Hazard, Ronaldo, Suarez.

We don't know, and I will hope he comes good if/when we sign him. He is top class set-piece taker, which is something we need. Will be an upgrade compared to the likes of Mata and Lingard.

A similar notion I had regarding Maguire and AWB during the summer, albeit I'm much more optimistic regarding Bruno and his ability to suit a more progressive style of play. I think that the best way for us to become competitive long term(excluding new owners and Woody) is to play in a similar way to City. And the way Bruno plays for Sporting does not really align with this patient approach to breaking down set defences. During the summer, at least, there were better suited players for my prefered type of football available for a lower price. Which again would make it possible for us to buy additional players that were sorely needed.

For the rumoured price of £60m we could get Zyiech and Pellegrini.
Maybe this is forgotten but Ziyech said he would only to a club that improves him. United without CL doesn't improve him.

Seriously, what is taking so long with this transfer. Just get it done Woodward. It’s as if he’s holding out for Spurs or someone else to take him from under our noses. Typical united under this lot.

Some things never change, the paranoia and impatience regarding potential transfers is one of them.

He usually picks up the ball from deep and brings it up the field then using his creativity to make the best chance. If buy hold up play you mean can he hold on to the ball a little longer until the appropriate run is made for him to release the ball then yes, if you mean hold up play as in what a striker or center forward usually do then no.

Also ya I think if you just scroll through the beginning pages of most Bruno threads you will see me somewhere on there haha

I hope this somewhat helped though!

If you ignore the goals just his ability to shoot from range makes chances and goal scoring opportunities for his teammates. This season and last Sporting scored many goals off of rebound from his shots from distance as keepers can’t hold on to the ball so they either Perry it in front of them or it goes out for a corner in which case you have another goal scoring opportunity. This comes in handy especially against those teams you can’t break down and park a bus.

SHOOTING: he has unbelievable shooting with both his left and right foot he uses both power and precision (mostly power) and hits them from distance often and with good amounts of success

PASSING/VISION: He is the creator for Sporting and everything runs through him. His long passing and through balls are of high quality and his ability to make a pass before receiving the ball is very good as well. His teammates at times struggle to keep up with what he tries to do which says a lot about how shit Sporting are.

DRIBBLING: He can beat a man if he needs to or in tight spaces but this is NOT one of the traits you should be focused on when getting a player like Bruno. It is not something you really highlight about him as player.

STAMINA/LEADERSHIP: You get a natural born leader with Bruno and he very often the first to track back and go up and down the pitch. If he loses it you can bet your bottom dollar he will take it right back. If a teammate loses it he is the first to pull back. He has very high on field IQ which may explain why he says he hopes to be a coach one day.

ABILITY TO GET OUT OF TIGHT SPACES: Has no problem doing this and if the Portuguese league is a turn off for you he has done it in the CL vs Barcelona.

SETPIECES: Dam near automatic. World class penalty taker and his free kicks are brilliant as well scores a lot of them.

His vision passing and overall ability in the final third is of the best quality I have personally ever seen in Sporting.

Next up is his set piece ability he has turned into a great free kick taker this season and also is good at corners.

In terms of what you would be getting in midfield you get a guy with an engine who runs up and down the field for 90 minutes and fights for every ball and pushes his team forward. On the offensive side his stats say it all he is a goal threat whether it be by scoring or assisting he has a great passing range and quality to open up defenses with his passing and through balls. He is a goal scoring midfielder but also a created which makes him very dangerous.

These are old posts I did .

There were much better ones but I cant seem to find them:lol:
Wow. Seems exactly what we lack. If he can do that for us, we'd be fantastic. Especially if Pogba decides to play football too.

Aren't England world champions are two age groups and the senior team just got to the semi finals in Russia too. There's loads of English talent around now.
I agree, loads better than these two. I don't see why people date them as class players. Mid table in my opinion

totally agree with you there.United giving spinning the press like they do with bullshit thinking it will satisfy the fans. They’ll later come out with some shite about player didn’t have the DNA required, wanted a release clause blah blah. Ed Woodward and his cronies never learn.

Anyone else starting to get a bit worried with this? Usually when it goes this quiet it ends up coming to nothing which would be a real shame.

If the reports are true, it does take time to sort out the details so both parties come out satisfied, especially in a deal like this one where a lot of money is involved.

We all want it done and dusted and I bet the board want it done too.

It just shows we have zero faith in Ed Woodward ability to close a deal when the player should already be training with us to help us. And we need a second CM too.

I get your point but for me it’s no wonder we are lagging so far behind with recruitment the way in which we do our business is appalling. This sort of deal should have been negotiated weeks if not months ago, for me we no longer act like one of the biggest clubs. And as for the board wanting it done, I’m not so sure about that...

My lord we have some moaners.

It appears Sporting have recently contacted United after attempting to hard ball the club in the Summer.

Why are our fans always such sissys when it comes to the final moments of a getting a decent deal closed? I swear our fans would be the worst negotiators in the World.

"Never been tested in a big league." Half of you would have used this reasoning for a 25 year old Luis Suarez from Ajax.
I think it's more about whether they can make the step up. With that said, I like his attitude, and his time in Italy was hardly a disaster, he still banged in a couple of goals. I'd like to think that three years of carrying Sporting will have matured him and developed his game and technique even more.

You believe he will sign all of sudden when he can now talk to anyone in Europe?
Just because he can talk to anyone in Europe doesn't mean they'll offer him more money or guaranteed playing time, he's been at the club since be was 8, he's a Manchester lad and Ole is keen to give young players a chance so there's still a decent chance he'll stay.

Not gonna disagree with the bolded part, we have an infamously poor recruitment system and it definitely needs improvement. We are also very, very slow in the negotiation phase, but it has to be because the people in charge are incompetent, not because they don't want it done.

I can't imagine anyone genuinely liking meetings.

Fair enough. I agree with your point about how to play, or I did, at least. Liverpool are doing it differently and are more than a match for City. At this point though, I’d just like to see us upgrade our worst positions. Mata, despite how much I like him, Pereira, and especially Lingard are more hindrance than help at this point imo.

I'm sure we are always negotiating with clubs on a number of players but this one got leaked because of Sporting being desperate to sell so I wouldn't be wound up if this deal fell through

How is it quiet? Plenty of positive talk today of deal being worked on
I haven’t seen anything concrete being said and anything else is not really believable seems made up.
It just seems to be going a bit quiet.

The next thing that will be concrete news is probably fee agreed and medical. Then it is basically done. I am sure we are close to that, give it a day or two

I doubt he'll score 10+ goals in the Prem but nevertheless, he'd be a GREAT signing!

The problem is we are so slow with these deals, all very well but we have important games soon which will have Pereira or Lingard yet again

Transfer window vultures know how to get football consumers riled up, have them waving their arms for no reason like puppets on a string.
