How’s the weather over in Sheffield and Manchester today? Are the games likely to be postponed or do you think they will be played as planned?

Weather is pretty bad here in Manchester, rain combined with 40-50mph winds. By 4:30 it should ease off so I think they could still play. A delayed kickoff of an hour could really help if the weather prediction is correct as this crazy wind should be gone and it'll be just light medium rain.

As I type though, the rain just hit the heavy stage and winds ramped up 60mph maybe. If an inspection was going on right now, probably call it off.

Could be interesting watching the Sheffield game today. It might be like buying a 99p plastic ball at Blackpool and kicking it up in the air ahead of you on the beach, only for it to go 50 metres behind you.

met office forecast is for winds to stay like this for the rest of the day and well in to Monday.

Bit weird that the City game is postponed and the Sheffield Utd game isn't. I'm not in Sheffield but the weather around where I am is horrific.

Bournemouth fans would have been travelling since early hours, probably all on route so there’s no benefit to calling it off I’d imagine if the pitch itself is deemed playable.

Hammers fans probably won’t all have left by time City game was called off.

BBC say the wind goes down to 20mph at about 5pm and is like that for the next 48 hours.

I predicted right though if inspection was being held during that spell I posted about they'd call it off. An hour later now and it's gone pretty calm,

Sheffield has these 40+mph winds going on all day and night according to BBC. It's the steel city so they're made of sterner stuff.

Let Klopp play in this. He complained before, but this is the real stuff.
Lucky bastard got a break now.

VAR, weather, schedules. Everything going their way this season.
Now they are off to some sunny beach as well.

Also by the time City play again the lead could very well be 25 points. 25 points in Feb.

Considering Sheffield is 50 kilometers away from Manchester I wouldn't be surprised if the game gets postponed in an hour or so.
Well here in south east Manchester it's gone to quite calm weather now, very little wind and light rain. Of course it could return but if Sheffield is anything like here then the game will go ahead. City inspection happened at the worst possible time.

The weather could be quite different across the pennines as the topography is quite varied.

Actually has stopped raining, occasional gust, probably ranging from 5-15mph. The main factor now is how water logged the pitch is if it's gone calm over there too.

Yeah it is already over anyway. Doesn't matter if this game is moved played in crazy weather or not.
I guess better for City to move it with less injury risk potentially in the future.

Although Liverpool seem to even have luck now when they need none.

Team news - home debut for Berge
Sheff Utd v Bournemouth (14:00 GMT)
Michael Emons
BBC Sport at Bramall Lane
The good news is it has stopped raining and it’s game on.
The team news is quite routine as Sheffield United name an unchanged side from the team that started the 1-0 win over Crystal Palace last weekend, meaning a home debut for £22m record signing Sander Berge.
David McGoldrick is on the bench after a spell out, while fellow forward Panagiotis Retsos, a transfer deadline day signing, is also on the bench.
The blades want those points.

Can our game against Chelsea be moved too please. Far into the future to the point when Ole is gone and Rashford if back.
Although that may never happen this season.

Just had hurricane like conditions a few minutes ago in the Midlands but it's settled again now.

Watching the West Brom game and the ball is blowing all over the place. It won't even stay stationary at set pieces.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe, speaking to BT Sport about the conditions at Bramall Lane: "Certainly on game day, if the pitch is very wet - which it is - you have to adapt. We are adaptable if we need to be.

"We are focusing on this game only and we want to leave it all out there on the pitch."

Seems like it's going ahead

Rain had started again on and off here in Man for last 30 mins but still very playable weather and looking bright now. Sun is out.

The rain and storm might make this game more fun than it normally would be.
Not really expecting many goals.

1-0 to Sheffield?

Fraser looking up to see if a chance develops and then goes down holding his head to try to stop play. I wish refs had a backbone and booked players for that type of cheating.
