A lot of people going on how he wont fit into our starting 11....

Its quite simple really - we have fullbacks that cant attack - so save them the bother and stay back - instead we bang a load of creativity in midfield and absolute ballers upfront.
If all goes how i hope it will do this summer we will be lining up

DDG
AWB Lindelof Maguire Shaw
Bruno Neves Grealish
Sancho Martial Rashford

All of a sudden we maybe don't need to be so pragmatic and we can let teams worry about us and our strengths for the first time in a long time.

Before people say we have no ball winners in that team..... The workrate of that middle 3 is easily forgot due to their excellence on the ball.

This is Aston Villa's squad listed by goals:

The reason he plays as an attacker is because nobody else in the squad is worth a shit when it comes to goals and assists.

He's on the left because he's not a centreforward.

He's there by default, not because it's his best position.

We all love United
Grealish is coming here to play regularly in the first team if we buy him. He ain’t leaving his boyhood club to play a rotation role here. Not sure if we can find a permanent place for him unless Pogba goes. And then there is potentially Sancho

Martial operates best on the left. Dunno where Grealish would fit in. Not sure if he’s as creative as Maddison but it all hinges on Pogba. Personally, I feel Pogba has disrespected the club and fans too often and should go. Test him by offering him a four year deal to be signed before the end of the season. If he does, then play him. If he doesn’t, cash in. He may think again now Bruno is on the scene so Pogba stays Grealish won’t come.

Gerrard's most productive season was as a right-winger.

Modric was also a left-winger in his first season in the PL. Until Harry Redknapp turned him back into a midfielder.
This makes sense. I also believe if he comes here, he will probably play the role Pogba played, in the 4-2-3-1 earlier in the season.

I think just like Modric he needs to transition into a #8 who can dictate play from deep. He has all the attributes.

---McTominay---Grealish
-Sancho----Bruno----Rashford
----------------Martial

Woah.

When quality is available and wants to join your team, you need to make it work.
I totally disagree with that. We’ve tried with limited success to fit a square peg, we can’t again. We need players to fit the system we ate trying to implement

Not disputing that as I don't follow liverpool closely enough to be exact, but for me as an outsider looking in at them I thought his best season was just off Torres, when he played almost as a second striker

I would think Utd have an idea of how that he would fit into the system we are trying to implement. The signs are we starting to look a little more organised in that aspect of things.

Probably the same geniouses that said that about Bruno.
And what is that about already having too many midfielders? We are one injury away from having Lingeira in our first 11 again for Christ's sake.

Lots of these line-ups with Grealish seem to sacrifice Fred who has been arguably our best player this season.

My midfield for next season would be

Partey

Fred Pogba/Grealish

Bruno

Then Sancho on the right Martial left and a striker new one or Raahford

Have you watched us this season?

So you'll put Rashford either up top or on the bench even though he's been one of the best left-sided wingers/forwards in the league up until his injury. You'll put Martial on the left even though Ole has played him as a striker in nearly all his games?

That's before we even get into you wanting us playing three players at the back without wing-backs

Odegaard makes more sense than Grealish IMO. Madrid probably won't sell him, but if Pogba wants out and Zidane is still at the helm, then there could be a possibility of us signing him.

If only he had a relegation release fee. Villa destroyed their own chances of survival in the last window and have plummeted since. £50 million from Grealish could have bought them a team that can stay in the division

I think the McGinn injury really fecked them up - although would’ve still been in a relegation battle.

Bit harsh. They lost quite a few players to serious injuries. You can’t just replace them on the whim.

Thats why they obviously needed investment. One player alone wasnt going to keep them up, 3 with the money from 1 player could have

Yeah and what happens if they go down after signing the 3 players? They have the 3 other players returning from injury too. They can’t take risks like that.

I doubt they will spend much of the Grealish money if they get relegated.

These are Villa´s next matches, so good luck to them avoiding relegation:

Chelsea (h)
Newcastle (a)
Wolverhampton (h)
Liverpool (a)
Manchester United (h)

Then they tried, they got max money for their prize player and a team more likely to be promoted straight back up. There are no negatives

The journo is James Nursey who is among the most reliable for the Midlands clubs.

How do you fit Grealish in Solskjaer's 4-2-3-1? In the 2 or the centre of the 3 where Fernandes plays?

Yeah I'm not sure I like the idea of Fred being pushed out of the 11, he's earned his place in the team and we should make our next midfield signing to complement him and Bruno. These two with a DLP type would be a well balanced midfield.

But hey, Grealish is new flavour of the month so let's get him instead.

I think Grealish fits into this squad fine.
At the end of the day, we're still 5th with a bad points total... We've seen what Bruno has brought to the side, so adding quality works.

In games were we need to create chances against sides that sit back, we need more going forward...
Fred
Grealish - Bruno
In games were we need to suppress attacks and hit on the counter
Fred - McTominay
Bruno
Rotation also plays a part in keeping people fresh and fit.
That being said, I'd still like a DM

Every player has relegation clause in their contract, Every top football stars, Pogba included.

It's long list of clauses, and relegation clauses usually at the back of the pages.

Interesting. Is it likely to be a reasonable number or just there for the sake of it?

Exactly what I've been saying.

Once he plays for a team in which the attackers actually contribute in, he'll be back centrally. Just like last season where he was excellent.
