Was checking if Conor Gallagher was starting for Swansea today and spotted Wayne Routledge in the lineup!

I assume Clyne is injured again? Could easily be first choice at many prem clubs, not going to get much playing time now TAA has broken in. Would be a good pick up like Danny Ings who was in a similar position.

Rodrigo Possebon will be 31 next week. He’s played for 11 sides in the last 12 years averaging 6 appearances per season.

Amir Zaki, Hugo Rodallega, Michu, Wilson Palacios, Clint Dempsey, Peter Lovenkrands, Marco Negri.

On a side note Negri banged them in for a few seasons in Italy and then for Rangers before it all went pear shaped following him picking up an eye injury playing squash against Sergio Porrini. @Gio

Wasn’t Negri also the player who refused to celebrate goals? Used to just want a handshake

That’s just being snide. He’s on the bench injured. It’s well documented but you knew that. If you forgot about him then either you have no knowledge of the PL or just snide. Which one is it?

Merseyside constabulary once again quick to react whenever anything even a tad negative is said about Liverpool on a Manchester United forum.

It’s true though isn’t it. We all know his situation unless someone doesn’t read or watch the PL. If they do then it’s being petty.

I don't really think about it that much and I doubt many others think Shaqiris injury status. Moreover, this thread isn't really about accuracy but is based on personal memory and feelings.

I didn't know he was injured and I pretty much watch all epl games if live on tv.

So stop assuming things.

There were definite rumors about his unhappiness at a lack of game time before his injury too. It’s been a poor move for him personally. In his prime and never used in any games that matter.

How the front three so rarely miss games is phenomenal, but for Shaqiri personally, it’s been a terrible move.

Casual PL watchers already won’t remember him and most will struggle in 5 years time.

True but we are talking about now. So we could be saying the same thing about Pogba right now but that would be being petty by non united supporters.

Shaquiri isn't even injured. He just doesn't play. Same as Keita. Both anonymous entities. There's more life in the spirit of Shankly then that pair of cnuts.

No idea. Returned to the squad this summer after a half-season loan spell with Bournemouth, haven't heard of him ever since.
I think we'll offload him in the summer since Neco Williams has really stepped up and looks destined for the RB backup role. we also have Gomez there.
I wouldn't compare him to Ings though. Ings looked impressive and really lively every time he played for us, Clyne was a above average, defensively solid right back (at best) in his first couple of seasons.

Great backups. One could say they have made more of an impact than Pogs. Either way all three aren't forgotten yet.

Not sure why you keep going on about Poggie when he's in a cast up to his knee and has been for the majority of the season..

Fabio Borini. Scored for Verona against Juventus tonight.
Cancelo. The deal to bring him from Juventus is so weird considering Cuadrado being average.

All those good players who signed for Stoke and ended up getting them relegated.

Bojan for example. Others include Bruno Martins Indi, Nzonzi, Bony, Ireland, Imbula...

There's a thread about United's former connection with Royal Antwerp on here that made me remember him. He never actually went there, I wrongly thought he did, but he was with United during the right era. Just like Antwerp he's Belgian too. He was quite good on one of the old Football/Championship manager games.

He's 33 now, retired 5 years ago and is a coach at Anderlecht according to Wikipedia.

If anyone wants to contribute to this thread but is struggling for names look up Real Betis squad. Full of names you’d recognize but had no clue what happened to them including 2 must haves in William Carvalho and Nabil Fekir and the one we are all most concerned with: Sergio Canales.

Iker munain. Massively hyped and linked with big moves back in 2012-13, nothing ever materialised and still playing for Bilbao now. Still somehow only 27

Joaquin is still playing, scored a hattrick recently and has had his highest scoring season since 2002 when he missed a pen against Korea.
Ah the days when Valencia had Vicente and Joaquin.

Deadline day legend Peter Odemwingie

Eren Derdiyok, a highly rated Swiss player. Scored perhaps the best individual goal of the last twenty years for Bayer Leverkusen against Wolfsburg. Plays in Uzbekistan now.

I don't know if anyone else remembers him, but Cesar Delgado was once a highly rated player at Cruz Azul. He played in the Lyon team that reached the CL semis in 2010.
Always bought him on FM 2006.
