Made himself a Utd hero without even kicking a ball for this club. What position does this guy play in midfield?

Great finishing and composure. What? He is not a striker?

DM usually. Played like an AM tonight though.
Simeone has also used him out right, but I was hoping we'd sign him to pair with Fred, yeah. His mobility he showed going forward yesterday would be a nice fit. He's not Kante but he's not Matic either in terms of pace.

There's no way he is a defensive mid right? That second goal was awesome. He was surrounded by three defenders, didn't panic and used one man as a shield to curl it around. I crown thee, Sir Marcos the scouse slayer.

Weird isn't it, apparently this guy's only ever scored like 2-3 goals in his whole career

If you'd have told me that was Joao Felix who was bought for £120m I would have believed you, he looked fantastic when he came on. The assist for Morata also, beautiful 1-2 and a perfectly weighted pass.

I guess sometimes people just have a great day and everything goes right (or wrong in Adrians case).

I think if United are gonna to buy a new midfield player. A versatile one. I think United shall go for this guy in the next summer transfer.
I wasn’t checking why Atletico were conceding so few goals this season and what are reasons why they are on top of the table. Then i came over this guy. Even he scored two goals and had one assist against Liverpool earlier. For some reason I didn’t remember his name or forgot about him.

Then i go and checked if it exist a thread about him on Caf. So I don’t need to start a new thread. And i found this thread.
Like i said about. Llorente is versatile. Right now he is playing as a RCM in 3 midfield with A Madrid. Like this.

Llorente - Koke - Lemar

Llorente has everything as a creative attacking player. Explosive and really fast, beside has really ball skill. Top determination in everything he is doing with the ball. Has top guts and winning mentality.

This is a signing that will keep and help United to be on top and serious league title challenging contender. With a good price. I think A Madrid will might sell him. A Madrid had sell many top CF to premier league before. So i think it is a good chance United can get him.
Llorente is on Bruno level and will make impact straight away. He has everything to succeed with United and in premier league.
He has worked really hard after leaving R Madrid. This boy is top athlete and a machine. He clicks all the boxes.

Where to play him?

+ As a RCM in 433/451 formation:

Greenwood - Llorente - Fred - Bruno - Martial

+ As a CAM in 4411 formation :

+ As a nr.8 box to box in a 4411 formation :

+ As a RM like Pogba is doing lately. Im sure Llorente will be a better effect playing in this role than Pogba. Because of his workrate and speed. Like this:

Llorente - McTom/Fred - Pogba - Rashford

Llorente is big potential goalscorer. Scored 2 goals and had one assist against Liverpool last season. Llorente will take off the pressure from Bruno. His creative level is really high. Timing his running really good behind the opponents defend and LB.

Sum up. Like i said. This boy shall be United first prior target this summer. His market value now is 50 mill euro. Joined from RM for 33 euro mill. And until the summer. I think his market value can rise over 70 mill euro. After a successful and really good season with A Madrid.
This is a kind of signing that will lift United to another step. A midfield and football player that will help United to be on top for many years to come. Llorente is giving me really high confidence. That he is the right player.

My best recommendation if United want a really good and versatile midfield and football player.
Ideally. I think his market value and price will rise a lot. Until summer. If United can agree a deal that he will join United after summer and next season. About the price and agree a deal now. First lower price and lesser competition to get him now than the summer.

Last sentence and conclusion : This boy is a winner

He's a great player but Atletico won't sell anytime soon, nor would he want to leave.

His versatility is incredible and would be an asset to ANY team. He's lightening fast, bags of stamina, quality on the ball, is a real grafter, and is dangerous in the final third as he is creative and a scorer.

His value is more than 50-70m IMO and it would take silly money to get near him. He'd need to be on the last days of his contract. He's one of Simeone's favorites and is an extra dimension whichever position he's played.

He's not on Bruno's level. But, yes, he is a great player. But like I say, it's a none-starter really.

The Liverpool match. Could be the “match that made United bought Llorente. 2 goals and one assist. If he is a Liverpool killer. Scored ever time against them, would worth 50-60 mill euro.
Liverpool had and use to play with a high line defend. With his super acceleration, speed, determination and sharpness. Liverpool style suit this like gloves. Like Aston Villa pacey attackers.

And live irony. Zidane didn’t found him good enough. Together with Koeman didn’t found Suarez not good enough. Both of the join the enemy and rival. Then with two new really good players, two good factors and reason. Barca and Real Madrid. Hand the La liga trophies to A Madrid.

In competition and battle world and setting. If’s not fate and meant to happen. Weak your team and strength your rival and enemy. It’s not a good idea.

Yeah we want a harmony and peaceful world. But football world is a competition world. Set up for competition. Winner and looser. Only one winner and only on the throne. But still, i am on winning the throne on a fair and not dirty and ugly way. A winning way. Your enemies have to accept with no complaining.
And if mine rival teams are willing to let theirs best players to join me. Then i will welcome it with open arms.

Back to this boy. I like his level of determination on the pitch. It help his killer instinct and sharpness. It’s lacking of United attackers, special this season. Sharp as a sniper. Hit the target and goal every time. Top focus and determination are what this is having. High high level of end product. Reasons i wake up this thread. A players to keep close eyes on. Can be a piece, ingredient and puzzle, to winning the league again.

No top guts no glory. = Top engine and drive. Beside determination and sharpness.

Not the most credible sources, but there must be some hint of truth if there are about 10 sources suddenly reporting this.

I watch Atletico frequently, and this guy is one of the key names on the team sheet. Good on the ball, would continue running even if his legs hypothetically fell off, and has scored a remarkable 10 goals, topped up with 9 assists in all competitions from midfield. Based on his performances since that Pool game, he’d be a huge upgrade on VdB, Mata, Pereira and Lingard, and would definitely displace one of McFred in midfield. Might even be a good partner to Pogba in there.

Thoughts?

One view is that he looks great in Spain because of his power, but that might not stand out so much in the Premier League. I’m not sure how good he is, looks decent enough.

Linked with him last season from what I recall.
Yeah. We’ve clearly been monitoring him since his Real days. Very good player as I said, but £68.5m is, while spent on a player definitely better than anyone bar Pogba in our midfield, absolutely ridiculous.

I've read other followers/fans of his insinuate that by saying he's the Spanish Goretzka. Can anyone else say if that's a fair assessment? (I'd really love Goretzka by the way, but it's impossible).

left wing
From limited viewings, he's very capable in the holding role in a 4-3-3, but has struggled to adapt to playing in the double-pivot at Atletico (mostly because he's not dynamic enough and doesn't really contribute going forwards).

Could definitely do a job anchoring the midfield for us, though.
My assessment of him from 15 months ago was bang on, then - 19 goals / assists from midfield this season!

I think one of the only 2 threads i've created last year was about Goretzka. Imho, he's on the way to be one of GOAT central midfielder.
Dang, I'd love us having Goretzka like in CM.

That's exactly what was said of him in our fixtures against him. His physicality he used in Spain was non existent vs us and he looked average.

He'd suffer the same fate as Van de Beek if our plan is to stick with the double pivot.
If anything he is very likely to get more game times than VDB because he is nothing like VDB but basically more like McTominay with more technical attribute and versatile.

Seems like another van de Beek transfer — a midfielder that is comfortable in any midfield position, but his best form came in a role that's not really compatible with Bruno's. I'm not sure about this one, especially if Pogba isn't going to leave.
