She used to play for them. Like someone else I can think of...
It’s a false analogy but she hasn’t spent the last year trying to engineering a move out of United with Juve one of the major clubs shes being linked to. In women’s football they have shorter contracts too and players move around more freely for little in transfer fees. It’s just not as emotive in the women’s game and people care less generally. The spirit of why Pogba was criticised for that post just doesn’t exist here.

I don’t care one way or the other but it just isn’t the same thing.

I know. It was partly tongue in cheek but people were clearly delighted to have another reason to pile on him. Even after he mentioned it in his post.

It only matters when Pogba does it!!

Because he’s faking injury, loves Juve, wants to move to Madrid, has loud mouth brothers and agent, is not the very embodiment of peak ZiZou every game, likes social media, has a hash tag of his own name, likes to play pattercake pattercake with JLingz, dyes his hair, earns a lot of money, cost a lot of money, invented the dab, silly penalties, has his own emoji... or something

Any proof he wants to go engineer a move to Juve?

It would have been less effort for Pogba to, you know, not wear the Juve shirt and to not post it on social media. United fans didn’t go in to “meltdown”, nobody gives a shit if he stays or goes at this point. Whether he wants to leave or not, he clearly courts this attention and feeds off it. I would guess that most United fans are annoyed at having this social media clown constantly in the spotlight for doing stuff that has nothing to do with the team on the pitch.

Thank you for proving my point.

I thought that, in the women's game, they team hop every 5 minutes anyway.
she’s always been at United with the girls teams. She left when she was too old for those and we didn’t have a women’s team set up....signing for Liverpool. She later spent a year a Juventus. At least she didn’t wear the Liverpool shorts

But from twitter, it’s safe to say she’s a United fan

Absolutely. Team captain. Overdue and England call up I think personally.

It is absolutely outrageous. I am outrageously outraged. Meltdown doesn't even begin to describe the level of my outrage.

This is trying to pretend you don't care a little bit too hard didn't it? A LOT of people reacted negatively about the Juve shirt. That certainly qualifies. instead of taking a reasonable explanation at face value, a lot of posters, including yourself, choose to read a lot into it and go on a tangent about how terrible a behavior this is. All while ignoring Lindelöf in a Sampdoria shirt because he's not been linked BY THE MEDIA to another club.

The amount of lying about not caring is going to make Pinocchios nose reach interstellar orbit at this rate. If it hits the ISS, I am holding you personally responsible.

"Pogba feels at home in Italy; Italy is like his second home or family, same feeling as [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic. That's why Paul would like to come back to Juventus. But we'll go to speak about that just after the Euro 2020. Pogba wants to play at the best levels always...but he can't escape by Manchester United now, in this moment where the club is not having a good period."

Mino Raiola.

Wow, it's amazing, it's almost as if United women team doesn't generate as much attention as the men team, nevermind our 2nd highest paid player (Sanchez discarded) who's known mostly for his knack for drawing attention is talked about more than a player about 80% of our fans don't know or care about. Crazy.

Mino Raiola says that Paul Pogba wants to stay at Manchester United and “win prizes” but the agent believes the club needs to support the midfielder more.

I really don’t care. If he wants to stay I’m fine with that, if he wants to leave I’m fine with that too.

The discussion here is that he’s got previous with social media antics and flirting with other clubs. Lindelof has not. He’s so aware of how this looks that he actually has to put a disclaimer in the video text for gods sake! My question is, why even do this? There’s a hundred other ways he could have showed solidarity with Italy and a friend, but he chose this. It’s a little bit fascinating honestly, I think he just likes the publicity and knows that this is how to get people talking and to make headlines.

You'd have to be living on a fantasy island of your own imagining to believe that Pogba isn't looking for a way out of United. He may stay but it will only be because no one will pay what United want.

I don’t think she should be wearing Juventus shorts if she’s the captain of Manchester United, same way Pogba should have more sense that to wear their top.

Stop fishing, I think a club captain should have a loyalty to the club and not wear other teams merchandise I wouldn’t wear a rivals top if I was playing grassroots never mind Premier League

Does she have a history of wanting to move away and getting her agent and/or brother to do the dirty media work for her?

No, I’m entitled to fish. So her wearing Juve shirts means she has shown a lack of loyalty to United?

Maybe, just maybe, we should consider that a shirt worn by a football player off duty isn’t reflective of their ‘loyalty’ or allegiance. Where does it stop? What if she wore a Brazil shirt?

Can football fans not be a little more grown up? Can we not move beyond being so insecure that a different shirt is an affront to our trust in our players?

Sexists will use it against her for sure. I think she should take another pic using some small United short, and share via insragram to calm down fans.

Why can’t the players be more grown up?
The fans pour millions on pounds worth of their money into the club to pay their vast salaries, fans that wouldn’t dream of wearing other teams merch why can’t the players do the same?

The players aren’t fans. The only shirt that matters is the one a player wears to play his or her matches. I still cannot get my head around an adult saying that the other adult is the immature one because they wore a different shirt or shorts in their home to the one they play matches with. Football is seemingly consuming people.

Fans paying money to watch football entitles them to demand what a player wears in his or her house?! Players swap shirts all the time. If a young Tranmere player managed to swap shirts with a Pogba or Harry Kane - I’d expect that they might want to wear it for a kick about. This is all in keeping with modern over-analysis of football, and has spread to off the field.

I ask again, now that this young lady has worn Juve shorts while working out, probably because she thought, ‘shorts are shorts’ - what does it now mean exactly?

Might as well merge with the Pogba outrage thread. It's only gonna go the same way. Is this the spin off or the sequel?

I didn’t say it was immature I said it was in bad taste for the captain of one of the biggest clubs in the world to wear the kit of another club.
I don’t understand your question “what does that mean”. I told you what I thought about it.
It’s my opinion an one am going to keep

You said ‘maybe the players should grow up and not wear other team’s gear’, which is the same as calling it an act of immaturity or childishness.

My question of ‘what does it mean’ is for you to forward some form of rationale. Without one, it simply isn’t ‘wrong’ for her to have worn the shorts.

To say ‘a player should never wear another team’s kit’ is easy. So when a player actually goes ahead and wears another team’s kit, the realisation of why it was wrong in the first place is supposed to occur. Only to actually say it out loud is what reveals the stupidity of it. And without answering the question of ‘what now’ - we are just left with ‘it’s wrong because it just is’.

For example, if you came out and said, in response to my question of ‘what does it mean’, that ‘it means she has betrayed her club’, it would make you look ridiculous. If you said ‘because it makes us fans feel bad/sad’, it also looks silly of the fans.

What you have is ‘it just is’. Well she’s worn the shorts now, so what does it mean for her, us, the club, her future? A decent answer to any of those will validate why it is supposedly ‘wrong’ in the first place. If nothing has changed with anybody, even slightly, well then ...
