Know what? A scum is a scum is a scum, no matter if he throws something at someone's residence (with kids in it), or posts smart-ass comments on Redcafe. But then I don't think you are a true United fan, so don't give a shit.
Don't be so hard on yourself mate.

Failing a Jib anywhere, anyhow
Shock it’s happened on a night he’s not there and the club have leaked all the financial details to the Fernandes deal.

Staged as feck and leaked ASAP on a fake screen recording. Ashton worth his money

Nonchalantly scoring the winner...
Conspiracy theory or not, it is mental that after years of treating the club like utter shit, this happens within days of him hiring a Sun PR guru.

And then odd that it is leaked to all big media outlets - BBC etc - as many would choose to keep it provate for security purposes and to ensure that copycat endeavors don't occur, and also odd that it occurred the same day that Utd confirm Fernandes deal makes progress...

It's incredible timing for him - and without doubt, it does ease pressure on him and paint him in a sympathetic light.

He certainly doesn't need the Sun PR guy that he hired just a week ago anymore!

Honestly, am I in such a small minority who isnt ‘that’ bothered or disgusted.
Yeah they went too far and I dont like the idea of his family being intimidated but really its just about them deserving a police caution or whatever. It was just a small number of people with a can of spray paint and a cpl of flares. No one was ever going to be hurt.
OK a couple of idiots going a bit too far but it was just a flare lobbed over a gate. Theres worse happen every day in every town.
Is this overreaction due to media sensationalism or am i being 43 just not as sensitive to stuff as younger people?
My biggest gripe is that a couple of idiots have generated massive sympathy for Ed to be honest.

Intrigued to find out who’s involved in this. The people involved in 2005 protests have long stopped getting involved..: It’s either a group of young wanna-bees or the MEC have perhaps all now got Snapchat accounts
I saw a tweet last night at about 9pm before the news broke, saying MEC are back. I’m sure it’s a mixture of older and newer fans though.

I’m not condoning it at all, but it’s nothing new. Football fans in England are pretty sheltered compared to what happens in Europe.

 The 5-10 drunken scallies will have become a small army of rampaging maniacs and the flare will be something menacing sounding, like 'an explosive device' or 'flaming death projectile'.
Anyone who's ever lived in Manchester or even visited will know this is just classic scally behaviour. Very funny to see a small group of Stone Island clad yoofs wielding a flare getting bigged up as some mobilised militia.

Hysterical much, go start a Justice for Ed campaign if your so deeply annoyed. Aye it's only a game, to you maybe.
Chatting if you are enlightened and the rest are beneath you. Take your smug reflective perspective and do something with it. I suppose you won't as it's only a game. United is more to some, I actually was on my break at work when I read your post. Just wish more fans would be honest and passionate. Is someone genuinely annoyed about poor Ed. I'm sure all the bonuses he's got from the top will sort things out. One thing the club done well is address the issue quick. Haven't seem to done that in a while. As I said, if you don't agree with my opinion fine. I will be honest and not a hypocrite.

Love United, hate Glazer.
Or in your case,
Like United as there only a team and it's only a game, obey the law and respect the owners.

Obviously threats and violence are taking it too far but I don’t mind seeing Ed get some harassment.

I’ve suggested before we could block his car from leaving the house or something similar. Just make his life a misery.

He must have earnt over £10m from us over the years. It shouldn’t take much for him to say it’s not worth that hassle anymore.
You're really sad. It's like being at school. Grow up.

I like the detail one of the Men in Black went into sitting down with a sun/mirror journalist. We pressed the intercom, but nobody was home

Probably the same bunch of yobs that were outside Rooneys house when he wouldn't renew his contract.

Moronic. I don't like Ed or the Glazers either, but he doesn't deserve that.

That tweet is quite ridiculous really, the guy who controls the money has a huge part in a transfer? Well never?

I cannot believe this. What a disgrace! The man has a wife and very young children! Wtf. The press and pundits also wind up some fans who allow and also feed into the toxicity. There is a way to protest against him without threatening violence. I hope the club sends a strong statement out against this kind of behaviour. Disgusting.

It obviously is an opinion and it's completely fine to voice it. Doesn't make it any less disgusting in my book and I will keep calling people out on that if I see the need to. It shows a crass lack of empathy that I don't tolerate in my private circle and I like to challenge people on their views as well. Especially so if they show a lack of concern or complete disregard for their fellow human's physical or mental health.

Btw. I don't have to do anything to actively change the club's policies. It's not my job. I've long buried the urge to pump my hard earned money into this pro football circus. I follow games on the radio and on the telly from time to time if on free TV as a form of entertainment and sure... I'd wish for things to be different at United. Support or tolerance for acts of violence though? Never!
Good post, I don't condone it but I understand why it happened. As I said I'm glad the family are safe and unharmed, I don't care about Ed Woodward that's the point. I find it disingenuous to show real sympathy like many in here. We aren't talking about an honest man who's just got in to a unfortunate situation. He helped broker a deal for owners on funds that didn't exist to buy a club, that's unethical and crippled the progress of the football club, at the expense of millions of fans.

It's a great that you feel you don't have to tolerate that in your private circle. I applaud that, I'll challenge anyone that I feel is dishonest in mine. I have contrasting opinions based on who I meet but like to give everyone a chance. You can find my opinion disgusting but I'm going to to say it. There is momentum growing against the owners, it's consequences that have brought these actions.

I think the answer lies with Neil Ashton, or whichever Sun reporter broke the sinister and sickening story instantaneously, or whoever arranged the family not to be in at 11pm on a school night, or one of the operatives of the professional looking camera footage which happened to catch this disgraceful act. Yep, I think try one of those people-they might know?

It shouldn’t stop the protests but should change the tone of them. No one needs to visit his house or even chant die Ed Woodward, if people want him out you just need to focus on his repeated failure and incompetence.

Idiotic behaviour. How does this help the club? Propably makes other people in the club afraid for their families and makes the club increase security and hire more guards. Stupid as feck.

No wonder he and Jose didn't last. Two narcissists obsessed with themselves in one club

This attack isn’t exactly a conspiracy, it’s not coming from nowhere. It’s clear the fans are riled up again with Woodward hate now more than ever, a lot of chants about his death, is that a conspiracy too?

It’s clear a select few have gone overboard here and are acting embarrassing.

Let’s not defend these pricks and say it was some conspiracy.

....which is still wrong?

Absolutely pathetic idiots who did this. The guy has 2 young kids which makes it even worse.
It's wrong but i could understand what they did.the board don't listen to the fans so then try something else.at least somebody got to do it and they did and i respect that.maybe it effected the glazers as well.

But i agree when It comes to his young
Kids you can't do that

Whoa I didn’t know that guy worked for the Sun. Some other poster said it got reported almost immediately after it happened when no one was home if I recall correctly.

Agreed, Woodward is a total twat and is clearly leading a rearguard action to launder his abysmal reputation with United fans.

It should also be said that the 'heavies' who went down to Woodward's house are absolute bellends who we don't need following United.
