I think we'll miss out on a chance to get him as Ed Woodward will give Ole time just because he seems to be a yes man. I love Ole, just as all of us do but he's not cut out to be manager of Manchester Utd, whereas this guy seems to tick every single box.

If we could implement a system that involved this guy as our manager and Ralf Rangnick as DOF then we could get back to where we want to be. Give a job to Paul Mitchell in some capacity too.
I'm not sure if I follow. Rose joined Gladbach this summer, so he is going nowhere until at least summer 2020 and even then it's unlikely that he will go anywhere. Do you think that Ole is going to stay at United 8 to 20 months while failing?

If Rose and Marić are genuine targets for the club as Head Coach and Assistant, we might want to explore the option of offering Rangnick the interim manager job (extending to all branches of football at United) by the new year instead of aimlessly persisting with the current organisation till the end of the season. If he's willing to leave Red Bull to assume that position it will give him the chance (as well the time) to meticulously analyze the players and our setup from close quarters so that he can enforce necessary changes in the summer with a degree of confidence as he transitions to a Director of Football role for the coming years.

Basically the same-ish gig he had at Leipzig before the appointment of Hasenhüttl in 2016 or Nagelsmann in 2019. Another benefit is that he might give United a greater insight into forwards like Werner from Leipzig or Håland/Hee-Chan from Salzburg if we're interested in them for a 4-3-1-2 based model. All things considering Rose-Rangnick-Marić (and maybe Helmut Groß as consultant) would be a complementary and fairly robust trio to re-calibrate the club when you look at Rangnick's vast experience as a rigorous coach/administrator and the commonalities in their respective approaches — with should, at least theoretically, reduce the chances of internal discord given they view football with a compatible set of lenses...
You must be expressing this desire for another club. Never Man United. My club do not ever think this sensibly. Give it up bro or you are in for a big, big disappointment

Funnily enough, even though someone like Rose is considered progressive and modern and a breath of fresh air, there are times where both Salzburg and now Mönchengladbach look like a Lobanovskyi team from decades ago...the old adage that the more football changes the more it remains the same wrt. recycled or modified mechanics/approach rings true (though maybe I'm mistaken, you'll need @harms or @Demyanenko_square_jaw to refute/corroborate the claim if they have has seen Rose's teams in action)!

Anyway, while the likes of Rose and Ten Hag are no doubt great options, the market could become pretty competitive pretty quick if Barcelona relieve Valverde of his duties in the coming weeks and months — on top of Bayern sacking Kovač. Culturally, Ten Hag seems to be a positive fit for Barcelona...ditto Rose for Bayern considering he has spent the entirety of his playing/managing career in Germany or Austria (unless he and Bayern's decision-makers don't see eye to eye on a personal level), and we will have to be uncharacteristically proactive to land one of them.
I don't think it makes sense to define "culture" based on language or nationality. Barca and Bayern for example want to play very similar kind of football. Alongside Klopp, Guardiola is the main role model for coaches in Germany.
And since Rose is much more on the Klopp side of the spectrum I don't think he's a particularly logical candidate for Bayern.

I think Ole will be here next season, as will the Glazers and Ed Woodward still in the same out of his depth role as he is now. I think he'll be given another summer window and then we'll see where we are around December 2020. I don't want that to be the case as I don't think he has what it takes.

Also, why couldn't Marco Rose be tempted to go somewhere before the end of this season?

I think that like every other manager Ole will be sacked if our results don't improve. As for why Rose wouldn't leave, simply because it's very rare to see managers decide to not finish their first season in a club for any other reason than health or bad results.

I can't see it myself but if results don't improve then I hope you're right. Yeh that's fair enough I suppose.

Agreed.

I think we could see a similar situation to Rogers and Celtic. If United approached Rose, he could see it as an opportunity too huge to turn down.

Nothing to suggest Solskjær will be at United if he doesn't improve the team.

yes, great, this is what we need, a young talented progressive coach with big potential. him, nagelsmann or poch, I would be happy. we haven't tried a manager like that.
director of football too of course.

Excellent choice as a manager for us. We need someone who can instill an exciting style of play, and also work and improve the players we currently have. Never thought I would say this, but Brendan Rogers would be my first choice.

