Well, they’ve admitted to what they’ve been accused of. Of course they’re going to spin it.

Ed just needs to leave. This incident and all the things which have followed it, are a royal mess. No one, including Ed, comes out with any credibility.
I am no defender of Woodward but how does his house being vandalised lose him credibility?

Are there seriously people in this thread who believe this was a setup by the club/Woodward? Because in that case please never leave your apartment, we're not gonna miss you.
Nobody misses you in Denmark, pal.

The more information comes out regarding this is the more of a setup it appears to be.

I dont think Neil thought this one all the way through, he will end up being the fall guy if this is investigated seriously.

Bizarre case. Who the feck invites a journalist for something like this?
Yeah this just smells a bit, knowing what The Sun has been up to over the years.

How do you get a connection like that in the first place? Do a riotmaker call up a Sun journalist? Does he call the main-number?

If you do it you're probably a bit thick to begin with, but you'd also know you'd be tracked and traced a lot? But do you do it because you want it reported to the World to see that you're standing up to Ed? I think most would just turn up and not call a journo, risking jailtime. Bizarre case

Yes. They probably never leave their apartments anyway.

I honestly thought that ravi was joking. Apparently not.

I'm generally not a conspiracy theorist but this reeks.

United hire a Sun journalist as head of PR
>
About a week later a 'mob' (only 2 or 3 on film) attack/protest at a property Woodward owns
>
This mob had apparently tipped off the Sun beforehand (why? you can use Twitter for worldwide coverage) who proceed to not inform the police (illegal?) but film barely any of it (bad reporting)
>
The Sun release a story about Woodward's home being attacked by 20-30 men, inevitable sympathy from a wider audience for the victim, Woodward
>
The 'gonna die, gonna die' chants continue at the next game, even with a new signing
>
The story resurfaces as now 'Man Utd' want to know why The Sun didn't report it to the police (illegal if the story of a 30 man gang is true, a lot less illegal if it was 2 men with a flare). This recycling of the story gains another round of sympathy for Woodward.

Am I missing anything? All roads point to Woodward and Ashton.

Sure there's plausible deniability, yeah the fans hate Ed, sure there's enough of them angry enough to find a property he doesn't live at and protest outside it, it's also reasonable to assume that getting on the back page of the Sun was their aim and perhaps the journalist they contacted knew the family wouldn't be there so no real, nasty crime could take place.

However, a sympathy piece with hints of manufacture in the press about a villified, desperate man a week after he'd hired a PR guru? Stinks. Absolutely stinks.

Totally agree, Ed should have been there, heading the flares away like a proper man.

Given the Sun interviewed the culprits, as well as having a photographer present, I’d imagine the culprits will be brought to justice soon.

"How's the campaign to restore my image going, Neil?"
"Great, Ed - fans used to hate you, but now they hate you and think you're a criminal mastermind. And also a particularly incompetent criminal mastermind who's crap at his day-job."
"You're f*cking fired again, Neil."

False flags and psy ops... to deny that this occur would be foolish.. the classic hegelian dialect principle of problem - reaction- solution.. but the solution usually always benefits those (in power)..

With that being said, wether this being fake or not, it doesnt take away from the fact that this should not stop constructive criticism towards the board for bad decisions. What this incident does is differentiate between appropiate and inappropiate actions taken by fans. Nobody agrees that attacking any official from any club (in his personal space) equates to constructive criticism. Yes, any attack like this one should be critized by any rational fan, but at the same time, it shouldnt be an ‘emphatic’ tool being used to silence criticism. Balance is key.

Idk- don’t believe Ed set it up. Instead I wonder how many it’ll take for Ed to pull the trigger on our next signing? If Sancho (highly unlikely) Id imagine 50-75 masked men?

Wonder how Neil Ashton will spin the complaint against The Sun,, weeks after he left their employment.

But if there is one high point in all of this, it's that we can be sure Neil Custis will make an absolute tit of himself on Twitter. Between complaining about being mistreated by various airlines.

Bitter fat man.

This thread title looks really weird to me. I read it as 20-30 balaclava attacked Woodward's house. And those balaclava were wearing 'United fans'.

If you want the title to make sense, it should have a hyphen between the words 'balaclava' and 'wearing'.
