Worst player I've ever seen to get so many chances in a top Europe side. Should never enter a pitch as a Manchester United player again. "First game back" is not an excuse as he's putting the same kind of performance for years. Almost 2.000 minutes in the season that could've gone to a youngster with actual talent and future, unbelievable.

His end product was lacking. Got into some good positions but either some wayward shooting or poor passing let him down.

We should shift training ground and stadium and don't tell him where to come.

His first minutes of the "season"...) give him a bit of a break

He was starting to play better in the second half.
I understand he’s rusty but considering he absolutely should be trying to prove a point he played with no heart at all. Same safe stuff as always. Strolling around thinking he’s great and adding nothing, always slowing things down and getting in the way. I wanted him to do something positive today but it’s just not there with him anymore.

Contrary to what others belive, I think if Lingard doesn't up his performances he'll be gone by next season.
Who in the hell is gonna sign him?? Or pay him even 50% of what we are...

We are stuck with him. He’s going nowhere.

He's rusty but I don't think he's good enough to be a United player. He screams of the type of player who should play for Everton or Watford.

He's just not good enough. We need to get rid, we should give one of the youngsters a chance instead of him for the rest of the season.

Well done for taking a comment out of context. Its a performance thread to discuss his recent performance.
No I know I wasn't having a go at you, but it's like you don't even have to say he lacked end product.

With Lingard it's just an automatic guarantee that he has no end product.

Terrible performance today, offered nothing in attack, and his positioning made it harder for everyone else. His time is up here.

Raiola must be mad as hell. He will have his work cut out getting a bag of crips and a packet of fruit pastels
for Lingard.

I really like him as a lad and player but I’ve felt all year he’s just not at the races or good enough on the ball for us. Great off the ball and fitness but sadly that’s not good enough for man united moving forward. Which is a shame but hopefully he can go on to have a good career elsewhere

He just does nothing all game. Takes no risks, does nothing adventurous.

He just slowly ambles around the pitch and does 5 yards backwards and sideways passes. It's really cowardly.

Everytime someone here says Lingard is a bench-player or only good enough for the Championship, they're insulting the profession of professional football.

Lingard isn't good enough for our bench or the Championship!

Absolutely appalling how this has been allowed to continue for so long. If he wasn't English, I'm sure pundits in this country would be mocking him by now.

This..... I really think we have a few players who are at Everton and Watford level. We just need to get rid of the dead wood

Has to be sold this season.

Himself Andreas Smalling Sanchez Jones and for me Mata should all be for sale.

We should be looking to get rid of all of the above bar 2 at minimum.

It’s psychological. I don’t think he’s strong enough for United. He has a very good top level but has been in his shell for a long time. He needs to play for a lower profile club in my opinion.

I would rather start Periera ahead of him. At least he has a bit of fight in him.

Cowardly performance, don't think he created a single chance. How many times he passed sideways or backwards, and I barely remember any passes forward. Pathetic performance all around.

There is still some dross that needs to be rid of, as we have very little good depth in the squad.

We should have done that with Gomes already this season.

Attitude was poor, looked like a player going through the motions and waiting to leave. If he's not motivated to play for us then he should think about his next club. I've held back on Lingard because he's out of his depth but application was there. Disgusting performance, want him gone.

It’s a shame, but he’s gone completely backwards over the last two years. There was a time under Jose where he looked good for a period, but he needs to relaunch his career somewhere else.

I think he’d do well enough for teams in the lower half of the prem.

The writings on the wall for him, but he should be getting his head down and playing for the shop window right now.

Was very unproductive today, against a very poor team. I've always tried to see positives in all United players, but I'm afraid every time I've watched him this season, he has failed to show any consistent good play, ball control, decision making and shooting (he always seems to have shots blocked). I just think with Gomes in that role we would have created so much more. I cannot see Lingard getting another start for United, but may get the odd sub appearance (personally I would rather see an academy player getting on the bench). Time for him to move abroad I think.

We had 1-0 up with Lingard starting. So job done then we subbed him of and got worse.
Not that Lingard did do much, but he at least pressed pretty well and helped us keep the defensive shape.
Thus not the time to bash Lingard much in my opinion apart from a few bad moves.
