Olmo, Havertz and sancho. We could get Olmo this window for a start
Olmo is so going back to Barca. And I don’t see Bayern signing Coutinho, so Havertz will be waaay up on their agenda.

We turned down Saul for 8M a year after he made the 2012 Under 19 Euro Cup team of the tournament despite getting hurt during the tourney? I remember him, he was running around kicking people, surely we must have known he was going to at least be a rock solid #6 Nicky Butt type? I'm mad.

Hope this is just a rumour. Havertz looks like a brilliant talent

I’m fine with this. I think he’s a bit overrated personally. Perhaps I need to watch him more, but I think he’s more a second striker than midfielder, and lacks the intensity for the Liverpool team too. If they spent a lot of their budget on him I’d be fine with that.

Give him a year with Kornmayer then and that should be sorted.

I'll be gutted if this happens. He's a serious talent and it's a sign that Liverpool aren't content with having this purple patch, they're serious about establishing themselves as a force for years to come.

He's fantastic. Such an elegant mofo. Glides across the pitch like a young Kaka. I'd definitely prefer if Liverpool didn't get him, but it would be good to see him in the PL.

This is a good thing tbh. Let them blow their money on Havertz, then we go for Sancho.

Havertz is good but I don't see anything world class in him IMO.

I think any Saul deal has always been complicated by the fact that a third party owns his marketing rights? (And have since 2011 I believe https://www.marca.com/en/football/spanish-football/2016/04/21/57189cdc468aeb5f208b4625.html )
Not to say a deal couldn't be done but it might not be straightforward and probably wouldn't have been back in 2012 either

Crazy money for him - albeit he's a massive talent. The going rate?
The Liverpool offer was in the munich news and elswhere 3 days earlier, Jan Aage needs to upgrade his internet
The asking sum of 125-130 Mio has been around as well.

Think Bayern are still in pole to sign him, their whole team building strategy is more or less shaped around the expected big spending coming summer window with Sane and Havertz prime targets.

I would take Zaniolo over him personally. I know he's injured but imo he has similar potential and would likely cost considerably less.

It seems like the going rate if Liverpool hope to beat Bayern for his signature.

Yeah, Bayern seem clear favorites. I can’t see Liverpool blowing their budget on an attacker unless he will play AM (adding creativity but possibly causing an imbalance) or they plan on selling Salah/Mane.

Liverpool spending that much on him means they wouldn’t be buying Sancho and I think we NEED Sancho far more then Havertz, not seen lots of him if I’m honest but from what I have seen I’d prefer us to sign Sancho and Grealish.

Agreed. Sancho, Grealish & either a DM or backup striker and I think we would be back in the running for the title.

People need to face reality with Liverpool now. They've finally got their house in order. They will be competing for major honours for a while now and probably winning a good few too.

No second striker, the intensity part may be right though. However, he's got a similar body language to Özil and thus his work rate is severely underrated.

Would love it if he goes to Liverpool. Great coach and definitely better than seeing him. In a Bayern shirt.

Not sure we’d be back in the title hunt with Ole as manager but I think a starting 11 of De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Williams, Fernandes, new defensive midfielder, Grealish, Sancho, Martial, Rashford is definitely a consistent Champions League team.

Think to be in the title hunt we’d need a pacey yet quality partner for Maguire at the back as Lindelof isn’t the answer long term in my opinion and a quality central striker that’s consistent and regularly scores 25 goals a season as Martial is so hit and miss, seeing how Haaland has hit the ground running at Dortmund makes me wish we’d signed him.

Liverpool will get him and Chelsea will get Sancho

Then City will get unbanned and sign Grealish, Haaland and all our other muppet targets

Then Ed will bullshit us and say we’re spending big in summer and then only get Sean Longstaff for 77 million

Agreed on Lindelof, he's about as cowardly defender as I've seen at United. Bailly for all of his faults showed against Chelsea what's needed in there next to Maguire, if he can stay fit and kick on I think he'd be a pretty great answer to that problem. Of course, chances are injuries will make that impossible.

Solskjaer too might not be a good enough manager to take us to the top but I like what he's doing with regards to squad building, so that's a tricky one really. As ridiculous as it sounded at first, maybe a DOF role wouldn't be the worst idea if he keeps it up but proves to be a sub standard coach. Who knows.

And maybe Greenwood could be the answer to the Martial issue in a year or twos time? His talent is beyond question I think, and he seems to have a pretty good mentality. We've got enough holes in the squad to fill over the next 3 or 4 windows to give him some time to develop, in which time maybe Martial could even find some consistency?

