As a football fan, I hate diving because it is cheating.
But it is endemic, unfortunately.

And to believe that Manchester United players don't do it is naive.

Martial falls over if anyone looks at him. Rashford is not immune from diving as well.
Luke Young was one of the worst.
I am not saying United players don't do it occasionally, they do. United players aren't as bad nowadays, and not at all today, they got the shit kicked out of them in fact. But if i see someone every 5 minutes on the ground with a slight contact and taking advantage of a shit ref for the whole 90 minutes, it goes on my nerves. Supposed 'hard' man and physical guys, that can't take it from defenders but give back or hit out at every opportunity. Complete ruins the flow and the fun with boys like him. That is what he is, and then smiling around and looking at the ref for every time he touches the ground. It was so obvious today, even if he has some talent.

Good striker, but good isnt good enough for United. Can he do it more than that? I am not sure.

A goal every 143 minutes in the league, compared to a goal every 180 minutes for Martial.

In terms of effectiveness, I think DCL and Martial are about equal, with DCL obviously edging it if we're only looking at this season. But Martial comes up with cooler skills which makes United fans think there's a higher ceiling that he's shown thus far. I'm not convinced he does, but do think he's worth sticking with for the time being.

I do like DCL as well, though.

He's in a rich vein of form but that's all been since Everton switched to 4-4-2. Don't think we'd get the same output the way we play.

He is very hard working and quick, he's a thorn in the backside of anybody just due to work rate.

Handful, should go to the euros before dross like Callum Wilson.
Yeah whether he leaves Everton or not in the next couple of years he should definitely be in the England squad for the summer because think he offers something different to our other strikers. Personally I think it will come down to him and Ings for that spot in the squad if Kane/Marcus is unable to prove their fitness in time for the tournament.

He will be my 2nd choice after Werner if we intend to bring in a striker, he is definitely better than Dembele and other available strikers.

You have to bear in mind his manager is Italian and when it comes to diving they are the experts.

It feels like he has scored in every game this season for Everton. (Except vs Liverpool).

He's been amazing for 3 months now. Before this season all he needed to add to his game was goals. Last year he was a handful for defenders but he just couldn't score. This year he should probably be on around 25 goals instead of 15 as he's missed quite a few easy ones so there is still room for improvement but the switch to playing with Richarlison as a CF has been amazing for him. He now has a player to make runs off his movement and touches but also someone that will do the same for him. His first touch is fantastic too, there were several moments yesterday during the game where the ball was hoofed up to him and was using his touch to knock it past the defender first time. There aren't many good target men in the league at the moment and here we have one who can actually play football aswell as hold it up. Deserves an England callup.

Not a fan. I don’t watch a lot of Everton games, but I find him awkward and not particularly threatening (yes, I know he scored yesterday).

I would put him in a Harry Kane level of awkwardness with Alan Smith ability and work rate. He also dives too much. I’m not a great hater of diving (it’s always been part of the game) but my problem with DCL’s diving is that he does it unnecessarily and too obviously.

He's scored much more than I thought he would this season, but I still don't really rate him anywhere near a top tier talent. Maybe he goes on and develops and proves me wrong (players develop at different rates, after all).

Going through a nice rich vein of form. But yeah, I'd think he'd need to be proving it for a while longer before people should be clamoring for his signature.

I've been watching Calvert-Lewin for years in the England youth teams and he's always been underappreciated. He's got a lot of good attributes. He's strong, good in the air, quick and he causes defenders problems. His technical ability and finishing isn't top level but he's improving all the time. He will end up being a really good pro throughout his 20s. Another James Milner.

He's a good player and certainly would be a good squad option, however not for the price Everton would quote. They massively overprice their own players.

Good performance today. Great in the air, good hold up play and have that predatory instinct in front of goal. Once we shift igahlo out, I wouldn’t mind seeing him here in a United shirt

Why would he come to United as a backup. Everton play to his strengths and we just don't.

Should've signed him last year when we were looking at Haaland.

50-60m to play approx 50% of our 60 games a season. He would've been the target man with an aerial presence we've been looking for before and since Ibrahimovich.

Of course we'll wait for him to become a bona-fide star and then cry when the club doesn't sell him to us for peanuts.

Happy for him he got a hat-trick today. The way Everton are going they might give Liverpool a run for their money in the derbies this season. Hell they might even nick a draw.

Because United is a bigger club than Everton and he has more chance to win trophies here. DCL is a typical no.9. He provides an alternative to martial who is more a dynamic no.9. If we can’t be tactical flexible enough to have a no.9 like dcl in our team, then our coaches don’t have a clue what they are doing.

I’d fancy them to win the league before they beat Liverpool in a game of football.

Oh right so were you calling for him to be signed last year? There would have been an uproar if we’d dropped 50m+ on him ffs

Not from people that can see talent. He's one of the worlds most mobile centre forwards. Played well in the Premier League and has pretty much every attribute needed to be a top centre forward. Don't see where you're coming from tbh.

Under a tree.
Sheffield United must be spitting blood, seeing how DCL has developed, he's exactly the type of player they need.

Need to see a little bit more of him to see if he'll be this year's Danny Ings, or has benefitted from playing a dreadful defence down to 10 for half a game.

Hes from Sheffield. Doesnt sound scouse at all
I didn't know the Sheffield part, but he definitely sounds scouse to me.
But then I'm southern, so a lot of those northern accents sound similar ;)

He's had a tremendous start to the season. One thing I was really impressed with last season was his overall play. If he starts scoring consistently like he's been doing so far, he's going to be a super player.
