogatory comments about them even if they are big babies who can’t handle not being top dog during this challenging period of rebuild
What constraints?

I don't care about being top dog - I just care about not being rubbish.
