Maureen looking for his next payoff going by his demeanor. I still cannot believe Levy appointed this guy. He has been found out and is no longer a top manager worth his past reputation.

Been funny to see how quickly the optimism we saw from Spurs fans when he first got hired, dissipate in record time as they've come to the realization that they're getting the same bitter, excuse filled and uninspiring Jose that United and Chelsea (the 2nd time) got

Sometimes I have sympathy for what his career is becoming...than I remember what a absolute prick he is and feel so much better.

Hope Levy wrote some clauses in that contract.

CL finalists last season but they now have a 'awful unbalanced squad '

Any good man-manager could get this Spurs team, even with the injuries,to be performing at a far more cohesive level than the rubbish Jose is serving up.
Long may it continue.

I believe it was cautious optimism for most of them with a few noticeable exceptions but who knows... maybe i'm wrong.

That tweet got my attention. When Mourinho was announced, i wrote on this forum that he and Levy are a bad match for each other. Levy chose to appoint Mourinho (and make him the second-highest earner behind Pep) because he believes that this Spurs side can still push for silverware with a few additions. So, he appoints a "serial winner" to win trophies and, by doing that, keep the key players like Kane happy at the club. What he chose to overlook is that one of the main things that made Spurs successful under Pochettino was the Argentinian's versatility and his ability to find answers within the squad by adapting his tactical plans to the available players and not vice versa. Mourinho walked into a side that had become successful (by Spurs' standards) not because of the sheer quality of its players but because of its physicality, its high energy levels and its ability to press. And Poch's pressing wasn't about hitting in transition as much as it was about regaining possession and establishing control. The two things Spurs were great at under Poch were: a) putting tremendous pressure on the first attacker to regain possession and b) good positional plays that created passing angles and made the most of the attackers/midfielders' vertical off the ball movement. Aggression without the ball, methodological patience with it. Mourinho, or rather his post-Madrid version, hates these things like a vampire hates the cross. H's all about keeping the shape in the defensive phase and surgical precision upfront. The former is what Poch changed when he came to London. As for the latter, he'll probably never find it at Spurs unless Levy starts to spend like crazy. And you know that he's not going to change his ways.

Anyway, i also see that the "awful squad" and the "need for a complete rebuild" excuses have already surfaced. It will be fun seeing him complain about how much money Pep was allowed to spend next season. It will go well with his digs at United who didn't give him all the support he wanted in the transfer market.

One thing that Mourinho is never going to lack in his life is money. One of the greatest managers of the game but what a narcisstic prick.

That tweet surely must be sarcasm. What do people expect Mourinho to do when he has just 2 or 3 players missing (even if important ones)? Is that really a genuine question?

How about not trying to park the bus after going 1 up against the reserves of the league's bottom club at home? Surely he don't need Kane and Son to come up with some sort of strategy that doesn't involve cowering in your own half, getting out played for large parts of the game by such formidable opponents.

Yes it is an odd situation but I would wait until the season is over before crucifying Jose. This Spurs side is the team that is probably the furthest away from a Jose team apart from City. That said he is also the best in antagonising his own players. I wonder how long it will take for them to turn on him?

All I hear these days is how in bad shape injury wise Spurs are, on every single site and news it's Mou complaining about their lack of quality and replacement for injured players. It's literally either Coronavirus or Mourinho on the news, and the last one that triggered me was where he said this is the worst injury crisis he's head in his career, so I went to check who they are missing.

They are literally missing 6 players in total, and two very important in Kane and Son. We have been without two out of Rashford, Martial, and Pogba for pretty much entire season, and it's happening every year in our team, and hardly anyone is complaining.

He is obviously done as world class manager, isn't he? All he does these days is just complain about every thing, that's his only quality left.

This prick had better give his Sevilla speech x10 after the game tonight.

The same team he coverted whilst United manager (wanted their players). He also said when he joined the squad was the main reason.

Can't wait to hear this clown's post-match interview.

He's gonna shit all over Tottenham as a whole to deflect the blame away from him and make Leipzig out to be world beaters while fully throwing his squad all the way under bus

I am still full of rage for that. At home in Champions League he literally gave in.
A Fecking Dinosaur. Whatever he has said against Wenger has came back to bite on his own ars3.

So it was actually the Burnley game, where they gave up more than 20 shots, that they prioritised?

Ironically, Spurs were in the final last season, so he can't go even with the similar heritage rant before he took over. Guess he can always call them generally insignificant or something in that sense.

Can moan all about the injuries, but he is being brutally exposed by a young progressive manager and a well-coached team here.

Everyone said the same, Levy appointing Mourinho is madness, it’s cats and dogs, Israel and Palestine, USA and North Korea and whatever crap analogy you can think of. Everyone said it and I think most of us still thought... hmm... is this maybe going to work in some strange way? Much smaller club with absolutely no warranted expectation to win anything.. he surely must have learned a lesson or three by now right?

No, everyone were right. Not only that, I think this is what finally drives Kane away. The club and project he loved, and it really was admirable and fun, is just a corporation like everything else. And Levy... except for Pochettino his managers have been utter crap, which leads me to believe it was just luck.

£15m a season.......and Levy is lorded as a shrewd deal maker - fecked up BIG time with this one!
Like he’s gonna win a trophy here....after only a few months he’s slagging off the top signing and whinging.....that’s gotta be a record for José.... I genuinely feel sorry for Tottenham

Finished as a top level manager and he'll never adapt to the modern game.

Basically he's a dinosaur now, harsh but he's totally out of his depth

I remember an ITV documentary about a decade ago about Jose, and they interviewed Sir Alex as part of it.

As I recall, the closing remarks of the documentary were Sir Alex saying that he'd won a stupid amount of trophies but seemed aware that Jose would probably eclipse that... at this rate, he's not getting close to Sir Alex.

Can't even lie, I'm quite enjoying seeing an old and stuck in his ways Jose getting thoroughly outclassed and outcoached on the pitch over 2 legs by a young, up and coming progressive manager like Nagelsmann...

Feeling a whole lot of schadenfreude watching right now

I wonder if you could draw parallels with 2004 when the young Jose Mourinho knocked out the experienced head of Sir Alex Ferguson, who whilst had won the league the previous year, didn't seem as untouchable as he was once was and you might have started to question whether Sir Alex had peaked at that time, with Wenger's Arsenal peaking and Chelsea being bought by Abramovich... along with other stuff on the side like Jason Ferguson's agent dealings and the Rock of Gibraltar dispute.

The shoe's on the other foot for him now. He's got to pick himself back up again or have his own renaissance and get back to the top like Sir Alex did.

Think people are being a tad unfair, not many managers could lose so many attacking players and not feel the brunt.

The biggest crime was not getting a stand in for Kane during the window. Levy must be held responsible for that.

I'm no Jose fan and his constant complaining definitely doesn't do him or his players that are not injured any favours.

However, if any other manager had Kane and Son out they would get some leeway.

I will say that he could do more, like give Parrot a try for example (remember when LVG played Rashford) instead of putting Dele up front when he's not a striker.

They made the CL final last year beating the likes of Dortmund, Citeh and Ajax (who had ended Madrids reign of dominance the round prior) without Kane until the final so I can't say Levy will be too pleased about going out in the Rof16 this year.

They also chose not to sign another striker during the winter window so they can't really blame not having cover for Son on anyone besides themselves...
