End product isn't there yet but I like that he's really trying to up his attacking game and is showing confidence in taking a man on.

Got taken on a few times today, but all in all, he was good defensively. Felt he was pretty good going forward tonight, too. Forced the issue at times, following some decent runs which lead to a cross or corner.
To be fair, I genuinely don't think any defender in history can come up against Adama and win all the duels. The guy is ridiculous one on one.
He did better going forward, he's deceptively quick. Takes him about 4 strides to cover 50 yards

Thing is, it wasnt Adama who took him on, it was someone else. Ive got so used to him tackling everyone and everthing in front of him that its a bit of a shock when he does get taken on, but I unsderstand he will get dribbled past every once in a while.

All over the place today. Serious questions whether having someone as limited as this guy as our starting right back is going to take us back to where we want to be

Very poor. RB will be a problem for us in the future unless he improves technically or we sign a very attacking LB. It's just not feasible to play with a fullback that's not technically strong these days.

I was thinking actually he reminds me of when Smalling used to play RB for us. Defensively strong but technically poor.

He should be playing for a team battling relegation, not for a team that has title aspirations. Yes, he's solid defensively but he offers absolutely nothing going forward. It's like having Valencia Mk II excep he's worse going forward. Such a limited player and yet we paid £50m for him.

Dan James kept cutting in and that left Bissaka exposed. He was basically being pulled in all directions by two liverpool players. I can only assume that Ole told James not to track back.

I've heard it said many times this season how weak his attacking game is and how average/poor he is on the ball. But wow. There's a huge disparity between his defensive game and attacking play. It almost feels like he's a bit out of date. You expect full backs to be pumping in crosses with great accuracy these days and offering a lot more. My worry is that this will go down as an average/bad signing when analysed in years to come.

How the hell he usually end up on the inside while we attack? I mean considering his non existing attacking capability.

And, is it an act or what that he almost always seems to fall down once he gets close to the final 3rd with the ball. I get the vibe of Smalling's posture every time he tries to pass the ball.

People said we got such a good deal at 50m though.

How bad was that ? Worst player on the pitch by a distance. Didn't look a PL standard player. No sign of his great athleticism today. Got nowhere near Robertson.

Terrible going forward, he probably was the worst winger in the Palace youth team and the only way they would play him was RB.

Love AWB, but he weirdly looked like he couldn't give a feck today. No closing down, passive, wasn't even rushing at the end to take throws at 1-0 down. Probably tired, he seriously needs a rest.

For some reason, when he turns and tries to pass the ball after the dribble, he looks like his spine is gonna break. I really can't believe that he used to play as a winger.

I would convert AWB to CD. AWB has no buisiness going forward. Horrible game, unfortunately he didnt defend today as well.

Not surprised others are starting to see it. Miles off the standard.

He’s better defensively but as much of a liability going forward. He's not worth 50m

Yes!

He looked jaded and tired. Rest won't do him any harm.
Your post suggested that he should be out of the team because of a bad game, rather than tiredness. However, if you explained that initially, I wouldn't have quoted you.

I do agree, though. He did look tired. Cant be easy keeping Mane, Robertson and Wijnaldum quiet, though. They were constantly creating overloads down that side.

If you read my post I actually said: "he needs a few games out of the team".

There were some warning signs earlier in the season that I feel people were ignoring. He's an absolute beast one on one and one of the best tacklers i've seen for a full back but his positioning isn't great, his crossing is erratic and worst of all, he's quite awkward in possession. He's still young and can improve but I worry that a new manager will look at him and think we need a higher technical and attacking qualities from our right back.

Again, he's young, he's got time to improve and i'm sure he will. I'd be lying if I said i'm 100% convinced by what he can offer though.

His positioning at times is a bit wayward. While he is praised for it, a lot his tackling is due to him not tracking the runner well enough.

That's something similar I said when we signed him. I got laughed at. Defenders lunging into the ground is never a good sign.

What the feck was that shot at the end? If you're incapable of striking a ball don't attempt a half volley from outside the box in the last minute at Anfield when all the team was up ffs. Cost us that 2nd goal imo.

I think he can get away with it when the opposition left back isn't so attacking. He's good one vs one, but I think we saw a real issue today with the movement of Mane and the running of Robertson.

Anyone would struggle up against those two.

Looked hungover. Not like his usual self at all. At times he was really struggling to get back in and just letting people run off him. I thought maybe he was just tired but then last 10 minutes he sort of rallied and seemed to be getting forward quite a bit.

I think it’s the wing back role against a top side. He’s doesn’t understand the role. He played a low block always at Palace and this system is pretty new to him and not especially complimentary to his skill set.
