I had to turn off the Rockets game. Everyone seems depressed, the players, the pundits, painful to watch.

I'm beyond shocked and saddened to hear about the passing of Kobe, his daughter Gianna and those who were also with them. My thoughts are with all who are affected by this unfortunate event.

Minnesota v Sacramento was fun watch towards the end. I couldn't sleep so I caught the second half, Minnesota were ahead by 22 in the fourth quarter and up by 17 with less than 3 minutes on the clock and still managed to lose that game, despite shooting ridiculously good from three. Fox had two free throws with 3.6 seconds on the clock, at 116-119 and deliberately missed & rebounded second of them to get it square.

I didn't really grasp why Wolves refused to go to Towns in that game. Kings were playing without a center for most of the game and he had Bjelica on him, he should have been able to kill him in the post but I don't think they tried that play even five times. Don't really see where that team is going now, seems like there's really no cohesion, no clear gameplan and they are losing game after game after game...

The annual All-Star snub story is tedious. Someone is always unlucky to miss out but it happens.

Booker missing out. With one of Westbrook, Ingram and Mitchell being the one demonized for making it (at least going by most on Twitter).

Does look like they are overloaded with ball handlers and could have another shooter. Bron, Harden, Doncic, Russ, Paul, Lillard are all ball dominant players, so probably a case for Devin to get in ahead of one of them, probably Paul/Russ.

That was powerful. LA's love for Kobe is unmeasurable.

I guess...but it depends if you really care about team structure/fit in an All-Star game. With the draft they do it's not like all the West players will be together either.

Dame has been out of this world recently. 61, 47 50, 36 and 48 points and double digit assists in the last three games. He’s going to catapult us into playoffs at this rate. I am on the fence on whether I actually want it that much, but then again this draft doesn’t really inspire me. If we could get Covington for that pick now I’d probably be up for it to be fair though no idea how we match salaries as I don’t want to let Whiteside go.

Russ hasn't been playing that well until Jan.

The coaches basically voted him in off his reputation and 1 month performance.

51 again today against the Jazz.

Has he catipulted himself to the MVP conversation? Doncic, James and Harden have been really cold lately and I'm that time Dame has been absolutely insane.

Maybe it would be difficult given Portland aren't in the playoff spot yet, but individually few people have been better than him. Hope they reach the playoffs with their players coming back.

Lonzo Ball has been proving a lot of his haters wrong. He really is a Talented PG I think the move to NOLA was the best thing that could of happened to him. His and Zions chemistry is really good and they look to be a great 1-2 punch.

That team could be awesome very soon. They are already underperforming this year compared to where they should be, no excuse to not be around .500 even without Zion with guys like Jrue, Ball, Ingram, Redick, Favors and Hart in your rotation. I know a lot of them have been in and out of the lineup due to injuries but when it clicks, they could be very very good. Still think they will be close to playoffs if Zion stays healthy until the end of season. Probably around 40-42 wins.

When the next star becomes available it’s going to be super interesting. The usual teams like LA and Boston probably won’t be mentioned in the conversation anymore as they don’t have real tradeable assets, but the smaller market teams actually have loads of assets - like OKC or New Orleans. Will they try to go for someone like Beal?

Somewhere in the middle are probably the Knicks. Enough assets as their picks are always good because they always suck, big market but have been so underwhelming for so long that I’m not even sure major stars would re-sign there.

Can't speak for other small market teams but there's a 5% chance - or less - that OKC trade for a star within the next 2-3 years. We're committed to drafting at least one potential star before trading one in.

How do you draft that one potential star with one of the picks OKC will have though? Unless you’re Toronto it’s hard to find a star in non-lottery and 20s.

OKC will tank next season or the one after. There own pick will be good. Who knows where Houston will be in 3-5 years too. Those picks might be very valuable.

Indeed, good point about Houston picks. They will be diabolical in 3-5 years for sure.

Houston are looking to trade Capela. Guess they will do anything to not pay the tax. Minnesota should move Covington too, won’t be surprised if he goes to Houston under these circumstances in a deal that will include 3-4 different teams (they proposed this in Dunc’d On podcast last week and I laughed it off thinking they can’t give away Capela... apparently they can and want to do that).

With trade deadline coming in 3 days there should already be some movement today. I don’t expect major moves to happen this year but some of the obvious suspects like Morris, Rose, Covington should be on the move. Maybe even Russell if they get a good deal. Think Bertrans should be on the move as well but probably won’t.
