You mean the same way they did against Chelsea? Almost as if they are unable to sustain the brand of football Arteta wants them to play?

I agreed they outplayed us. But apparently we got battered by Palace, Newcastle, West Ham, Watford and god knows who else was in that list. When that's blatantly incorrect.

I think West Ham, City, Liverpool and 45mins against Arsenal are the only times we've been 'battered' this season. And one of those games we came away with a point.
I forgot Sheffield United who totally outplayed us for 70 minutes, after Ole's 3 at back experiment failed spectacularly. We were lucky to come away with the point there, and AZ Alkmaar in the Hague where we registered zero shots on goal. Face it mate, there's been some atrocious performances in the last 3-4 months any way you dress it up.

When was it stated he has no input? The point is people talk like they know exactly how the club operates when they have absolutely zero insight.
I don't need to know the boring minutiae of the operations, I see the results on the field...

Im mexican and Chucky Lozano plays in napoli so I watch some Napoli games, not all of them of course but a fair amount to have that opinion :D
They are having a poor season overall with off field issues, I wouldn't judge him solely on this season. Similarly VVD last half season at Southampton he was quite poor too.

Like fecking clockwork... "the club is working on many exciting deals"... the sheeple will be assuaged until the transfer window shuts down with no business being done.

"We tried but we were quoted crazy prices, there's no value in the market", "summer is just a few months away", "we remain committed to strengthening our squad... "

Rinse... repeat...

Did you even read it? It sounds like complete 100% Italian created crap, nothing to do with us at all. But any excuse to slag off the club eh.

Imo Napoli is behind all this. They realised they made a huge mistake by not selling last summer and are trying to attract possible suitors.
As Sport Witness said, these reports have to be taken with a pinch of salt.

Ever notice how it's always Man United (not Liverpool or City or Barcelona or Madrid ) when Italian media choose to manufacture bullshit? Why is that? Used to be Real Madrid, but they did a couple of "Communicado Officials" rubbishing reports linking them with certain players, can't imagine our club doing it, Ed loves this shit.

Ah okay, so could be anything then. Still, I wouldn't be too arsed if Chong did go.
All these comparisons as Pogba esque, lets be honest he is no where near as talented as him.

He will do well to play to Juve first team.

Worrying thing is, Arsenal will sustain it when their fitness improves - and it will.

Yes but its not exactly a great idea to pay a top fee for a defender whos almost 29 and its showing clear sings of decline. He´s not getting any better, this are his prime years, it's the best you get I wouldnt touch him with a stick for that fee.

Again, I'll repeat, you are jumping to conclusions saying he is declining when the whole team is underperforming, there is clearly something going on at the club.
That is not even me saying we should sign him, just pointing out that CLEAR SIGNS OF DECLINE is not something that is fact

As for his age 28 is not old for a CB

Let him go, I dont think Chong will make it at top level. The best thing would be to sell him right now for a low fee but including a buyback clause for the next 3 years, Madrid does this quite often and instead of risking keeping a player by overpaying him or offering almost no minutes to develop they sell the player to another club and if the player is good enought they buy him back.

Of course it'll be hard to convice Inter to accept a deal like this when Chong only haves 6 months left in his contract, but still we should anticipate this kind of scenarios.

Of course the Napoli's failure this season is not only on him, but you cant deny he hasnt been the same as last year. We should had learned by now that its a mistake to pay top fees for players that are showing signs of decline, we experienced it with Schweinsteiger and Alexis.

He will be 29 in june, so he has 3-4 years left at top level and then after he's 31-32 you'll have to sell him for peanuts. So basically he has no return value, for that kind of fee I think we should either get a totally proven player in his prime or a younger player that still has 8-10 years of football.

I think for less than that fee we could get way better players like Gimenez from Atletico or Upamecano from Leipzig who are in a better moment and are way younger so they will only get better.

Also take into account that serie A level is not the same as the premier league, look at Smalling looking worldclass while here he was severely criticized.

“He hasnt been the same as last year” neither have most Napoli players. So its likely something to do with the team than an individual is the point
