Get in!! Made hard work of it though, much harder than it should’ve been. Hopefully the extra time doesn’t effect us to much for the Brighton game.

Job done eventually. Can talk about United below average performance but I think I'd prefer to give credit to Norwich who put in a serious shift with 10 men and almost got a penalty shootout.

Our play in and around the penalty box is embarrassingly predictable. Creative players or not, so much of that depends on the training field but I'm sure we don't have the right people to carry this team to the next level.

On to Semis but sadly we won't be winning on this evidence.

Obertans #1 fan.
Poor from the manager and coaching staff. Ighalo, Martial, Rashford, Greenwood, Bruno and Pogba, yet mentally we collapse into lumping it to Maguire in the box. It worked today, but isn’t effective football long term. A bit of a wake up call in what’s needed for top 4.
You are exactly right. We are never gonna win a game crossing into Maguire late on. This match was perfect proof of that.

That was just awful. The selection, the setup, the automated substitutions at the usual 60 odd mins.

It just reminded me of what used to be before Bruno came in and single handedly change fortunes.

That would have unnecessarily exhausted and potentially knocked us of our flow today. Will wait and see.

Bruno needs a rest. Very happy with the goal as I didn't fancy us against Krul for penalties.

13 games unbeaten.

Pretty bad management from first minute to last.
Bad selection from the start with Lingard and Mata. Too late with subs. Then allowing them to get back in the game.
Extra time is special category. That was pure improvisation. You can see that we didn't train for this and that there were no special instructions.

On a positive side:
We are in semis
Pogba, Martial and Harry are in top form.

Bit of a grind but, job done. Expected a bit of hit and miss performance based on that lineup which barely had any football minutes in the last few months.

In all honestly, it was poor stuff, but we can just be relieved we got the job done. Very few get pass marks today; I thought the defenders did okay, but going forward we lacked ideas. Even Bruno struggled today. The red card was a huge bonus; I'm just glad we managed to avoid penalties. It brightens up a horrible week.

I have Maguire MOTM for a vital block, a good header which needed a wonder save, and the winner.

Lesson: Stop wasting minutes on clowns like lingard. Cowardly performance from him.
People are wondering why Gomes may leave when you see lingard so far ahead of you in the pecking order.

Wasn't pretty but we got the job done. Just put that shit behind us and pray we never see Lingard and Mata again.

Well, at least most of the squad got plenty of game time!

Much tougher than it should've been, our team selection meant we were really slow to get going and it ended up being really tough to break down their ten men. Maguire is a great option to have when you're in that position and got the job done.

Lingard, mata should never play together, forget starting a game.

Bruno switched off today. So was almost everyone else.

Pogba, Ighalo, HM were good.

Good stuff

Glad we got over the line. Countless times in the past, we've totally bottled it and we were close to doing it today again.

It's so obvious that the quality outside our first XI just does not exist. Ighalo is doing a good job as back up striker but, Lingard and Mata were just very very poor.

Watching the game till Pogba and Matic came on was like watching us from the beginning of the season.

So clear to see how much we need to invest in quality players to improve the overall sqaud.

Poor display, but the result is all that matters in these games. The important thing is that we are into a semi final and only 2 games away from a trophy.

That was a bit of a shit show. The team were too lax in the first half and never really got going. Ole made a lot of changes and it showed.

Ighalo was my motm, thought he was brilliant, scored a goal, forced a red card and contributed to the winner. I thought Shaw had a good game and also thought Williams played well off the bench. Other than that , shame on the midfield who were utter pants today.

Still job done, if we play like hat against the in form Brighton then we are gonna get spanked so must do better!

How many chances does ole have to give lingard before realizing he is better of just using one of the youth players like Chong instead

Ole was right to put out a weakened team, but it couldn’t get its motor started and Norwich were too good.

So we needed our big guns, and experience to keep calm, and we finally got a deserved winner.

Not ideal but it all good.

Too many changes almost feck us up. Norwich might be poor but they're still a PL team, we underestimated them way too much.

My wit's end
It was Norwich's last hurrah. Realistically, they're already relegated in the league. This was their cup final, and it showed that they cared about the match more than us. Ole's starting lineup also set the tone for that, but it was understandable as this is only 3rd in our list of priorities this season.

Overall, though, I don't think we were that bad. A bit pedestrian at times, but it was difficult to change things after a slow start from the second string.

Against 10 men it can always be difficult, especially if they just pack the box, but does anyone here think Shitty or the Dippers would have struggled to score against Norwich?

Slow, lethargic, playing ourselves to a standstill with nobody making penetrating runs.
Poor poor poor.

Lingard proving again he has no positive impact when he plays. More a negative impact.
Get rid. Nope. Oli will think he’s done well.

Greenwood. Some nice touches on the wing, but again, having very little positive impact on the game. He’s young, so he has an excuse.
Rashford on the otherhand? No excuses. Sorry, but he’s not good enough to anything but a good squad player.

What a BRILLIANT tactical masterclass from Ole again, knew we needed that extra match fitness and made sure he told our players to only win it right at the end of extra time.

I was half looking forward to the shootout with all the attackers we had on the pitch! Glad we didn't need a shootout though. We were poor but got there in the end.

Almost lost there because of a goal from Amy Adams and terrific saves from Gatis Kandis

What a waste of energy that game was. But we won at least. Very annoying though.

C’mon. You know as well as I do that if long ball to Maguire is an effective strategy we would do that from the first minute in games. Desperate tactics will sometimes pay off. Doesn’t mean it was the right decision to deploy them.
