The official numbers, that were published this morning were 92 new deaths and 3677 new cases. I'm sure that those numbers are lower because the reporting on the weekend usually is slower and the numbers of new cases is always lower on the weekend. Probably because not all laboratories work at full capacity on the weekend. But the graph for the last week along with the new numbers today is certainly promising.
The official German dashboard gives you a more detailed graph for the daily number of cases. It dates them back to the day of the diagnosis and not adds them for the day they were reported. So it gives you a better impression for the development. You'll find it on the bottom right here:
https://corona.rki.de/ . The blue bars are the numbers from yesterday, the yellow ones the newly added ones today. The bars for last week are still a bit higher than the week before and we'll see a few cases added to it once all results come in the next days, but the rise has certainly slowed down a lot and there's a good chance we see it plateau or maybe even decrease this week.
I agree though that it's too early to make comitments now and I'd be surprised if Merkel did that today. From what you can read in the media, we should expect strict measures for people entering the country and more controls at all borders. Maybe we get to hear a bit about a possible plan for opening up the country, but I think it's unlikely and I'm certain she won't announce a fixed date.
