Using GPS tracking system and analysis,

1. Lingard have been top among many charts.
2. Top speed -- James fastest player, with Tuanzebe 2nd and Lingard the 3rd.
3. Bruno fastest sprinter in 5.5. metres.

---

Another interesting bits,

"The strength and conditioning coach Charlie Owen, lead sports scientist Ed Leng, and head of athletic training Richard Hawkins held web meetings with players on Instagram."

A. Strength & Conditioning Coach
B. Sports Scientist
C. Head of Athletic Training

Wonder what other coaches or roles the club have?

Being dropped seems to have given Jesse a kick up the backside. Though his greatest deficiencies re in his technical ability and consistency rather than physical fitness.

Lingard, physically, was always performing well, from reports I've read throughout the last seasons. I really hope this break takes all the mental pressure off and he can start playing to his potential.

He’s really very good. We just don’t understand it because we’re haters and us football fans know nothing about football.

Unsurprising — physical endurance has never been his weakness, which is what I assume most of these tests cover. I’m sure he covered the most ground for England at the WC in 2018.

"Lingard finished top of the high speed running (the total distance covered at a speed of 5.5 meters per second or above) with 13,341 metres in a single session, followed by Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay."

Somethings is not right there. Isn't Maguire one of the slowest player around?

His acceleration is poor, but top speed may be quite different.

Shouldn't be contentious because Lingard is a physical specimen. On the other hand, it's also not contentious to point out his lack of effectiveness in games.

Reminds me a bit of Mkhitaryan.

So he ran at 20km/h for 13.3km?

That seems insane.

The break will do Lingard good. He’s got another chance - I thought we’d get rid this summer before COVID.

Dawkins before training : "There is no proof of the existence of god and the bible is outdated"
Dawkins after training : "Lingard topping the charts is a proof of existence of god and I was outdated"

Listened to a podcast today where Andy Mitten said Lingard came very close to leaving the club last summer and there's every chance he will do this summer.

Really miss all football arguments we were having here re players and Ole. Were fun days even if they were full of problems. :D Maybe this long period without matches will calm everyone down whenever football returns and United play again.

Yes this is a common myth with basis in bolony that's being peddled around here.

I remember we got the same reports last August that Ole was really impressed with Lingard in pre-season. But I think Lingard has shown over past seasons that he just can't cut it at Utd for whatever reason. He has no consistency and has looked average against weaker sides.
There's obviously a good player in there somewhere as was proven in the 2018 world Cup, but I'm not sure he deserves another chance here as he's been bang average for a long time now.

Same as Smalling. People always called him slow despite being one of the fastest players in the squad

Has always been a workhorse, that's never been his issue although kudos for staying in shape. I actually think he's a great option for cover across the attackers/midfield and don't mind him being on the bench.

typically for us he’ll start doing well and get offered a new deal just as we were about to let him go and then more than likely go back to 5/10 performances and being totally annoying acting like he’s one of the best players we have. No player should be indulged at a club this big if (a) they are out of form for Way longer than they’ve been in form or (b) they can’t stay fit for longer than a few games. What’s the point? There are lots of players out there who could do a better job for us and we could still get a good fee for Jesse and reinvest. If he wasn’t an academy player he’d be gone by now. I understand the personal problems he’s had but he’s also been his own worst enemy drawing all that extra attention onto himself in the first place. Definitely shades of TC23.

He's had an awful couple of seasons. But before that he had some decent moments and I thought I played an important part at 2018 World Cup.

He was never going to be a superstar, but somewhere along the line he went from being a respectable squad player for Manchester United to looking out of place against League 1 teams.

It’s not about top speed, it’s about persisting at a minimum intensity which is stated at 5.5m / s

He was only good enough for few months period, from November 2017 to Feb 2018. Rest of his career is as we all know.

That’s not particularly fast in terms of pure speed. It’s more of a coasting speed, around 18 seconds per 100m.

Repeating it for reps up to a total of 13k shows Lingaard has an impressive work capacity.
