Bought the game today and am planning on running a draft to see how it goes.

Bear in mind I am not looking to start this up until some time in July.

Going to run a snake draft and use those teams in the game engine. I am initially considering the usual draft knockout format using all time cricketers - it reckons it has them all. Don is of course blocked.

Best of 3 test series - still need to check out certain things - conditions will be random unless I find I can let the drafters know before team selection - squads of 13 to be selected I think that's enough.

I will progress each match over by over so can ask for each drafter's tactics in advance and follow them the best I can when playing the games.

Anyone who likes the sound of this please reply below and by all means make any suggestions. Let me know if you would want reinforcement rounds etc. We can also look at one day and 20/20 teams if this works.

*Mods I'm not sure if this belongs here or in other sport can see non football drafts in both*

Sounds great! Is it all time players?
Will be current players (well the ones in the game). Might be too top heavy with the first picks having a big advantage.

Shall we try auction again?

Yeah for what I've tried so far - I've not played the normal mode yet. I think I am going to rule out an auction for now I simply won't have time to do that we are still busy at work unless someone else wants to do that part.

I used to do this when I was a kid making my own dice game rules up playing imaginary test matches. What a saddo I know :)

Just had a quick fiddle about and looks like I can announce the conditions before the 11 is picked and the toss - it gives pitch conditions and weather forecast so that's interesting.

Will do this first one as a snake with randomised order as usual.

Gonna have to think about asking before each match under what circumstances you would want to declare - it's not perfect but should be a bit of fun.

Be nice to hone everything else before trying a one dayer or 2020 when things like declarations aren't involved. Can also think about things like the length of bowling spells and how much you want each bowler to be used.

This is the kind of info you get before finalising your XI so there is scope for a squad of 13 to make changes

Seems we are going to have enough interest - give me a week to adjust to some new work changes and I'll start putting things togther in here.
