Good thing there are no fans. Your players really thrive from your fans support.
I’m not so sure, in the run up to the league being suspended our fans were really getting at the players and they were complaining about it. Potter has spoken out about it and even Paul Barber our CEO has written about it. Having the fans out of the Amex for a bit might just do us a favour, the fake crowd noise is far more forgiving!

Yeah sorry 55. They'd be 3pts clear of us and Wolves and we are still to play them of course.
but they have +30 goal difference, we have +17. So we need to improve ours very significantly before the last game of the season

Big game, back to our strongest side, Shaw maybe rested after playing 120mins yesterday.

    DDG
    AWB Lindelof Maguire Williams
    Matic Pogba
    Mason Bruno Rashford
    Martial

Bit like the sheff utd game, expect the front 5 to be subbed off if the game is comfortable. Leicester have tough game away at Everton on Wednesday so could be a chance for us to close the gap.

I have been saying this for 2 weeks. We need to go to town on 1 or 2 of our opponents. We may need GD to keep Wolves off our backs as yet. They don't score too many but don't concede many either.

we need to decrease the differential from minus 13 to minus 3 by the last game of the season. Then we would be in a position when a 2-goal victory over Leicester lets us leapfrog them in the table

Be a tough match this, I'd gladly settle for an undeserved 0-1/1-2 right now. Hopefully Luke Shaw eats a dodgy Kebab in the next few days and a proper footballer(Williams) replaces him, otherwise hoping for Ole's first XI of choice.
    Willian was poor yesterday

Mentioned this in another thread but we need to target their LB, get Greenwood/James running directly at him and they'll get the better of him for pace everytime.

Don’t forget about the Europa as an avenue to secure CL footy. We should be winning that, really. Inter are the only real threat, and I think we’re better than them.

Ohh strange music in my head ... I predict ... we win this. I predict ... we lose to Cheaty in the Final. I predict Ole fields a ten man forward line after we go a goal down and this tactical approach is strangely criticized by people who should know better ... oh and I predict top four and Euroagony next year.

I don’t forget that, but winning Europa League is by no means guaranteed. Certainly it’s better than to finish 4th without any silverware for our trophy cabinet

This is one of the games I really fear - Brighton can cause problems for most teams, if we win this one - I am pretty certain we will take 4th … but this match could ruin a lot

They look deadly. Their logo, their jersey, their name, their coach, their players. It all looks like a side that would give you big problems

    :DHow about United?
Red devil, reds, United, smiling positive coach, bunch of mishaps joining together not by good design?
^ Those seems conflicting with one another.. perhaps "sinister smiles".

If we are 2pts behind them or better we won't need to.

    Why?

James is better in away games and pretty much fully fresh after not playing the Norwich game and only 10-20 minutes of the Sheffield United one, while Wan-Bissaka didn't play against Norwich either.

Brighton has managed 4 points out of 6 to start the post lockdown games when most people would have expected them to get 0. This makes me think they will come onto us as this is a free hit so to speak. We'll need energy and pace on the counter.

I'm pretty sure James will start anyway.
I wouldn't trust James, McTominay and AWB on the same flank again after what they served up at Tottenham. Being fresh and fit does not matter when they are all incredibly limited players.
The XI should be the same as the one we fielded against Sheffield, and likely will.

I agree with what others are saying. I think Bruno will start on the bench for this game maybe play the last 30 minutes.

Really looking forward to this .... do think Maupay may be a handful but if we start with a very strong lineup (even with Bruno rested) we should be okay as they miss their fans so much. If not behind closed doors this would be very tricky.

Hopefully Martial keeps up his confidence, obviously good against Sheffield United but I thought he looked extremely good against Norwich.

This is going to be a difficult game. We haven't beaten Brighton since their promotion right?
We beat them 3-1 the last time we played them

    Pereira, McTominay and Rashford scored

    Starting XI was

    Martial
    Rashford
    Pereira
    James

    McTominay
    Fred

    Williams
    Maguire
    Lindelof
    AWB

    De Gea

Rest Shaw, do not rest Bruno.

This is going to be very hard. Toughest fixture left including Palace and Leicester. We can rest if needed against bournemouth at home... now is not the time to be taking things lightly.

I don’t think we should rest Bruno. He seems to have exceptional fitness and we need to play our best available 11 to make sure we win this one. Bournemouth at the weekend is an opportunity to give him a rest, assuming this result goes well.

Tough match but they don’t shut up shop, so I’m hopefully we will find chances easy to come by.

We need to go with Martial and Rashford and strengthen the midfield. Play Matic and Fred and let Fred be the box to box. If we play Bruno let him push in between Rashford and Martial.

Played 2 lost 2 at the Amex haven't we? Incredible how many times we drop points to these sides. Hopefully the fact there's no crowd this time can give us a boost at a ground we haven't done well at.

Same team that started Sheff Utd game for me. Forget the Norwich game now as we got through and that's all that matters now. If we go on to win the Cup we won't give a rats how we got through the last 8 tie will we.

I do think we rest Bruno, but keep him on the ready if things go south. I keep hoping Garner gets back in, I love the way he plays. Should we be up 3 or 4, I can see Chong getting back in, too.

What happens if goal difference and points are level? Because even if the gap is 6 goals going into the game, a 3 goal win would still level it.

Apparently then the number of goals scored will be a factor.

But our form fell away after Christmas and the win against Arsenal was our first win in 2020.
Yeah, I was surprised to hear this when AFTV mentioned it. You have looked good in the sporadic times I’ve watched your boys play, and will be a challenge for us. Dunk would be a great backup defender for any top 6 team too, tbf to him.

Besides, Bruno looked knackered yesterday, which is lucky for you as I worry that once he inevitably gets subbed off, a few men are plunked on Pogba and we lose any creative threat. Hopefully we’ll be winning by then; Rashy and Martial have to be on it from the off come Tuesday.

I think people need to stop looking at these games from a normal perspective. These are practically neutral venues. I can’t say I’ve seen one real upset since football has returned. The better team will win more often than not if both teams go for it in neutral settings.

I agree we need to play Bruno though. Every game if possible. Goal difference is also a factor, and Bournemouth and Villa are the two obvious opportunities I see for us really pushing our GD up. I think we need to be looking at going 7 goals up from those two if we can.

Seeing Leicester again today just highlights how much of a must win this'll be. Leicester go to Everton where I'm fairly confident they'll drop more points must make sure we do our part

We simply have to win every game left in the league. Good run-in on paper. Hope we pick up from where we left off against Sheffield.

Brighton have the advantages of a week rest and more time to prepare and they have no traveling to do.

I watched them against both Leicester, Arsenal, a well organised outfit that will be hard to beat. Last August to November this was the type of game whereby United would slip up in so what we have here is a great opportunity to prove once more that United have moved on from that mediocre inconsistent team.

I'd go with the same starting 11 as what started v Sheffield United. Shaw, Maguire,Bruno can be rested against Bournemouth next Saturday.

Leicester and Arsenal are both poor sides at the moment tbh, not sure how much to take from those games. They are a respectable side, but on neutral settings, we should be very disappointed not to beat them.

Honestly, they have 3 months break already. So it’ll still be the same lineup to me and kill the game earlier before 65th min and then we can rest Bruno. If I have to rest one guy, it might be Shaw for Williams, otherwise, same line up.
