We have a scouting network?!

I know.

I actually sometimes suspect that we don't. It's easy to get the impression that we need a player, Ole (or whomever else before him) tells Ed "I need a X" and we just default to the most well-known option.

Giggs recommended James. AWB and Maguire did not need scouting, they were PL regulars that we see week in, week out, and who's strengths and weaknesses were well known.

Moussa Dembele's agent supposedly leaked are preparing a 50 mill. euro bid on him. We're probably getting used here but I guess but still

Fjørtoft implying Liverpool will get Werner in the summer.

How did Woodward mess up with Haaland?
Because we decided to buy a defender for 80 million that is barely any better than smalling and 40 million on a defensive fullback rather than putting that money towards the midfield and attack where we had lost fellaini, Herrera, lukaku and Sanchez. So when haaland looked at the players that would create chances for him at United and then looked at the players Dortmund had to create chances for him it was a no brainer.

We need alot of players, but lets face it nothing will happen.

The Bruno deal seems to have gone cold after a week of negotiation.

Ed cannot do more than 1 bid preparation at a time.

I highly doubt we will sign anyone, after the City and Pool games, I thought the board would have realised something needs to happen.

Unfortunately, the board are completely disinterested in what happens on the pitch.

In Napoli there are few options. Their season is dead, and some players are in conflict with the board.

It's pretty laughable if that's the case, the guy will be up there with mbappe in a year or two, where as martial is still inconsistent as seen yesterday and dont believe he has the mentality to be a starter for a club expected to be fighting for trophies every season.

Think the club should go all out for Aubameyang, proven top goalscorer In the premier league, we are in a better position than arsenal and despite his age he will be good into his 30's because he has no history of career shortening injuries and is so rapid that even a small loss in speed would still would have him faster than most strikers.

The other proven option would be ings but with liverpool ties and I think he only signed on a permanent deal with Southampton this summer would make a no go option but we dont even have to focus solely on getting an actual striker, we could make do with getting a winger as long as we also buy Fernandes as he has goals in him so even buying a creative winger that can rack up the assists + Fernandes should be enough.

This is all a nightmare. We still are in two cup competitions and in the fight for fourth. Writing off this season by not getting anyone in is disgraceful. We have a lot of games left to play and we can't even rotate our current XI. We're about one injury away from Phil Jones in midfield ffs.

It's not even like previous years where we had numbers but not quality. Is it that hard to buy someone who is an improvement on Pereira? Or get a back up target man (Mandzukvic and Ibra have gone on frees...)?

We are rubbish, nobody will sign for us in January and we will have an enormous summer in which we will mess up our targets yet again, we are suffering from last summer, and if the board didnt back OIe last summer then they certainly arent going to this summer. Stick a fork in us.

You might be right, but let’s wait with the doom and gloom until the window is closed maybe?

The doom and gloom is here dude, even at its absolute best this window wont change that. The board, the squad, the entire set up.

Would fans be open to bringing zaha or depay back to United? We could probably strike fair'ish deals for these players as we have first refusal on depay and the sell-on clause with zaha that means palace have been having to hike up their price for other clubs trying to buy him.

Depays done his ACL so is a non-starter in this thread.

Should just promote forwards from the youth system. Worked with Rashford and Greenwood

Man on Sky said "Bring back Wayne Rooney"...I don't know if he's serious or proper trolling us. Nearly threw the remote at the TV....

If reports are to be believed, Werner is available for €60 million and Liverpool are interested, which means we have no chance but it's obviously worth throwing our name into the hat.

Dalot has played that position. Certainly up for debate whether he's actually done well, though.
Haha is it really up for debate? Although he is guaranteed to bust out a (slow as feck) stepover at least once a match.

Piatik or Jovic short term loan with a view to buy.

Fernandes for the midfield. You could make a case for another midfielder as well

Would RW or right sides inside forward meet our needs more. James would move back to the LW with Martial remaining at centre forward.

We'd solve a problem position that has been weak for years and needs to be strengthened in the summer anyway.

If Ziyech has any interest in coming to us then I think we should go for him, play him on the right, keep Martial up top and put James on the left

This is what we needed before ziyech, kangin Lee, Cheuekweze are experienced or raw options that may get better in other positions aswell that also allows Greenwood to take that spot for himself.

Realistically where could we secure a decent loan from? They’d have to be not required at their current club, not for sale, but good enough to contribute at Utd. I guess there may be players trying to secure a place at the euros that aren’t getting enough game time...Piatek? Probably going to be sold.

Why we messing about. Everyone said in the summer that sancho was guaranteed to becoming here, cl or not. Better to save the 100m euros for him in the summer

I can't see how we're finishing in the top 4. At this rate, I'd be relieved in just acquiring some good but fading +30 year old striker on loan. Only doubt is whether Ole can handle stronger personalities.