1) Rogers
2) Erick Ten Hag
3) Marco Rose
4) Gareth Southgate (yea, never thought I would want him either, but he has proved me wrong)

I remember last year I replied to someone saying he's not proved anything that suggests he would be up for the job, actually I think it was to you Adnan. So far he's done really well at Gladbach. If he keeps this up for the remainder of the season I'd say he should be a candidate at least.
There were many fans who questioned me regards the credentials of the Coach managing in Austria at the time. And I understand why fans like yourself would be weary.

But from my perspective I wanted us to go in a direction where we identify someone before they become sought after. And the two chaps who stood out like a sore thumb were Rose at RB Salzburg and Gallardo at River Plate in Argentina, who I suspect will be the Barca Head Coach before long.

Tbf it is only first week on November. Lots of wierd teams can be top this early. If he wins it or puts up very strong challenge it is a proper achievement. Otherwise, Granada were top in Spain last week
It's the best start to a season Gladbach have made in 50 years.

I'm liking Rose more and more this season, watching his Gladbach side play. Like quite a few people have opined, there's an obvious path staring United in the face... Rangnick as DoF and Rose as manager (or even Ten Hag or Nagelsman, all being of the same school). Could easily revolutionise us for the next decade if it goes well. But the depths of our current mismanagement means few, if any, believe we would do something so obviously progressive. Sad...

Is this you proving that they weren't top a week ago like I said?
Rose is being discussed because of his acumen as a potentially outstanding coach on a technical level. He excelled as the youth coach of RB Salzburg and won the UEFA Youth league. He was then given the first team role at the same club and was excellent in implementing his style of play which brought him admiration/accolades from many. He took the Gladbach job and there was expection from media and fans alike in Germany due to the reputation he had built up at RB Salzburg domestically and in Europe. It's the way he coaches his teams and play style that has brought him to peoples attention. And currently he's top of the Bundesliga with unfancied Gladbach and he has quite clearly had a significant impact on the way the team plays in such a short space of time which adds to his growing reputation from before he joined the club.

Below is what Jurgen Klopp said about Rose before he got the Gladbach job.

"I trust Marco in everything,” he said. “Marco can have any job and could do any job too, he is really the most hyped (coach) of all at the moment. Everyone is asking about you"

I’d imagine Rose is in contention to take over from Klopp in the next two or three years, it would be an easy deal for Liverpool to do and also very logical.

if United want to take him next summer then I think they’d need to show him that the club was set up properly, I don’t think it will cut it to just assume he’ll come because United or bigger than Moenchengladbach.

What’s the best way to get organised quickly? Get a proper DOF in and stop all this nonsense about a ‘collegiate system’. There needs to be one man overseeing football before United can be properly set up.

I think Rose would be a fantastic appointment, as would Nagelsmann.

You know it’s not as if Liverpool’s finances or organisation is spectacularly set up (like City’s) and there is no guarantee where they will be in 2-3 years. I can’t really see any good reason for a manager just itching to take that job.

We have a lot of young, good players, today. I don’t think it’s that unappealing for a young, up-and-coming, manager.

Forget about Rose. I want Red Bull to buy over. Everything they touch seems to turn to Gold.

Oh I don't know, fighting for a title in Germany maybe has something to do with it.

if Ed decides he's improving the team he'll stay. There's nothing to suggest he will be sacked for now.

His team have come from a goal down to defeat Bayern 2-1 to remain top of the Bundesliga. He only took charge of the team in the summer and has worked wonders thus far at unfancied Gladbach.

Seven minutes of good football from Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2019/20. Marco Rose (+ René Marić, who is an essential member of the coaching staff) haven't even been at the club for a full season yet.

I would love to see us get him at the end of the season. Him or Nagelsmann, would be great but I can't see Nagelsmann, leaving RBL after only one season. But I can see us tempt Rose from Gladbach after a season.

Can you imagine giving him the £150m that was given to Ole, in the summer? I don't think we'd be seeing comments like "our squad isn't good enough for top 8" if we did.

This is essentially what people fail to realise when assessing Ole.

Some of those passes in that video were played on the fact that they knew their teammate would be there, continuing their run, while here you can tell we're not coached to a level where our players are willing to play those balls because they dont have any faith of a teammate being where they're expected.

That, in essence it's the difference between Ole and a coach that should be in charge here, we need to get someone like Rose or Nagelsmann and the correct set up around them so they can flourish.

Pretty much, but some would rather wait until we have 11 world class players to assess Ole properly. And another 3 years
