Maybe, although to be fair to Shaw, he finished quite strongly (as he did against Spurs). The cross/pass to Ighalo was quality.
Aye, that was a sexy cross alright. He has that in his repertoire: I was watching a video of some of his performances when he broke onto the scene at Southampton and his crossing and ability to get up and down the pitch was incredible. Wish he could find some consistency with his delivery.

I think it’s a mental thing. Mourinho has wrecked him. He’s so cautious. No coincidence that he looked at his best going forwards once Sheffield were dead and buried.

If I’m being honest, not particularly fussed about Williams and it isn’t bothering me at all that he hasn’t featured. The way I see it the team either needs Shaw to deliver or he needs to be sold and a new LB brought in.

Williams will almost certainly play on Saturday anyway.

I think it's partly the leg break too, he used to get up and down the pitch for us far more regularly before that. It doesn't help he's so bulky either, if he was slimmer like Robertson or Chillwell it'd probably help him getting up with the ball and not worry about getting injured.

We've been needing a new LB for a bit really. Shaw's been given a lot of chances because I think he does undeniably have a lot of talent.

I made it quite clear before when I said unless forced, managers don't really like to mess with their back line. We kept another clean sheet against Sheff Utd, and a big part of that is down to our settled back four.

I can imagine Williams will play the full game vs Norwich on Saturday.
Well, how wrong was I?

Very surprised Williams is not starting today.

Maybe Ole feels Shaw, as Pogue mentioned, needs games to games to find his full match fitness.

That last ditch recovery slide tackle. Also did a good slide tackle near touchline but ref blew the whistle earlier for a foul.
 He loves to slide tackles didn't he, bringing down the tackled player to the ground.

I hope he really improve his overall game, so much is lacking but that's expected.

I like him, a player with fire in his belly, typical United type of player.

Good squad player, a cover for both FBs.

He was good again. I am confident that he will be a strong squad player at least, and if he keeps improving could be a very good player.

At least he is not plagued by injuries, which is a big positive for him.

I was quite surprised he didn’t start to give Shaw a rest but there was a weird but in the game for me where he looked knackered just 10 minutes after coming on. Maybe he’d been winded or something but he really seemed to be struggiling to keep up/get going. Seemed alright in the end and was making plenty of runs.

positioning is still terrible and made a good few errors but he does look like he’ll be a decent squad option. Don’t think he has what it will take to be a first team player.

Loved his patient defending on that counter, didn't dive in and just waited for Connoly to go somewhere. His defending has been a bit jumpy at times this season but this was a mature cameo. Stepped in and won the ball well. Great ball to James to set up that chance which unluckily hit him on the back (wouldn't have if James was more aware of his surroundings).

I love that he takes risks. Was being pressed at the dying minute and instead of him to go for a simple safe pass he dribbled his man

Nice little cameo today, he's done well to avoid jumping into tackles since his promotion to the first team.

He is a big talent. He'll rack up quite a few assists next season I think. Maybe 3 goals and 8 assist.

He will get better with time, especially once he fills out a bit more, then he should be more comfortable to take players on and get forward more.

He is a fine squad option for now.

He was filling in for periods on the right hand side,or was it just me? If so it's cracking to have him as a back up to AWB and Shaw together. He'd have great exposure + enough games to play in

I personally thought he could play as a RB but he`s much better as a LB despite being right footed. Had a great cameo

He's pretty solid but nothing special.

Shaw and AWB are nailed on first choice.

He's got the right attitude and will keep pushing, a good squad needs this type of player. A solid pro with a good attitude. He's the new John O'Shea. That type

Solid cameo, he's a victim of his own success. Came in, took the PL by storm, made Shaw play really well, now playing 2nd fiddle to Shaw haha!

He's got a long and solid career ahead of him here at United. We have 4 good, young wing backs to cover 2 positions.

I think he can surpass that to be honest. Easy to forget he's 19, 3 years younger than AWB, and in his first season. He has rarely looked out of place even against the better sides and he has the technical skills to become a very good player. I would say I'd expect at the lowest development a John O'Shea level player (which is a very good squad player) but I can see him becoming a starting player over the next few years.

Good cameo, but it seems Ole doesn't trust him to play from the start. Shaw, Maguire and Bruno start every game.

Was impressive last night. Did well going in both directions. I’ve said before that I don’t think he’s all that, and certainly want to give credit where earned.

He did well, showed lot of composure when he was 1v1 against Brighton attacker. Best part of his play is, he makes runs to attack the ball. Yesterday he had decent chance to score.

This is his debut season and he's already better than Mendy:lol: .

Great cameo,he has the right mentality and he's tenacious, he is quickly getting better .The next phase of his development is to when to hold the offside line.I am happy for him.
