sending Rojo the other way so Bruno can get the number 16 on his back

Hope we get this done, and preferably before the Liverpool game but this really drags on, so annoying with all our transfers being this way

I have heard of it but never watched it. My prediction was purely based on reading stats.
Ironically, some "stats" are what makes him look good. Goals, assist and key passes.
Yeah, you know, the most important ones;) You might be right, of course, but I really don’t see him doing any worse than Lingard, Pereira or Mata. Quite the opposite.

Threads like this these need some sort of summary button to cut through the gibberish.

I have read Lingard and Rojo being mention, are they really being offered in exchange deal?
Lingard won't go to Portugal. He might fancy Serie A, Raiola's meant be be speaking to Italian clubs about him. Rojo seemingly has a much better financial offer from Fenebache.

Anyone asked why we’ve got no competition for him? No City, Liverpool, Madrid, Barca, Atletico, Juve, PSG or Bayern.

Just Sporting trying to drum up a deal with us and nobody else enquiring despite his apparent productivity.

Said this in the summer, it’s certainly something to be a bit wary about that we’ve seemingly got zero competition for him.

Do any of those teams need him? They have quality options. I didn’t see a queue of top clubs after the likes of VVD, Salah, Aguero, KdB and Mane either but they are decent players.

I thought Spurs were close to signing him?

The truth is though that it’s a bit of a punt! If he hits the ground running and can get anywhere near the numbers he’s getting in Portugal however; then we’ve got a diamond

Castles claimed on his podcast today that United have been told that this is their chance to get him.

He said they've been told other clubs will be in for him in the Summer and that Real had a long look at him in the last window but couldn't move on some of their older midfielders.

Don't know how true any of that is as if the first I've heard that anyone else was interested.

I heard city were in for Sanchez as well... How did that turn out? You can't judge a transfer about who is in for them. That's the stupidest thing ever. Chelsea wanted Lukaku but he was shit here. What about Fred? Apparently City warned him too, and Maguire.

Judging a player as "good" only if a rival wants them is stupid as feck.

Can right. The guy you're responding to is mental.

For what it's worth I have it on good authority from a friend that's entering the world of player management (former professional player in Greece, France and Australia) and was at Sportings last game, that our scouts along with Spurs scouts were running their eyes over him.

I trust his judgement when he says "he's a special player.. really stands out here.. good technically, smart, composed and has a real engine.. ran everywhere."

Obviously the Portuguese league is of a different standard but we are in desperate need of a creative spark so I'm hoping talks continue to advance.

If that's the standard we evaluate most players against, then no wonder we had to sort through 1000 different players for a new right back.

We both know that he will never be able to get the same numbers for our club. Attacking players with a high output (goals/assists) is seldom able to replicate the same output for a new club in a different role and system. Pepe, Mkhitaryan, Kagawa etc. Bruno, playing in a free role and allowed to shot and pass whenever and however he likes, could very well be an example of this.

At least we will not see Fred taking corners anymore. If we are able to set Fernandes up in situations where he is given time or space in the final third then he should be able to make an impact.

He does have some temper

This is what we lack currently. Nothing infuriates me more than seeing us a goal down/in a bad moment and not one player visibly giving a feck. You need fire.

His source is probably the portuguese journo Goncalo something who reported it yesterday. At this point they are all rehashing the same tidbits of news
Nah. Lopes didn't have as much info plus is a know bullshiiter. Also stone wouldn't parrot random stuff on BBC radio so therefore we know Castles is bang in in this one.
