Really starting to warm up to this guy, he seems like a genuine fan that's living the dream right now. Wasn't at all fussed by the move on deadline day but I'm more than willing to give him a chance the more we learn about him.

Feels good having a player willing to take a pay cut to join a team he loves for a change. He also seems to have a plan for how to fit in best tactically with the rest of our forwards given that he's been watching our games

I have a good feeling about this, although I was not a big fan of this but thinking logically we have very little to lose from this. If it works then awesome, if it doesn't he can go back to china and we can go back to abusing Woodward.

I'm hoping he is a focal point for the attack, brings others in to play with some clever forward play.

Martial, goes looking for the ball and then is often not in the box when we do get the ball wide. I don't think Ighalo will do this. He'll link play well, allow the likes of Martial, James, Bruno and Pogba to run beyond. Hopefully get a few goals too.

It's like the plot for the movie Goal 4!

ok then
Does he post on the Caf? His first comment was if we could get someone better, we should have, he was proud indeed!

Edit: I'm glad the tone from each interviewee got lighter as the video went on, the first guy was something else, like he had an agenda vs United.

I think he will score between 5 to 9 goals and become a cult hero. There will be pressure to turn his deal to permanent. Which the board will succumb to. All plans to get a top striker will be abandoned. He will then have a massive goal drought and we will be begging the board to get a new striker in January.
If he does OK I can see us signing him and tbh he'd jump at the chance I think.

But it absolutely shouldn't be at the cost of signing someone else.

It's gonna be
Martial - Ighalo - James

Isn't it? Surely?

Someone clearly hasn't seen the team, ever! How far back would you have to go to find a Manchester United team without black players?

.... a quick google later....

in the 70's. Since then we've regularly had black players in our team - http://www.mufcinfo.com/manupag/anti_racism/anti_racism.html
It feels like United had fewer black players than other sides for a long time. Giggs and Paul Parker were in our first 10. Rio was in the first 20. We've essentially doubled the number of black people with Manchester United appearances over the last 10 years alone.

And yet his former club, Chelsea couldn't get one striker in that very same window despite going to court to get it's transfer ban lifted.
I am guessing it means that Chelsea is non existent in world football then?

People are making such stupid assessment about a loanee.
Yup, added to the fact we are United and everyone is desperate to have a slight on us.

Ighy will score the FA Cup winner against the dippers to stop their treble ala 1977.

Loving him already. The smile he has on his face - gosh, wish all had it. Hope he adds some goals and makes it memorable!

What makes you say his finishing is pretty bad?
From his time at Watford, he always seemed to scuff them in.

Also have Nigerian friends who moan about how many chances he misses for the national team.

His goal ratio in the CSL is pretty decent. He scored 25 goals in the championship and 17 in the PL. He knows the PL which is a bonus. I am not expecting him to be anything amazing but a player that could get a goal and occupy the penalty area so others have space.

Just once in a while I want to see a ST in the box in the 85th min if we are chasing a goal.

Missing chances is not a bad thing either, the good thing is he is there when they fall to him no?

Not for one second comparing him to Sterling, but he misses buckets of chances yet he is lauded for his positional play.

Love this man already.
Same, his happiness and desire to be able to play for United is so refreshing and infectious. Really hope he does well, from my memories of his time at Watford, he's strong, quick, has decent technique and can use his imagination to break free. Not going to light the world on fire, but I hope he surprises alot of people.

I’m really buying in to the idea of Ole being DOF. Maybe this guy will be a success, maybe he won’t. But our approach to transfers is the best it’s been since Fergie. I absolutely agree with everything he’s done with the squad since he joined. Perhaps Ole is lacking tactically, but I love this squad he’s building and I think it could be quite special in a couple of years.

Is it me or do some fans need to realise the harsh reality. Just because it is Manutd, that doesn't mean we are entitled to the best players.

We have to understand that there have been mistakes in the past and to correct those we have to suffer some pain.

Ighalo is a good signing given the circumstances. There was no one else in the market we could have realistically have got.

We have to just get back to getting back to the top rather than thinking we just belong there without working for it.

Fantastic interview - really rooting for the guy! We're seeing with him, Bruno, Maguire, James and AWB players that are coming to the club for the right reasons. This is why I trust Ole, he's getting the right kind of players into the club. It's a process but we'll see the benefits down the line.

Nice guy looking forward to playing for his dream club.

They’re probably abducting black people, brainwashing them and making them slaves. Or sex slaves, not just regular slaves but sex slaves and shit.

I think odion ighalo will do very well for the club, it's a no lose situation for me, he'll be trying his best hoping for an extended stay or maybe a permanent move if he sticks a few goals in, he's loved the club from being a youngster and hasn't come for the money unlike some in the team has, good luck to the lad, he's just the type of player we wanted, a penalty box striker who'll be in the right place at the right time an sniff out a few tap ins if he's given his chance in the team.

Potential cult hero.

Can't wait to see his fingers pointing to the skies when he scores.

Maybe this will give Martial a much needed kick up the arse to find form again, I like that Ighalo has already been written off by most of the media & pundits because think it will really put the fire in his belly to prove them wrong.
