Bayern would easily finish top 4 in the Prem though, in fairness.

They’re definitely more competent than us, Arsenal, United or Chelsea.
I'm not so sure about that. I think we're inconsistent enough to be just one contender for top 4 among the others.

Apparently, judging by your post, it's about my lack of posting for 24 hours.
Nope the thread is about your boys being bitch slapped by a team you said would be a sideways step for players leaving Spurs. It's a thread about your boys have a new arse hole torn by a side you said would only scrap a top 4 finish in the PL

As I've already said: "Bayern just lost at home to Hoffenheim.

Do I draw big conclusions from this? No. But neither do I draw big conclusions from Spurs being battered the other night by Bayern.

It's football - shit happens. But only fools create knee-jerk threads like this based on a single game ...."

And of course your initial statements were those made of a wise old elf eh

Take up your dispute with a Bayern fan who agrees that they'd be "just one contender for top 4 among the others" @GhastlyHun

Bayern fans seem to be really negative about their own team. Probably because they aren’t the super team they once were.

The PL isn’t THAT much of a dog fight .. City and Liverpool over the last couple of the years have proven that.

Exchanges between you two always make me think of a sibling relationship; you, the older brother, telling the younger one that that's not how the alley cat politics works.

How often do actual elite clubs concede 7 goals at home? If this is just shit happens, business as usual, it shouldn't be hard to find plenty of examples.

It definitely isn’t .. and I can’t imagine any of our fans (even Glaston, if he was totally honest) writing it off as a mere fluke.

Especially since in the same week we put it in the worst performance I’ve seen from a Spurs team post-Redknapp. Taken apart by Brighton.

100% something very wrong with the club right now.

That's kind of the point, isn't it? We're not the super team we were, and therefore we wouldn't have a free run to the top group of the PL table. We do not control games anymore, and it shows whenever we do not convert every half chance we get, unlike the riot vs Spurs. We often don't even create more or better chances against midtable teams, and are at the mercy of our star players flashes of genius.
Calling for back up? Oh how the mighty have fallen
My backup goes so far as to our current form and our chances of a top four finish. Spurs being as 'big' a club as Bayern with similar appeal to players and similar international prestige is a different matter. ;)

You’re not what you were, but the PL outside the top 2 is pretty damn poor to average, to the point Leicester have a hope of getting in this season. We are in disarray, Chelsea are a bunch of kids but still up there, and Arsenal are .. Arsenal, with United in a mess too.

You would have enough quality about you to comfortably get third, I think. Wouldn’t be near the top two but the rest are even more inconsistent than you think you are. None of the other top 4 contenders in the PL, even on their most perfect days, could do what you did to us.

This reminds of the guy who argued Crystal Palace would win the portuguese league.

It must be inconvenient to have a Bayern fan raining on your parade. Never mind. Chin up.
In your absolute honest-to-god, non-wummery opinion, do you still believe moving from Spurs to Bayern would be a sideways step given the current situations between the two clubs?

Not 7, but a few elite clubs have been humiliated at home. It happens. Us at home to City. Real at home to Barcelona.

The "current situation" is more than just a few games, despite the knee-jerk, short-attention span nature of many posts on here.

It includes the fact that Bayern play in an inferior league compared to the Prem and haven't reached the CL final for many years, whereas Spurs play in a stronger league and reached the final a few months ago.

So, if you want to play in more of a backwater league, then hell, yes, go sign for Bayern.

The team is not the problem. We have wonderful players that could all really shine and win everything with the right coach on the sideline. But somehow apart from Heynckes the last choices were Ancelotti and Kovac.

Bayern will always be a bigger club.

However; if you looked at is at the end of last season from Spurs to Bayern it would be a side step because the PL is so competitive and were doing well in Champions League.

Look at Maguire.. he probably feels it has been a side step coming to United even though we are a bigger club.

Name these days does not matter unless you are performing well.

The only 2 clubs in the world who can sign anyone are Real and Barca. All other clubs have to show recent success and a plan.

Didn't Countinho reject the chance to sign for Spurs and decided to move to Bayern instead? So much for a team in a backwater league

But really, this whole 'EPL is amazing and all other leagues except them and Spain are shite, no one wants to play for them' is stupid. Other clubs might have trouble financially but with Bayern that isn't the case, we've seen plenty of big names want to move to Bayern even when clubs from other leagues are interested and few wanting to leave for 'bigger leagues'.

Since when was the Bundesliga a backwater league anyway? It’s one of the major ones in the world.

Clearly not as good, or big, as the Premier League but with Bayern you’re choosing the dominant side there.

With Spurs you’re choosing a team who might be the fourth best. Certainly right now I can’t see anyone choosing our current mess over Bayern.

So getting to a final now counts more than actually winning stuff. Given the chance of joining a massive club that wins things or joining spurs who last win anything of note in 1991, hard choice!

I dont buy that. The WUM ting, its too much effort for what?
I think Glaston is a very compassionate Spurs supporter and even if I dont completely get the reasons why he is on here on an opposite fan forum; I kind of hope its because the Caf is an inclusive forum that accepts other clubs fans.
I am so shocked with myself that I am defending him on here, giving our history. But I kind of respect his dedication. IMO a lot of our supporters should do the same. Not application-wise maybe; but like with the attitude.
Being a football fan isn't meant to be like being a cult fanatic.

Bayern actually won the thing the last time they got to the final though, Spurs didn't even turn up up a few months ago

And yeah then there's the Coutinho thing that @hasanejaz88 mentioned

Barcelona and Real are in their own kind of disarray and not the powers they were a year or two ago. Bayern seems to have bounced back a little from a year ago, but lets see how that goes over the season. I am not convinced yet.
City have they own dark days with a way too old squad and now getting hit with injuries as well. There is a lot of rebuilding to do for most European top clubs, except the one who shall not be named.
There are truly dark times ahead.

Ah feck it. It was supposed to be like "I 'ate losing 2-7" but I just realized it says "loosing". That's a little aggravating, shoud've stuck to the Hindi:

Surprised Glaston has gone missing again. Bayern didn't win yesterday after all.

Well he is hardly going to say anything else is he? Bit of a sad bump this
I think you’re making a massive assumption. He’s saying Inters chances are better to win the league than Tottenham. Tottenham would fair pretty well in Serie A. as for Inter in the premier league without Eriksen. Not so much

What Eriksen said is not indicative. 99.9% of modern players are mercenaries. Every next club is a childhood dream, every set of fans is the most encouraging, every move is upwards and they're there to win trophies. Until they move to pastures new. He said what he had to.

And, just to clarify, doesn't mean he was wrong. Only time will tell.

On drawing Leipzig:

We (Spurs) got lucky there ... there were several much harder draws we could have gotten. In fact, some of the group winners got tougher draws than we did.
Imagine if they had gotten a harder draw.
