There are a proportion of football fans that will never change. Lowlife hooligan scum, who see football as an excuse to behave like fecking thugs. Absolutely disgusted, anyone who endorses that behaviour or comes up with phrases like "I'm not saying it's okay but..." can simply feck off - they're part of the problem too. Dickhead mob mentality.

Why does United fans feel so f*cking entitled that they can raid someone's residence? I will have to stop following the club if such activities recur.

Alright outrage, it's an honest opinion that a few won't voice. I'm glad that your disgusted, might wake a few up out of the passive coma some are in. The same people moaning about the Glazers will still buy merchandise and do nothing by the summer. The latest protests at the home of Ed is crass but might bring real attention to the thief. I'm not a hypocrite, I laughed and didn't feel one bit bad. I don't condone the move and violence but it's pro active, what have you done?
It's...a football club...that has a team of millionaires...that plays a game...and we are losing the game...and you are praising the pro active nature of attacking a person's house who is in charge of the club.

What have I done? Nothing. What have you done? Seriously if football affects you to the point where you think criminal damage is acceptable as a way of protesting then you desperately need a new hobby and interest, and some strong reflection of your perspective and values. You must be seriously bored. I know it's cliche to say, and it is said a lot, and crucify me for it if you wish...but it's just a game. Literally. Yes, things are crap at the moment...but so what?? Does it affect your job and income, your family? No. Singing about a CEO dying and then attacking his house certainly can (and probably will) affect those things, but that's all on you. 100% your fault and nothing to do with Manchester United. You and all the others doing this, get a grip for Christ sake.

Rant over.

  This is brilliant.

Dude had a flair thrown in his garden, it’s disgusting behaviour but if you feel these idiots represent you as a fan enough for you to stop supporting the club then that’s ridiculous and you probably should stop.

A bit self righteous.

Hope you find the right club that embodies your values

Sing songs about burning him, idiots take it to heart. Sad how stupid some people are that they actually act in such disgusting criminal ways.

It's hard to wrap my head around why some people are making excuses for these utter scumbags. We all want Woodward out but attacking his home with flares where his wife and two children reside is not the way to go about it. It's a disgusting thing to do.

I guess the Sun has pictures of scorched gnomes on the front cover this morning and some sensationalist headline.
 The 5-10 drunken scallies will have become a small army of rampaging maniacs and the flare will be something menacing sounding, like 'an explosive device' or 'flaming death projectile'.

Scanning this thread:

- Some Blaming Neville?
- Some suggesting it was an inside job to improve his PR
- Some trying to question if rioting is bad provided no one gets hurt
- Some in denial that they were from the United fan base

I wouldn't bet against writers including quotes from this thread as proof of the 'uncontrollable anger that is gripping United's fanbase'.

I'd wipe the thing and start from scratch, given some of the posts.

Unacceptable but lets face it, it has been coming.
Some football fans are the lowest denominator in terms of intelligence.
I am surprised it has taken so long. We've been shit for seven years. Its only going to get worse.
Some other clubs would have reached this point ages ago.

It obviously is an opinion and it's completely fine to voice it. Doesn't make it any less disgusting in my book and I will keep calling people out on that if I see the need to. It shows a crass lack of empathy that I don't tolerate in my private circle and I like to challenge people on their views as well. Especially so if they show a lack of concern or complete disregard for their fellow human's physical or mental health.

Btw. I don't have to do anything to actively change the club's policies. It's not my job. I've long buried the urge to pump my hard earned money into this pro football circus. I follow games on the radio and on the telly from time to time if on free TV as a form of entertainment and sure... I'd wish for things to be different at United. Support or tolerance for acts of violence though? Never!

I don't agree with these actions but that's exactly what happens when you treat something of an international heritage as a third rated business whose there just to suck money from. People will rebel. At this point Woodward should resign and the Glazers should sell to people who actually understands what United is all about or at least to people that can afford us. There's no point risking of getting hurt because of money.

Yep, in true Caf fashion it's spanned the whole spectrum, from borderline sociopathy to shrill hypersensitivity.
@momo83 actually used it to suggest that Woodward has done more good for United than Solskjaer ever did. Including reducing the debt that he himself was fundamental in creating.

Obviously threats and violence are taking it too far but I don’t mind seeing Ed get some harassment.

I’ve suggested before we could block his car from leaving the house or something similar. Just make his life a misery.

He must have earnt over £10m from us over the years. It shouldn’t take much for him to say it’s not worth that hassle anymore.

Hysterical much, go start a Justice for Ed campaign if your so deeply annoyed. Aye it's only a game, to you maybe.
Chatting if you are enlightened and the rest are beneath you. Take your smug reflective perspective and do something with it. I suppose you won't as it's only a game. United is more to some, I actually was on my break at work when I read your post. Just wish more fans would be honest and passionate. Is someone genuinely annoyed about poor Ed. I'm sure all the bonuses he's got from the top will sort things out. One thing the club done well is address the issue quick. Haven't seem to done that in a while. As I said, if you don't agree with my opinion fine. I will be honest and not a hypocrite.

Love United, hate Glazer.
Or in your case,
Like United as there only a team and it's only a game, obey the law and respect the owners.

To those of you putting up any sort of defence for the mob at Woodward's house: Condoning such acts of violence in any way is showing a total disrespect for fellow human beings. You need a number of semi conscious enablers to instigate a climate of fear and create mobs. The idiots who threw the flares crave for someone to tell them they did good. Congratulations on (stupidly) playing that part!

This, basically. We all love football but in the end, the game isn't such a big deal.

If this story is real I hope the perpetrators are apprehended.
Having said that, after Ed hired the PR guy I have reservations when reading a story like this.
Not a bad point and I wouldn’t rule it out. To this day, I still believe the AdM “burglary” was a setup.

It could be a PR stunt . I mean we are thickly and the media are a crazy bunch wouldn’t surprise me if they said this will give you abit more time.

I mean are people going to still consider walking out the ground against Wolves? We should but I bet this cools some of the anger.

Know what? A scum is a scum is a scum, no matter if he throws something at someone's residence (with kids in it), or posts smart-ass comments on Redcafe. But then I don't think you are a true United fan, so don't give a shit.

Are you stupid?

why bring anything to his private life?

block his car in? He’s got family there for Christ sake, why do they deserve to experience or witness moronic intimidation from thugs??

nobody should, it’s football

yes as football fans we are passionate folk, but there’s no need to take things this seriously

Intrigued to find out who’s involved in this. The people involved in 2005 protests have long stopped getting involved..: It’s either a group of young wanna-bees or the MEC have perhaps all now got Snapchat accounts
