I thought you suggested Balotelli. Almost replying with F word there.

16/17 season I was very excited by Belotti and one of Torino's Midfielders at the time (can't remember his name for the life of me). Not heard much about him and don't have time for much football outside England recently. But hard to imagine he has lost his finishing ability and knack of finding the right spaces. Could be worth a look into, but makes too much sense for our recruitment unfortunately.
Yep, he had so much hype back then. Honestly, I've never really seen much of him, and, if I have watched a Torino game, I can't say I've noticed him too much, but his goalscoring record is seemingly good. Since joining Torino 5 seasons ago, he's scored 85 goals in 170 games.

I'm not saying we should buy him because I don't really have an opinion on the player himself, but he might be worth a look.

I thought you suggested Balotelli. Almost replying with F word there.

Not paid that much attention to this in last few days. Who are the available strikers we've been linked with?

Dont get why we wouldn't be in for josip illic of atalanta, he only has 6 months left on his contract, he can play anywhere across the attack, tends to get 10+ goals a season and good technically.

even if we dont sign him this window I would hope we would at the very least be trying to sign him for free come the summer, these are the type of shrewd signings we need to start making, it's done wonders for Juventus over the years snapping up bargains.

Cheeky bid for Giroud anyone?
Cant imagine Chelsea would do such a deal, they dont want to potentially help strengthen a top 4 rival and lose out on champions league football, this is the reason why they haven't allowed him to go to spurs even though he would be a perfect fit for Mourinho.

Aye, I agree, but many would have said the same about RVP  Never say never and I think Giroud offers more than anything else we could get right now and I highly doubt Chelsea are happy to have a player sat around being paid as much as he is (guessing its notably higher than Abraham and Batsuyai (?) ) Although the rumours of King wouldnt be to bad.

King would be great as a backup striker. Could definitely help with the top 4 chase.

What about Edouard from Celtic? Young striker that’s been scoring goals on a regular basis for both club and the U21’s. I think £25M could potentially do it.

Ole rates him, Norwegian, knows the club. Only strange part would be Bournemouth doing it at the end of the window when they're pretty much fecked.

Not at the end of the window when Rangers have a chance of beating them to the league. I'd be very surprised..

Yeah, doesnt make sense, especially since we are most likely having him on a loan.

And they are currently in relegation zone as well.

But he would be a decent backup, brings some physicality as well.

Yes I would go for that. Only looked on youtube at him, but £25 mill to Utd is like us gambling a fiver.

King would be a bit left-field and underwhelming but to be honest, I haven't seen much of him. If he's fit and willing, why not, on loan.

Personally I'd go for Dembele of Lyon, have him as our main striker until the summer, then get another top striker. Have them compete or rotate

As for Martial....controversial but I'd sell him this summer. He isn't a great striker and not amazing on the wing either. If we can get more than what we paid for him, take the money and get a quality number 10 or right attacking winger and finally add some balance to this team.

I'd take any loan striker to be honest, right now. Someone with a pulse and at least average ability can at least play 20mins a game and rest Martial/Greenwood a bit.
Pretty much my pre requisite at this point.

Just need someone we can shove up there that might be able to score a goal or two

Josh King really? Hahaha

How standards have dropped, whats his goal scoring record again?

I think some fans would be happy with anything to be fair so long as its a signing, the fans are as bad as the clueless Woodward and Judge

With Josh King I keep remembering my FM09 (or 08) save where his name was on Uniteds squad list with Ronaldo, Rooney & Tevez, which is making me think he’s better than he probably is.

Yeah, sadly I dont think Dembele is attainable now. Would be awesome though.

Martial needs a mental coach.

To be fair he often plays from the left or as a second striker. He has ability.

of course he has ability hes a professional

What im sayin is fans are in uproar about our recruitment, the shite poorly thought out signings weve made for years, and the crap sub standard thats in our current squad, yet out of pure desperation some want to add to it, now is not the time for scattergun sign anybody approach.

Ole is correct in being patient and waiting for the correct characters and quality
Just a shame he currently has Woodward and Judge onboard

Dont think he would be a permanent signing. Though why Bournemouth would loan him to us I have no idea. Was thinking about a swap loan deal but who in the hell would they want from us

Lingard is exactly the sort of overpriced Brit Bournemouth can be fooled into buying.

Here's hoping ;)

Josh King would be a decent signing given he can play anywhere across a front three. Not overly exciting but we are only looking for cover at this point. That’s obviously assuming we aren’t paying loads of money for him!

Said it ages ago, still believe it now, we need a first choice striker. Obviously won't get one this month, but hopefully in the summer. Desperately need one for the rest of the season too, hopefully we can get someone over the line.