Lots of questions still to be answered, but I like the way the squad is shaping up for the first time in a long long time, so that's a bit of a silver lining.

Agree pretty much on all fronts as I’ve said many times before that Ole is great at knowing the types of player and character that we need at United but simply not good enough himself to coach them, this is why I think he’d be perfect for the role of Sporting Director/Director Of Football and then get Pocchettino in as head coach/manager.

If Bailly can stay fit for a sustained period of time and finds at least decent form then I’m fine with him staying as he’s quick and aggressive so could be a great partner for Maguire although I think long term Tuanzebe is the best option with Bailly, Lindelof and Smalling as back up then getting rid of Jones and Rojo permanently.

I think Greenwood will be our long term central striker and if we get Sancho in then I think we’ll see Greenwood play through the middle more, maybe Greenwood playing through the middle and being given a chance will give Martial the kick up the arse he seems to always need to perform and if not then move Martial on then sign someone who is a proper number 9 to alternate with Greenwood.

Would he be part of our midfield three or rather compete with Salah and Mane for a spot on the wings? We don't really play with a true €10 or creative attacking midfielder most of the times, so I'd be interested to hear your opinion. What players can he be compared to in terms of ability, speed, vision etc.?

€125m is a lot of money, but if he realizes anywhere close to his potential, he'd have resale value of at least €80m or so and I'd imagine his wages would be considerably less than Sancho's too.

He's like a modern version of Özil. People like to call him a 10 but I woudln't agree on that. He was best for us as an 8 besides Brandt but has played as a holding midfielder, too. The notion that he's playing RW primarily comes from a system change of Bosz last season that the media didn't quite get. We played with two wingbacks, three centerbacks and 4 CMs (two CDMs and two CM/CAM hybrids) but usually were listed in a 4-3-3 in the reports/live coverage with Havertz on the right.

So he would be playing as a CM, I'd say. Klopp has had quite a few players of his type in Dortmund, I'd say Götze was the closest. His scorers are tge thing that obviously stamds out the most but if you actually watch our games you realize that his overall contribution is what really makes him such a talent.

Not completely sure how he'd flourish in a Klopp system since he's actually a typical player for a Guardiola like approach but it would definitely be worth a try.

As someone already said, not only his looks and his body are quite comparable to Kaka but also his playing style.

Think of Kaka with worse dribbling skills and slightly worse passing.
The last point is where I have to to disagree with @Zehner and his "a modern type of Özil" statement.
As much as I don't like Özil, I still think that his passing and vision are absolutely incredible. And in my eyes Havertz is only "good" in this regard.

He's a big talent obviously, but for me he is bit overrated.
But this may also be due to the fact that i dislike most players with a body language and attitude like him.

I think Liverpool could spend that money way better.

He's definitely not worth over £100m put it that way.

Maybe in the future if he forfills his potential, but I don't forsee him being in the top 10 attackers in the world.

Werner and Havertz to Liverpool will incredibly make them stronger thanks to Klopp's charisma and Havertz looks like a generation talent.
Not sure if we are in a situation to bring in these kind of players to us at this moment.
If they both go to pool then I must say things are going pretty well for them at this moment.

Our Ole couldn't convince his fellow country man Halaand but it seems Klopp can bring in players from Germany.

Thanks both.

I think Klopp is probably a good manager to get the best out of him or take him to the next level. It also helps for youngsters to come into a team with a clear plan and strategy which is well-organized and well-functioning so might make it easier to look good once he gets up to speed.

Well at least amongst most Bayern fans. The media reported that Bayern is not willing to spend the 130 millions that Leverkusen demands and the vast majority of Bayern fans is absolutely okay with this.

What is also worth mentioning is, that Havertz last season was way better than this season.
This also shows in the plain statistics:
This season: 27 games (all competitions), 6 goals, 2 assists
Last season (as an 19 years old): 42 games, 20 goals, 7 assists.

To be honest after last season I hyped him a lot more. Young players obviously aren't as consistent as most older ones. But Leverkusen is and always was a team that is focused on attacking, he has a coach that is focused on attacking and he has the right team mates to shine....yet this season, and especially the first half was very underwhelming.

Interesting. Sounds like second season syndrome, teams nullifying him, him plateauing or all 3

This is his fourth season, the first season he had 4 goals and 6 assists in 24 appearances, most of which came after Hakan got banned for the second half of the season. It was in his third season, last season, that he really took off.

So a bit of plateauing really?
