Vinicius was incredible in the final half-hour tonight. He is electrifying in everything he does, even if it doesn’t quite come off every time. Super player.
Yeah big future ahead for him. Top close dribbler are a rare bread these days but top teams need them.

Barca in the second half really lacked anyone that could go wide and dribble at Real. I've no idea why they signed Greizmann, what they really need is a wide forward that can dribble. Someone like Sancho would be ideal for them since they need a LW

Haven't watched much La Liga this season. What's been the verdict so far on Griezmann's Barca career?
Haven't seen too much either but I don't think he fits them tactically when I have. Especially now without a striker. He works super fecking hard though I'll give him that. They attack like a team of individuals relying on Messi putting one on a plate for them in general. He looks like he doesn't quite know where he belongs so runs around a lot. I'm sure he's been decent just not great.

yeah love the energy he brings. One minute he is sprinting to get to a Toni Kroos pass, and a minute later he is back on his box defending with full energy.

Even if it doesnt works out all the time for him, he gets in defenders head. Makes them worried and keep them on their toes, getting them tired both mentally and physically.

Great match with very good individual performances, including ups and downs.
Semedo, Piqué, Carvajal, Valverde,Marcelo,Isco...and Vini unleashed at the end.
Very happy for him.He needed a game like this.

I hope he gains confidence and improves what he does worse. If he does so, he can be a player to be talked about in years come.

Thanks for that. Thought when they signed him it looked like it could be a case of square peg, round hole.

We had the same kind of player at PSG with Lucas Moura (even if Vinicius is a bit more talented). We thought he would improve his decision making abilities. He never did. Year after year, the same bad choices, the same poor passes when it mattered...
I'm not saying it's what will happen to Vinicius but it's a possibility.

Only caught the highlights and Madrid looked great. They lack players, particularly forwards, in the prime of their careers but appeared to really boss that game especially the second half. They looked energetic and dynamic compared to the lethargic and ponderous Barcelona. Not sure if that reflects the events of the full game.

That’s fair. Barca looked good in the first half but it was all Madrid in the second.

I like Valverde a lot. Trying to think of a player comparison for him from other days.

What a change of scenery can do...

Last season, I thought RDT looked quite impressive for Rayo and thought Benfica had a steal. Turns out they hadn't as he completely flopped and looked like his season at Rayo was an anomaly. However, since returning to Spain, he's been brilliant.

I guess Raul's just aren't meant for Benfica

I've liked him since his season in the Segunda for Rayo.

THought he might've got a chance at Real Madrid at some stage given he's better to me than likes of Jese and Mariano, perhaps they'll buy him back at some stage.

I wonder if he might get a late Spain call up for euro 2020 although Paco Alcacer more likely given he's back with Villareal now.

We're waiting for you Bilbao....;) Can see them grinding out a 0-0/1-1 at Granada tonight. Confident @DomesticTadpole ?

Great article on Isak.

Amazing La Real got him and Odegaard for less than 10m. Shows how much prem clubs get their pants pulled down on deals sometimes with the fees paid.
I hope they get there as I think it has actually distracted them. It will be a great spectacle if they can get through. They create loads of chances, can they get them on target, can they f*ck.

It is ridiculous how English clubs can get themselves ripped off so much. Maybe the bragging about the PL is biting back hard.

Great second leg.

Bilbao had a good amount of chances in first half on breakaways. Awful finish by Raul Garcia and Williams all round game wasn't great. Granada played an outstanding second half, really should've got through but Yuri charged through and squeezed the shot in.

Looking forward to the final. Would make La Real favourites but Bilbao will still be tough.

Luuk de Jong is an inverted flattrack bully. Cant do it against Eibar, but against Real and Atletico he's fine.

Very even second half in Barcelona. Both teams relatively easy produce half-open chances, without being really dangerous.

Sociedad deserve a point from this but I’ll take the penalty

the only way Barca could score today. Sociedad punished for missing those chances.

Don't see how the ref could ever give that as a pen. Completely unintentional and only caused by the defender trying to protect his head.

Hate seeing penalties given for that but we see plenty of those given throughout the season in europe.

La Real messed up a few good counter attacks. Overall very tight game that could''ve easily ended 0-0.

BTW just seen another replay, surely Barca player was offside when FK was put in, got the cross in for the handball.
