Back row. Singing.
He’s a tough, tough kid. Started from the bottom, playing in the National League and has slowly worked his way up through League 2, League 1, championship and now to the Premier League. He’s had a few challenges along the way as well but he certainly fronts up, he doesn’t hide that’s for sure. Proper mentality.

He’ll be a top player, I’m sure of that. He’ll play plenty of games for England.

Some pundits still believe De Gea is the best in the world, above all of them. He has class, and class is permanent for a GK. Just take Lehman's career for example.

Tbf, Henderson's clean sheet isn't that impressive because Shefield has a great defensive system. He has a great season but our awful defending will expose his weakness here.
Which pundits? Those who are reviewing him as of the last 2 seasons, or those who are reminiscing. There were also pundits who thought Rooney was great under Van Gaal, it didn’t make them right.

Henderson has better distribution and commands his area better, both weak areas Dave has been ‘exposed’ at recently. To be honest Henderson is a better fit to our system, he’s better able to cover areas that certain of our defenders have struggled with.
You must really adore Dave (which is nice to see), but he’s lost his mojo and his weaknesses aren’t being covered by unbelievable shot stopping prowess anymore.

It's as if DDG has become this huge liability while Henderson is going to solve all of United's issues, which is just not the case at the moment.

Hendo is doing well, as is Sheffield. They quite possibly are the most defensively sound squad with only 23 goals conceded and only a +2 goal difference yet have amassed a lot of points.

Hendo needs to back up his first season in the Premier League with another one, and one where teams are completely prepared...no PL new boy excuse and caught them by surprise. He'll have expectations to sustain, if not improve upon.

Clean sheets are a by product of your entire defensive unit and shape, never just your keeper. With that said, DDG has made more errors than he used to, but he's still a top keeper.

Overall, goalkeeping and defending haven't been as bad as people want to make it out. Going forward and scoring goals against compact teams is more of an issue.

United and Henderson have a plan in place for his future at United. He's signed through 2022 with an option for 2023.

DDG has a contract until at least June 2023. Their contract will technically overlap.

Personally would have him starting here already next season but this is better than selling him on a cheap in the summer and then scratching our heads when we realise we need a new goalie the following summer.

Another year as a PL GK at Sheffield will be ideal, just like we should have given Tuanzebe another year at Villa.

1 more year then he will be ready to take over DDG.

Why would we sell him?

No mention of his MotM display today? Sheffield fecking United is above us in the table all thanks to him. Should come in and replace DDG.

Am I the only one who would happily show him the door if this is his attitude?

Surely his mentality would be that he would go back and MAKE himself no.1.
You would show him the door because he wants to play football? He's already clearly good enough to be no.1 at a top club, so coming back and playing second fiddle to another WC keeper is a step backwards. No reason why we can't manage him the way Chelsea did with Courtois.

De geas made mistakes whilst Romero can't displace him so why would Henderson get a chance.

There's no form taken in to consideration regarding our goalkeepers - it's better for him if it stays like that he stays out on loan unless that changes at the club.

probably.

Or his mentality is that if United don't rate him enough to make him no 1 then he will make himself England no1 by playing elsewhere
exactly. It’s the right mentality, he’s a young player that wants to play.

A Daily Mail article with no quotes from the player, just a vague link to the MEN, who have been writing their fair share of hot air articles about us recently? Is that all it takes to turn on one of our own players now...

A few months ago the lad himself said "I'd give my right arm to play for that football club", and he willingly signed a 4 year deal back in July.

The kid is desperate to be our keeper, and considering he's been one of the top 3 keepers in the league this season, he's absolutely right to set his sights on that. Even if the article has a shred of truth to it, his attitude is surely an ambitious one and we should nurture that. It would be a waste for him to be a Europa League and EFL Cup keeper, and he knows it.

I would show him the door because he wants it gift wrapped and guaranteed.

He wont be the number 1 here. Dave's reputation and contract will make sure he will be the number 1 for years, regardless who is the better keeper. Henderson could come here and outperform him, Dave would still start most games and the league games/important cup games. That's how it goes

Best to sell with a buy-back. He can't be on loan indefinitely.

Loan him for a year or two to Sheff Utd or even a team abroad if there’s the right proposal. Experience abroad could be invaluable too.

He wants to play first team football. He's not going to displace the world's highest paid keeper by looking sharp in training.

I’d sell De Gea and get Henderson in next season.

De Gea has been unbelievable for us over the years, but it’s clear we need a culture rebuild. Henderson is much more of a leader than Dave as well.

De Gea + Pogba + Martial = Mbappe is the ideal solution.

This as it gives us the option a couple of years with De Gea to determine whether he can regain his form whilst Henderson settles at a new team. We also get some cash for immediate first team needs.

I would give him a chance. Might struggle under the pressure here, but I think he would do well.

Henderson told the Kelly and Wrighty show: 'The big dream is to play for Manchester United one day.

'I've always had that dream throughout my life so until that's accomplished I'll never think I've made it.

'Even if I play for them once I won't think I've made it. I need to play for them 500 times, 300 times, whatever it is, then you can turnaround at the end of your career and say, 'I made it, I did what I set out to do'.'

I'd send him on a two season loan to another premier league club on the basis that he'll be our number 1 when he comes back. If he continues to do well and De Gea drops off (which is a big possibility) - then it only makes sense he becomes our number 1. It's the same thing Chelsea have been doing for years and reaping the benefits.

He should be our keeper. The De Gea situation is annoying and that noone wants to buy him.
Hopefully we do not mess this up totally. Although I am expecting us to mess it up.

Should be number 1 for England too. Although I am sure Pickford will be in goal.
I am not english so doesn't matter to me if Pickford mess things up.

If we're doing a proper rebuild and cultural reset, I'd have Henderson here as part of it. Not sure if any club are still after DDG but I'd sell him and Pogba to finance the rebuild. Dave won't be here forever. Get the most we can for him amd move on, hopefully with Hendo who's proven himself so far...

Said it a while ago when De Gea was having that terrible year long spell.. Dean is the future for us, as good as De Gea has been over the years, his distribution seems to be getting worse, and I just think we need those hungry players if we’re truly rebuilding the club, he’s one of the best keepers in the league at 21, sheff U can’t believe they’re luck that we keep loaning him there...

I think DDG will be sold this summer. If a club like PSG is needing a top class keeper, then this summer would be the right time to approach United. Henderson strikes me as the type who would thrive under the United pressure in the press and just press on, like he has done at SU.
United don't need to sell DDG as they can loan DH again, but I just think that he will be sold as we have a suitable replacement available for free and, initially anyway, a fraction of the wages. Perfect scenario for the Glazers and Woodward.

I don’t think it would be a good idea to sell De Gea and immediately make Henderson fill his shoes as first choice. We all saw what happened with Ben Foster, what happens if Henderson shits the bed after we’ve already sold De Gea?

Luckily we've got Kovar as well who is looking like an absolute top prospect if we decide to get rid of Henderson.
