for what it's worth, the United twitter has tweeted about Gomes A LOT these past days. Don't think they'd do that if he wasn't staying.

Good stuff! I hope he goes out on loan next year. It would have been crappy watching him go to Chelsea only to be sent out. He still has a long way to go before he’s going to get into the team here either way. I’d say it’s 50-50 whether he makes it here or not but someone with his skill set should be given time and patience to develop. If lingard who’s a squad player is getting 100 a week then Angel is worth 30 for the next while. Despite his size he’s still one of the top players in his age group.

If it's true I wonder where we're going to play him. Wasn't he transitioning back towards central midfield for the youth teams?

He will replace one of Lingard / Andreas in the squad, fingers crossed both will leave

I like Howson but the last video I saw of his when he mentioned Gomes must have only been a week ago and he was saying he was off
Howson knows sod all about players contracts, just one of the multitude of youttubers making a living by claiming to have some insight to our club. He videos are just rehashed transfer speculation.

It's dependent on who is in charge of the lineup. Butt seems to prefer him as the pivot (older Scholes), while others play him as an attacking midfielder.

Any confirmation on him signing a new contract?
I also didn't see him in the pics from the training match. Saw Chong, Tuanzabe, and TFM.

Don't know if TFM can qualify for youth anymore.

He obviously has promise, but he has made so little impact on the first team. It's hard to that interested in his contract saga at this point.

Surely Ole knows f he is going to sign or not as he is in charge of the squad. This is what pisses me off, the club will leave things open for speculation thinking there is no such thing as bad publicity when their real fan base just want to know who is going to be at our club and who isn't.

Ole said in a post match interview after Sheffield that he doesn't know what is happening, but Gomes has had a contract offer for a long time.

You can't blame the club for player gamesmanship in their contract negotiations

Still waiting for the Youthquake
If he doesn't sign before kickoff tomorrow the club should withdraw, or reduce the contract offered - the kid though talented is getting far too big for his little boots.
you would have thought that by now he must know what hes doing am I right in thinking he could sign with us now but cant sign for a new club till 1st July - if thats the case it does seem to suggest he might be off otherwise whats the difference in signing now or in 4 days as to the best of my knowledge we are not negotiating anymore its take the contract on offer or dont

I don't know how the contracts work, maybe he's got an agreement with the club to run down his contract, then re-sign getting a signing on fee which would make up for the shortfall in wages he wants that the club is obviously not prepared to meet - yes i'm probably overthinking it

This is a real life business negotiation, that isn’t concluded yet. They have no obligation to feed needs for entertainment.

The club will tell us when it’s done, or when confirmed it isn’t to be done. Before that, there is no news, unless you feel that you are entitled to know exactly where negotiations of another person’s salary/contract sit at the moment.
