what we need is a rumor this window about trying to bring an old vet out of retirement that either played for us, or we chased in a previous window. De Rossi, Sneijder, etc. Peak nonsense.

edit: forgot we already sort of got the former with the Tevez rumor.
Also the Rooney rumour.

Wow, great signing. If there was one thing missing from their squad it was a creative central midfielder. They have quite a lot of workhorse midfielders in Laimer, Kampl, Adams and Haidara but none of them are creative, they rely on their wingers for creating plays more.

Not sure how he would fit in their current 4-2-2-2 formation but would surely give him variation in moving to other systems with an attacking midfielder.
Yup, great choice to go there. If he had gone to Barcelona or Madrid or some other top club his career would be in danger. In Leipzig he'll play a lot, his worth will rise. Hopefully he'll get picked up for Euros too.

Over 3 weeks into the window, after struggling for consistency with injuries and a tiny squad and no experience in the squad for 6 months, long term injuries to key players... and we're "tentatively exploring a deal". This is the problem. What the feck have they been doing for the other 6 months of the season where we should be planning for signings? Same with Bruno Fernandes. It's like they do feck all for recruitment until the window actually opens up. Somebody tell Woodward he can do negotiations and agree transfers before the actual window opens up, or at least start them.

What’s the point buying players for a manager who is going to be sacked. Or are we looking at the summer window on the horizon, where we’ll do all these deals, but wait no, the new manager will then need to assess his squad and give Jesse another year to prove he should be retained.
Feck it’s all false promises at United, heard them so many times.

McT recovery ahead of schedule despite leaving on crutches and a brace yesterday?
Now all we are waiting for is the news that Rashford's injury wasn't as bad as first feared and he'll be ready for the weekend game.

What a load of rubbish, doubt the average fan believes this. The briefings are hilarious by Ed and the circus.
To be fair to him though everybody is entitled to feel and he "feels (or he's been feeling ) the need for six players". Now whether that feeling will be translated into reality is way beyond our imagination and Ed says Hello.

We needed those 6 last summer, in addition to the 3 we transfer we actually made. I'd argue that Lindelof isn't good enough to be a regular starter so we need another CB as well. So that's 7 starters needed. Not kids, not squad players, but 7 starters of the requesite level for Manchester United.

So to not have a plan to get more this January is criminal. This club is ran by buffoons.

Here's the thing about that... If Ole thinks we need those 6 types of players to do well in his 4-2-3-1 system, then the system doesnt suit the players and we shouldnt be using it. It hasnt brought out the best in many players, perhaps only Rashford from the left but he could probably do that in another system playing off the left as well.

Ironically, they just announced the signing of a new PR man for precisely the above job.
Then that man isn't doing his job as Woody has been coming out with the six signings thing for two windows, and countless other pieces of propaganda - the PR man should be telling Woodward to stop assuming everyone is a gullible fool (though that is debatable) and stop with the press releases.

Who ever bought Woodward Goebbels's book should be slapped with a wet fish.

Maybe 10-0-0 could work with our players..

Our squad is too thin to play a 3 man midfield so 4-3-3 is out.

We could try 4-4-2 but we only really have James who is a winger, two fit strikers so if you need to change it means changing the formation. Maybe James and Chong could play as out and out wingers with Greenwood and Martial up top. A striker would be a must in January for this to work.

Maybe 5-3-2 works while Rashford is out. You would want to drop AWB and play Dalot for some attacking threat down the right. A back five of Dalot, Lindelof, Maguire, Rojo and Williams. Matic and Fred. Mata/Lingard/Pereira behind Martial and Greenwood. We’d really need a midfielder and striker for depth.

point is leaving ourselves thin like we have mean there isn’t much in the way of options.

Not happening, spin doctor bullshit as usual.

Also, 2/3 of Ole's signings (on which he blew £130m) were not suited to this style of football so why would anyone trust him to sign more players? The man is winging it.
