It's weird that we have a much better record against City and Chelsea than Arsenal this year.

Can Chelsea new signing play in the semi since they have already left their clubs?

I know everyone wanted Arsenal, I'm just relieved we didn't get City. Would be fantastic to get a Manchester derby in the final.

I would have preferred one of us getting City in the semi, Arsenal ain't got a prayer and Pep's record in finals is ridiculous.

The FA should have done something here, no one wants to see us beat Chelsea and City for a 4th time in a single season

Seriously though while I don't fear this Chelsea side or their manager in the slightest we surely can't beat them 4 times in a single season can we? And then there's the prospect of a final against City :nervous:

I’m confident. They are weak at the back and being a top team they will have to come on to us, rather than sitting back. We’ve beaten them three times this season and now have Bruno.
For some reason, despite not caring about it normally, I’d really love to win the FA Cup this year.

Nah. City not getting there would be sweeter
Of course. I think they would beat Chelsea in the semi anyway.

Yes, it's a serious challenge. I still like the prospect of a huge final like that.

Bored with playing you lot!

Admittedly, I might feel different if we had not lost all three.
I think we were lucky to get 1 win in about 15 games a few years ago against Chelsea, you can give us 4 in a row :)

July 18th for the United v Chelsea semi final. United were to play West ham that date in the league as was Chelsea v Liverpool, i presume those games will be moved to midweek a few days before the final weekend of the PL season.

I think this is a really tough draw and would have been nice to have had them play City.

But you gotta beat the best sides, what a chance for Ole to really lay down a marker and beat Chelsea and City one more time.

With the two sides competing in the league, I wonder if there will be any psychological impact of the result here.

On August 21 i think we will say "Our season was actually pretty good" :)
- 4th place in the league (after a disastrous start)
- Europa League trophy
- FA-Cup trophy
- If Mata would have taken the free-kick and not Fred against Manchester City in 2nd leg semi-final then our run in the League Cup could have gone further too
- Unbeaten since 27 matches and January 22
- We have won 4 times in a single season against Chelsea and Manchester City (especially Guardiola)

Surely Utd cant beat Chelsea 4 times in a season.

Frank has changed things since the restart and the defence is tighter. They haven't yet conceded from open play and Kante seems to have got his better CDM place back.

Thought both teams looked poor in last round although beating Leicester was more of a challenge than Norwich.

If we beat Chelsea, we'll definitely turn City over in the final.

I actually wanted this draw. There is no better way to judge if Frank has really learned anything than playing a team that has beaten us 3 times already with the same tactics.

Yep it’s a great draw for you to be fair, and our matches are always tight, you guys are turning a corner and we are also playing good stuff, will be a tight game.

Genuinely feel like we've already played and beaten Chelsea in the FA Cup this season.

Whats the same tactic though? Ill dismiss the first game because its the first game of the season but I just dont see this sit back and counter narrative thats popped up. Last 3 visits to SB and 3 wins and there isnt a counter attack involved in any of them.
Its just very hard to contain our attackers unless you completley shut up shop. Thats not tactics, thats quality

So we finally get a home draw and it's being played at Wembley anyway.

I feel like we have a shit record there. We probably don't, but Chelsea '07 and Barca '11 are too painful.

Bring on anyone.

The current team with Ole in charge is just a damn delight to watch in the big games(minus Mourinho's boring Tottenham).

Remind me how many 'top' sides City beat on their way to the FA Cup win last year?

Damn delight is overstating it somewhat, but they're getting there. Glad to see some positivity though.

Still need the type of quality that Sancho will bring

It's not peak Fergie stuff obviously, but it's very entertaining. Pogba, Bruno, Rashford and Martial are capable of producing magic. The intensity of McTominay is also great to see.
