He has played for the U18 as well so plenty has seen him. I'm sure jb knows better though.

I have not seen enough to build an understanding of how prolific he is. But he looks exciting...
Ah I see, not had much of chance to keep up with the U18s this season.

He only played about half an hour for the U18s I’m sure.

He got injured in his U18 debut sadly and has only been at the lower age groups during his recovery. Fingers crossed he will be involved next week

Seems prolific, have you seen him in action?
I've only seen some highlights & the half game he's played for the u18s, from what I've seen of him he looks relatively strong physically, very quick which is helped by having a long stride & an accurate finisher so I'd expect him to develop as a number 9 rather than on the wing where he had played a lot for Zaragoza.

As always, thanks for the information, very excited to see him in action.

That's disappointing. Very unlucky for him to be injured again. Hope he's mentally resilient.

Heard nothing about him being injured until Arthur was talking about it. Another long term injury. Poor kid, he looked really good too!

Real shame to hear the news of the injury. Thought he was going to kick on this season. Best of luck lad, you'll come back stronger!

Good luck to him. Hopefully, he can now kick on and overcome his issues with injuries.
He has almost missed 2 crucial years of his development, but there's always a chance.

What position does he play again?

Haven’t seen him kick a ball yet. Poor kid has been injured so much.

He looked a real prospect but has had rotten luck with injuries. In fact, most of our top foreign talent in recent years have had serious injuries. Mejia, Mejbri, Emeran, Kambwalla, Chong have all had serious injuries that have kept them out for 6 months to a year shortly after they came over.

The transition to the English game may be tough, but referees are famously useless at youth level.

If I remember correctly Mejia just basically went down under little or no contact. It may just be crap luck or he was overplayed in Spain when he was undergoing growing pains or growth spurts?

Does anyone know where he’s disappeared again? Was really looking forward to seeing him this season. Hopefully it’s not another injury

Sorry no, I too was really excited about him and his first game he looked really good and had something. Sadly he then got injured. I think he's still 18/19 but worried injuries have knocked him too much. He had such a great Spanish junior goal scoring record too. I do slightly worry that our top kids seem to get injured here. Willy has hardly played as well. I can't think of the other kids but it does seem like we have a few injuries with the academy. Garancho was average last year but seems to be going better this year. The jury is out on the Spanish kids at present.

Just to add to this, I think Alvaro Fernandez is developing very nicely. He's such a technically good footballer. Hopefully he continues to work on his defensive game.
From what I can gather just from twitter and the Caf, Jorado hasn't exactly set the place on fire either.

I think we had big hopes in the Spanish boys, well, maybe because they were Spanish? Do remember Alvaro and Jurado were let go from Real and Barca. Garancho had huge wraps but was poor last season and Mejia never played. Jurado has never stood out and reminded me of many solid right backs we had that left the club after a while. Alvaro could be a Danny Blind type player, lovely on the ball but defensively gets caught out.

Fernandez & Jurado weren't let go, both were offered new contracts but chose to join United instead. He was a bit inconsistent but I don't think you can say Garnacho was poor last season when he was man of the match in at least 3/4 games & scored 7 goals & had 5 assists in 10 starts & 7 sub appearances & scored a few more for the u17s.

I think he got injured by the poor tackle he got against Chelsea

Walter Crickmer started it all...
Since returning from injury last season...

U/23 Pre-season

17/7 v Queens Park Rangers - not selected
24/7 v Hibs (F) - Didn't start but may have been a sub
27/7 v Stalybridge (F) - not selected
31/7 v Hull City (F) - not selected
6/8 v Kidderminster (F) came on as a sub and played 22 mins
10/8 v Sheffield Wednesday (F) - played 45 mins

U/23 League

15/8 v Leicester - unused sub
20/8 v Chelsea - came on as a sub and played last 5 minutes

So he hasn't featured in any game in the last two months with a total of 72 mins of football.

Very sad and hopefully he will get a break and a good run of games injury free.

Garnacho was good last season, especially in the second half of the season.

Yes, looking at it, poor wasn't a great word. I think average as mentioned for quite a while and then improved at the latter part. This year looking much better as well.
