Didn't De gea lost captain role because saying something like this?
When did DDG get appointed first team captain?Didn't De gea lost captain role because saying something like this?
Pretty much. Didn't go into as much detail as this eitherDidn't De gea lost captain role because saying something like this?
He didn't, it was temporary. When did DDG get appointed first team captain?
Exactly. If it was Pereira or Lingard or Martial that said what Fred said most will overlook what they said and start calling out their performance on the pitch. Can't do that with Fred thoughWell done to Fred for saying this publicly. You can say that these things should be kept internal, but at least us fans now know the truth. Many seemed to be under the false impression that having Ole at least made the locker room a lot better, and now that doesn't seem to be the case. Fred is the right player to be saying this too, considering he has been our hardest working player on the pitch this season.
He was vice captain when Young was here and then he said something and Ole gave it to Maguire. When did DDG get appointed first team captain?
Neither is he Keane nor is our squad any bit comparable to the old squad. If anything, he is being honest which is refreshing.Something that he needs to say to them, and work on himself (creativity from midfield) not call people out publicly. This is what got Keane moved on after all
This isn't even close to what Keane did.Something that he needs to say to them, and work on himself (creativity from midfield) not call people out publicly. This is what got Keane moved on after all
But after that he never was captain. Even Rashford was before him. Ole doesn't like this kind of stuffHe didn't, it was temporary.
I'd like to think that he was dropped because he wasn't a very good captain or influential enough on the pitch. With that said, Ole might have a word with Fred if this blows up.But after that he never was captain. Even Rashford was before him. Ole doesn't like this kind of stuff
Would you like it if someone was "honest" about you in public, or face to face so you can get to the bottom of the issue and suggesting you can trust them?Neither is he Keane nor is our squad any bit comparable to the old squad. If anything, he is being honest which is refreshing.
Yeah, it wasn't the case. Even some journos said that Ole was pissed. If you look closer, only De gea and Maguire show emotions during the game and both are very vocal.I'd like to think that he was dropped because he wasn't a very good captain or influential enough on the pitch. With that said, Ole might have a word with Fred if this blows up.
It depends entirely on who said it, what they said publicly and what they told me previously in private.Would you like it if someone was "honest" about you in public, or face to face so you can get to the bottom of the issue and suggesting you can trust them?

Yeh and it's not surprising. It's literally impossible for there to be a good team spirit when the results have been as diabolical as they are and no one can see it getting better under current management. There's been whispers online for ages that the supposed great team spirit isn't all that at the moment, and there's a a lot disenchanted with how things are. I think we'll see a few more interviewers and stories along these lines as the season draws to a close.
This is nothing to do with Ole this is more Fred saying there’s players in the team who would rather play for themselves and try to be the glory hunter than play as a teamWell done to Fred for saying this publicly. Not really, the quotes are pretty much slap on the face for those who kept telling us Ole has changed the culture around the club and that squad is now more honest and they have more more fight in them. Turned out it was as we told them, BS narrative. This is nothing to do with Ole this is more Fred saying there’s players in the team who would rather play for themselves and try to be the glory hunter than play as a team
The manager has nothing to do with the locker room? This is nothing to do with Ole this is more Fred saying there’s players in the team who would rather play for themselves and try to be the glory hunter than play as a team
Or you could see it as proof that it takes time to change culture, and that the rot is deep. He is not the first person to have told the press that something is rotten in the locker room. However, as with most matters internal to the club, there is no way for us to know if OGS is actually making progress in this matter or not. However way you see it, if this club is ever gonna punch back, the culture is the most important thing to fix. Tactics only get you so far.Not really, the quotes are pretty much slap on the face for those who kept telling us Ole has changed the culture around the club and that squad is now more honest and they have more more fight in them. Yes, we live in the "everyone gets a medal" generation so that winning mentality has been more scarce than ever. This "throwing someone under the bus helps no one" myth have to die. Not everyone thrive in a "you did good, here's a 10th runner up medal". Most winners thrives in a cutthroat environment, many more flourish under such hardship. Many famous people got ridiculed before they prove everybody wrong.
If you're not man enough to be criticized for playing like a drunk then you don't have that winner mentality.
Critics can be good, constantly patting everyone in the back for doing a shit job is equally bad in the long run.
What is he supposed to say in public then? Throw the players under the bus? Lots of moaning but no one seems to offer any management solutions other than Ole Out.Good man Fred. One of the very few who's words hold any weight this season.
This insight won't come as a shock to anyone actually watching our matches, not just listening to the nauseating positive façade Ole tries to sell every week, but it's nice to know at least there's two people at the club willing to say it as it is, in spite of the culture of delusion surrounding them.
The whole interview gave negative vibe about the team. I'm not sure why it could be different about the manager.I'm not disregarding anything. Fred didn't say Ole makes mistakes. He said he has positives and negatives (as would most coaches), went out of his way to say he's a good coach and even said he's going to help us win titles.
It's not a glowing review like how Liverpool players would talk of Klopp, but it's not unencouraging.
The point is that Ole should have done something to improve this. According to him everything is fine and rosyI think Ole would agree with all of these points tbh.
Completely agree with you. People keep pining for leaders who are not afraid to challenge people. Well, Fred has come out and made a challenge. Those who feel aggrieved honestly should feck off. I for one applaud him for wanting to get everyone aligned on team goals. Whatever his skill set level is, his work ethic has not been questioned and he has earned the right to call some slackers out.Well done to Fred for saying this publicly.
