I can't quite see what these other clubs are after in Chong. I don't think we'll miss him at all. Doesn't seem to have the makings of a top player at all. If he decides to move on, I wish him well.

If another club want to pay him what he thinks he is worth than good luck to him.
If he wants to take what Utd think he is worth and then go on loan to a Championship club and show he has what it takes then yet again I say good luck to him.

I could see him back in the Eredivisie at a mid table club fading into obscurity for everything but his hair.

If other big clubs want him, let them. Greenwood is better, and we probably have other attackers in the u23s who are better anyway.

He reminds me a lot of Gyliano Van Velzen - got some skills, and decent technique, but he's just too tall and gangling to cut it at the top level.

Van Velzen incidentally has recently signed for Crawley Town having spent the last few years in mediocre Eredivisie sides. It wouldn't suprise me if Chong's career had a similar trajectory because he simply lacks the strength and presence to be a player at this level. He'll still do alright for himself, mind.

Reminds me of Lingard, runs around a lot, does not do much and gets shoved off the ball easily. Wouldn't be sad to see him go, wish him the best of luck though.

Is he going to be here next season?

H got picked over Lingard & Pereira on the bench today.

God I remember being excited for him back in 2010 was it? He’s actually just gone on loan to Aldershot in the National League. What a fall.

Probably the most unimpressive youth attacker to get this few games for at least a decade. Don't get it at all. We lack pace and direct runners but he doesn't have enough all round to justify a place on the bench.

He was unlucky not to score, won a decent free kick in our half.
Nothing to really complain about during the short time he was on.

His agent is going everywhere to find him a new club but he keeps getting games and never is good, very confusing by OGS.

Looked decent today in his short cameo

Thought he was ok when he came on. Still don’t think he’s good enough to step up compared to the likes of Greenwood & Williams but he was alright when he came on.

I’d like to see Gomes get a chance.

Chong could score a hat trick and you’d be here spouting bullshit about how he was this or that.

I'm not his biggest fan but you can't fault his effort today. He nearly scored with his effort so you can't ask for much more.

I would sell him this summer though as Dan James can occupy his spot. I feel that we will go out and buy a RW.

I just don't see it with this guy. Great effort from him every time he plays he is just nowhere near good enough to be a man united player. He can have a decent career in the Championship or the dutch league though. Needs to go this summer.

His main position is on the right and even then Greenwood is far better there despite that not being his main position and being younger.

Should try renew and loan him out next season but not the end of the world if he leaves for free.

He hasn't played in forever so a bit harsh to judge him on his cameo. Could've done better to link up with Ighalo, but they probably only just met days ago.

I wouldn't sell, especially not yet as different players/individuals develop at a different rates.

I maintain there's a very good player in Chong, though, but I think a loan and consistent first team appearances would do him the world of good.

Because I have some strange agenda against an irrelevant United youth player? What a strange position to take.

Contract expires in summer. He wont resign for us, only to be loaned out.

He's not good enough for us right now, so he'll leave on a free and perhaps he'll develop later for another club, a la Lukaku or DeBryne post Chelsea.

In all honesty, he's hardly put a foot wrong in his last few outings.

He’s a kid who has barely played 10 times for the first team. Not everyone is Mason Greenwood, yet Chong is one of our best talents. Branding him one of the most unimpressive young attackers I can’t take that seriously. We are a club that gave Jesse Lingard 200 or maybe you didn’t see him playing for the first team?

Agree. For barely any meaningful minutes, he did decently and even though nothing special, at least he makes basic mistakes less often compared to previous games earlier in the season.

I would want him to stay and,if he does, he needs a loan move but where is the big question. He needs first team appearances, earned granted, in a competitive league.

Since his shocking miss against Astana, he's been fine. AZ Alkmaar sub, Wolves FA Cup, Tranmere sub, Watford sub.

Unfortunately, he trashed his own season by offering so little in attack in his starts against Astana and Rochdale in September. After that, Solskjaer didn't trust him.

Chong needed to establish himself, if not ahead of Dan James, then certainly as a realistic option who could contribute goals and assists, this season. Instead, we will be looking to buy attacking players in the summer.

With more strength and some confidence, he might be a decent player. Or he might not. I've really got no idea how he will develop.

Got an assist with a nicely weighted pass for Fred's goal. His shot narrowly wide late on was a decent attempt. One reasonable cross that got cut-out. The rest wasn't so impressive. Lack of strength again an issue.

looked tidy and quite a talent tonight.

Wont blossom to top team quality til 21 or 22. He has a future with us if he's prepared to play the long game.
